  • 08/05/08 - Season Tickets For 2008/09

The details of season Tickets for next season have been posted on the official site so if you are looking at finding out about the prices and applying for one please lick the graphic below: -

    Season Tickets

    08/05/08 - Hampton Next Season

Tonight Hampton & Richmond lost 2-0 To Eastbourne Borough in the Blue Square South Play-off final so good luck to Eastbourne next season and it also looks like Hampton could be our closest team and therefore the team we play on Boxing Day and New Years Day.

    07/05/08 - Setanta Shield

I have been looking at the details of the Setanta Shield for this season 2007/08 as I think most people knew it was a regional competition starting with The Blue Square North Clubs and the Blue Square South clubs and then the Blue Square Premier clubs enter at the later stages. Well from What I can make out the first couple of rounds are even more regional so you are guaranteed a local derby and therefore reduces expenses for clubs and potentially better attendances.

My early guess that could be totally wrong would be if Hampton don't get promoted in the play off we will face them otherwise we could face Fisher but we will have to wait and see. The first round starts at the beginning of October.

    07/05/08 - Vote Jason

Last week I posted a link for the South London Press Player of The Year and the fact that Jason Goodliffe was 2nd 5% behind the Leader the Crystal Palace Goalkeeper, what I didn't realised was that the link I had contained an error and was the page you go to after you have voted. Jason is now joint top and it's close between the two players so please vote again, from different machines if you can do the correct link is http://www.southlondon-today.co.uk/tn/Sport.cfm?id=6169

    06/05/08 - What Looks Better?

No in-depth Analysis, Not  lot of text just two graphics, make up your own mind.

    06/05/08 - Player Departures

After the elation of the weekend disappointment is going to occur for a number of players over the next few day as they find out if they are part of Terry Brown's plans for 2008/09 Blue Square South campaign. One of the first details of a player not being retained came from th man who scored our winning goal on Saturday when "Mark Debolla posted a thank you message on his Face book page and said he hadn't been offered Terms for the new season" expect a number of other situations like this in the next few days although if terry releases a player he has obviously got someone lined up to take his place.

If it's true that Mark is leaving it no better way for him to sign off than how he did on Saturday so Thanks very much Mark you have a very special place in our history.

    05/05/08 - Frequently Asked Questions

Since 5pm on Saturday a number of questions have been asked so I thought I would add some quick frequently asked questions as mentioned below I will expanded on these over the next few days and if any more come up I will add them.

    A) When does the new Season Start - The Blue Square South division starts one week earlier than the Rymans League and usually the second week of August for the 2007/08 season the Blue Square South started 11th August when Ryman Started 18th August so it could start on the 9th August but this has yet to be confirmed.
    B) Do we wear squad numbers and names - Teams don't have squad numbers or names on Shirts in Blue Square South and North.
    C) Is their a league cup - The Setanta Shield is the League Cup and in the early stage is regionalised before it gets to a stage where you could face a fellow team from the South, North or National division. I will post more on this soon.
    D) Will we be on TV - The obvious way is via the Setanta Shield as 1 game in each round is on Setanta TV but plans for next season haven't been announced yet but we will keep an eye on this.
    E) What round of the FA Cup Do we enter? - If this year is anything to go by we enter 1 round later in the 2nd qualifying round last year 5 Blue Square South sides made it to the 1st Round proper.
    F) What round of the FA Trophy Do we enter? - If this year is anything to go by we enter 2 rounds later in the 3rd qualifying round.
    G) When are local derby's played - Rather than playing derby games on Boxing Day and Easter Monday the Blue Square leagues play them on Boxing Day and then New Years Day so it's two almost back to Back games.

    05/05/08 - It's Going To Be A Busy Summer

Traditionally once the season reaches an end the site goes into a relaxing period between now and pre-season but I will try and do an update at least everyday as we start to look and plan for next season in the Blue Square South, Once the line up of teams is done I will do a preview of each team so please come back regularly to see what is going on.

05/05/08 - Slowly Returning To Earth

We are now about 46 hours since the full time whistle at Staines and I'm sure most of us have been in a dreamworld since then. I think I'm capable of doing a round up now so here goes.

I was amaziningly not nervous about the game in the past two years I had been really nervous but this year I took the stance of what will be will be. I arrived at the ground at 13:00 and their was a good number of people already their and so when the team coach arrived at 13:20 the players were greeted by a terefic reception. Terry Brown was one of the first people off the coach and he just had a stunned look on his face to be greeted by such a large number of supporters.

The Turnstiles opened at 13:30 and we all went into the ground looking for the best place to view the game from. I took up a position just by our dugout but where I could see both goals and the ground was filling up nicely. The team were greeted to a great reception during warm up and then as they came out at the start of the game.

The first half itself was very end to end and the big decision of the half was when John main was taken down just outside the box and the Staines Captain was only booked. Just to make it worse on 36 minutes the same player headed in from a corner to put us 1-0 down.

At half time most of us were thinking please not again, not a 3rd year running of losing in the playoffs at Half time everyone said we needed more mussel up front and it was great to see that Terry Brown sent Nic McDonnell n to create problems. The second half continued  to be end to end but the more time went on the more we began to think that it clearly wasn't our day.

Terry Brown always said that he would pick a team to do a job and his wild card this game was Mark Debolla on the bench and he introduced him on 66 minutes into the game. With 12 minutes left the fear level for us supporters really began to set in and then a long thrown by Sam Hatton was dropped by the keeper to Nic McDonnell he crossed it low across the box and Luis Cumbers headed it home. At first major confusion occurred we went sure who had scored and then it looked like their keeper may be sent off as he had already been booked and he charged at the ref but the ref just told him to calm down.

With just 10 minutes left the crowd were really behind the team and then it appeared that the linesman had awarded us a penalty he was waving his flag like crazy but yet again the ref decided that he was in charge and would make all the calls so nothing was given.

Then 86 minutes were on the clock and we were awarded a free kick around 25 yards out and Mark De Bolla decided it was his to take he lined it up hit it over the wall and then hit the back of the net down really low. The players went crazy the fans went even more crazy and do you know what my first thought was? Please don't conceded, it's a strange things that go through your mind.

When the 4th official held up the board to say 4 minutes injury time I wasn't overly worried they won a corner and the goal keeper came up to create a problem but his clearance went backwards and out of play. It was then a case to watch the ref when he would signal PROMOTION. The whistle blew and the pitch was invaded it was total relief that we had done what we had set out to do. It was a chance to find friends and celebrate or just hug total strangers.

I got on to th pitch and knew a number of people I wanted to celebrate with were in the stand so whilst everyone ran to the tunnel I went straight across and found some people, but then a lovely surprise sitting at the back of the stand with a huge smile on his face was Robbie Earle who had arrived with David Barnard both were so pleased that we had been promoted and once again it was very special that they could share the day.

As we left the ground it started to rain but who cared, and on the journey to Kingsmeadow we even took a wrong turning but it didn't matter we arrived back at Kingsmeadow and it was packed just time to grab a bottle of Champers before the team arrived to a heroes reception. The players went to put their bags in the dressing room and all returned with bottles of champagne. somehow i managed to be right in from of Jason Goodliffe as he opened his bottle of champagne and got completely covered in it but I couldn't of been happier.

Kingsmeadow continued to rock Ivor interviewed a number of players and Terry Brown on the stage before an evening of drinking and dancing started, We are Wimbledon and then the Beatles "Yellow & Blue, Yellow & Blue Wombles" were the first tracks, what do you mean thats the not the name of the song? :)

I eventually staggered away from Kingsmeadow about 11:00 but not before I had celebrated with a number of fans, we have such a special club and everybody should take credit for this.

Then Sunday was spent reading various reports and for us on face book swapping stories and looking at each others pictures some from the link I posted yesterday. Watching Video and keep pinching myself that we did win and therefore get promoted. Then Just as I started to return a bit I read the O/S and saw the comments from Beasant & Sanchez and that pushed be back to the cloud 12 level again.

    04/05/08 - YES!!!!!!!

At this stage their is not a lot more that needs to be said, I will write some more up later but following out 2-11 victory at Staines ensuring promotion I thought I would post some links of pictures video and Video Clips from Yesterday.

    03/05/08 - Come On Wombles

This afternoon's game is just huge the simple situation is the winner gets promoted to the "Blue Square South Division" the match has to be decided this afternoon and therefore we could have extra time and penalties.

If your one of the lucky people who got a ticket make sure we get behind the team from the start to the very end of the game Terry and the team really appreciate our help and it encourages them during games especially if we are under pressure.

If you don't have a ticket I hope you can follow the game via the various update services see below and above as we try and cover all bases.

03/05/08 - RADIO Wdon Signal On Air

Sorry to repeat a post that I made just the other day but just a reminder that Radio Wdon will be up and running this afternoon broadcasting the signal from Radio Wye who are from the Staines area. so if you paste either of the following links into your music players you should be able to listen to the match.

    http://www.wdon.com:8000/wdon or http://www.wdon.com:8000/wdon.m3u

    01/05/08 - How Can I Follow Saturday

If you don't have a ticket for Saturday's game and are wondering how to follow the action you have two main ways the first is the Radio Wdon server should be up and running although it wont be our commentary team we are piggybacking Radio Wye service as they have a limited capacity.

I will be doing the updates and hope that these will manage to cope with the pressure but more about this either Friday Night or Saturday Morning.

01/05/08 - Let The Countdown Begin

01/05/08 - All Good Fun At Staines Tonight

Although I had my ticket sorted I went over tonight to pick up a couple for people that didn't have them, these people are Season Ticket Holders. I arrived at Staines at about 5:40 after getting a cab direct from the station with two other wombles.

On arrival I reckon about 150 people were in front of me and it was a fun hour and a quarter as we waited for the office to open. A Staines Official came out every so offer to inform people the tea bar was open and how long before the ticket office opened.

By the time the ticket office opened I reckon 350 fans were waiting and it was entertaining when Staines Manager and players turned up and the car park was already full. By my estimate 95% of the supporters waiting appeared to be our supporters and with around 850 tickets on sale that will give you an idea of the additional numbers that we will have at the game.

When the ticket office opened thee service was very quick and everybody who wanted a ticket got one by the end of the evening apparently less than 20 tickets were left.

    30/04/08 - One Step Closer

Earlie this evening we came through the play-off semi final match against AFC Hornchurch with a 3-1 victory thanks to 2 goals from Jon Main. This now means that on Saturday we go to Staines Town for the Ryman Premier Playoff Final with the winner being promoted to the Blue Square South League. This match has a limited ticket allocation so please check the information that will be placed on the official site so you can understand how and when to apply for your ticket.

29/04/08 - No Build Up Needed

This is it something we haven't had in the two previous season's lets see if we can make Home Advantage count in the playoffs. Kingsmeadow is going to be packed let's get behind the team and cheer us on to victory. If you can't make the game I will be doing matchday updates via the link above. Team news should be posted from 19:330 and all the action from kick off at 19:445. The game has the possibility of going to Extra time and penalties so make sure you don't leave until the end.

    28/04/08 - Vote For Jason

Jason Goodliffe is up for the South London Press Player of the year and is currently only 9% behind the leader (a Crystal Palace player) this gap has closed a lot in the last few days so if you haven't voted yet please do so by clicking here

    28/04/08 - This May Help

If your Trying to pass the time between now and kick off the following link may help, to see it click here.

    27/04/08 - A Big Big Week

Yesterday was the official end of the season and as it turns out us and AFC Hornchurch will meet again on Tuesday evening at Kingsmeadow.

No matter how the season has turned out so far we now have the chance to achieve promotion by winning on Tuesday and then Saturday. Since we realised we were unlikely to win the title this has been what it has been leading up to. Let's pack Kingsmeadow on Tuesday get behind the team and cheer everyone on to victory.

    27/04/08 - Amazon Shop

At the start of last week the Dons Trust Membership agreed to increase the size of the main stand, obviously this is going to cost a large amount of money and therefore will need fundraising efforts to be stepped up again. One easy way to help with this is if you shop at Amazon click on any of the links on this site and any purchase will see commission paid to the Dons Trust,

So if you are looking to use Amazon make sure you click a link first and without paying anything above the price you will be helping the club.

26/04/08 - AFC Hornchurch Matchday Service

This afternoon we play our last league game of the season when we visit fellow playoff side AFC Hornchurch. The updates will be in action and I will post team news from around 14:45 and then all the action from 15:00 as well as action from our game I will try and post any updates I get from Billericay vs Staines or any of the other playoff sides. To follow the action please click the matchday link at the top of the page.

    25/04/08 - Playoff Update

As we go into the last weekend of the season the playoff situation is still not confirmed what we do know is that us and Staines will be at home on Tuesday evening but who we play won't be known until 5pm tomorrow night.

As it currently stands Staines will host Hendon and we host AFC Hornchurch but if we better Staines result (in points i.e. they draw and we win, or they lose and we draw) we would finish 2nd and Staines 3rd.

The 5th place spot still has a number of outcomes in theory 4 teams could finish 5th Hendon, Ramsgate, Tonbridge or Ashford but Hendon are in the driving seat and if they match Ramsgate result and Ramsgate don't win by 5 more goals than Hendon, Hendon would get 5th.

If Hendon & Ramsgate games finish in a draw and Tonbridge win Tonbridge would make the playoffs. For Ashford to reach playoffs they need better results than the other 3 times.

21/04/08 - And More Seats From Next Season

At tonight SGM of the Dons Trust the motion was carried to enter into an agreement to extend the roof of the main stand all the way along and also add an additional 200+ seats to the Kingston Road end of the main stand. It is hoped that the work will be finished by the start of the new season but progress on this will be given over the close season.

21/04/08 - Home Playoff Semi Final

Tonight Folkestone and AFC Hornchurch drew 0-0 and this therefore guarantees us a home semi final match next Tuesday evening 29th April as at worse we can finish 3rd in the league. The point for Hornchurch guarantees they finish 4th and means they will be away to either Staines or us. Folkestone's draw moves them out the relegation zone and on Saturday they visit Maidstone and Maidstone need to win to stay up and send Folkestone down.

    21/04/08 - SGM Tonight

The Dons Trust SGM takes place tonight starting at 19:00 in the back bar, if your attending and planning to drive remember that Kingstonian's are at home tonight and therefore the car park can be busy.

The agenda item is the proposal to extend the main stand by two block and the implications this would have on finances. I will be planning to post updates on matters that are discussed via the matchday updates service so if you can make the meeting and wish to follow the discussions please click the matchday link above and I will do my best to keep you updated.

20/04/08 - Player Of The Year Awards

This seasons Player of the year awards were rightly swept by Jason Goodliffe with him winning Junior Dons, Radio Wdon, Players Player and Supporters Player of the year. The only two catogries he couldn't enter were the ones he didn't win. They were Reserve Team Player of the year that went to Luke Pigden and Young Player of the year went to Chris Hussey who I'm sure you agree has had an incredible year.

20/04/08 - Why Do We Make Things so Difficult?

Yesterday the maths was very simple, we win a home playoff match would be guaranteed and with Staines and AFC Hornchurch having tough games maybe we could take a step towards securing the 2nd place in the league and therefore as well as having home advantage for the Semi Final this would be the case if we won it for the final.

The game got off to a bad start when after just 37 seconds Harlow Town took the lead with a close range tap in at the back post. The Half ended in a similar way as well when in the final minute a ball was played over the top and the Harlow player hit it over James Pullen and into the back of the net so we were 2-0 down at half time.

Although we scored after 79 minutes it wasn't enough and whilst Harlow rightly celebrated the win that keeps them in the Ryman Premier League we have a to wait a bit longer to see which playoff place we end up in.

After the game we found out that Staines had lost and AFC Hornchurch had drawn so although AFC Hornchurch can match us on points they need to improve their goal difference on us by 10 goals this week.

    19/04/08 - Harlow Matchday Service

This afternoon we face Harlow Town in the final Home League game of the season as well as the usually matchday updates I will also be providing information on who wins each of the awards.

The team news should be posted by about 14:30 and then all the action from 15:00 when we kick off, Then following the final whistle the presentations as well, Also keep an eye on the updates at half time as I may have a interesting update for you if I can get something to work.

18/04/08 - Trying To Sort Out The Playoffs

I thought I would try and explain if the playoff situation can be made any clearer by the end of tomorrow?

Staines and ourselves have secured our playoff places but nobody currently knows who is home and who will be away in the semi finals.

One of us could miss out on a home game if AFC Hornchurch fail to drop points in their remaining games.

If AFC Hornchurch drop points at Tonbridge we would be guaranteed a home game no matter what the result of our game against Harlow whilst Staines would need to better AFC Hornchurch when they host Hendon. This situation would mean that we wouldn't rely on games in the final week of the season when both AFC Hornchurch and Staines have midweek games.

If AFC Hornchurch win they will also be guaranteed a playoff spot but this could also be achieved if they get a point and Staines win against Hendon.

If Tonbridge and Hendon both lose and Ashford and Ramsgate win the playoff situation will get complicated. Tonbridge and Hendon would be out of the playoff picture and the final spot would go down to a last day of the season race between Ashford and Ramsgate.

I wont even try at this stage to explain what could happen if the Staines vs Hendon and Tonbridge vs AFC Hornchurch games are drawn! If you think this is complicated you should try and work out the relegation battle with 8 teams in a battle for 3 places, this includes Harlow But only a bizarre set of results could see them end up in the bottom 4 but they have the best goal difference of the 8 sides so should be safe.

18/04/08 - Presentations At Match Tomorrow

With tomorrow being the last Home league game of the season, (Playoff games don't count as League games, and their not Cup Games either) it's the tradition of the Player of the year awards.

The majority of these will take place after the final whistle so don't shoot off right on the final whistle hang about to see who has won the following awards.

    WISA Player of the Year
WUP Young Player of The Year (Natalie Callow Memorial Trophy)
    Reserve Player of The Year
Junior Dons Player of The Year
    Players Player of The Year

16/04/08 - The SGM On Monday

If you are a member of the Dons Trust you will have received the paperwork about the SGM, the meeting is to discuss the proposal to extend the main stand and create an additional 200 seats, as well as this their are a number of other ground improvements that are needed at Kingsmeadow,

On reading the document my understanding is as follows: - If you read the costs of this project it sounds daunting prospect but with a very detailed analysis of how this will be funded shows that an huge amount of thought has gone into this and it is also possible to achieve this.

The urgent factor for this is down to two things a project like this can only be undertaken once the season ends so we need to get things completed so that if sucessfull the project can start almost straight away and be completed by the end of the close season.

The other and more important fact is that the planning application expires in the next 12 months and although it has been extended once before we could potentially have problems extending it again and if it wasn't renewed we wouldn't be able to make improvements to the ground. These improvements are obviously needed if we hope to progress up into the Blue Square South and beyond.

Most people don't consider either attending or voting at SGM's but this is a very important issue and if you can do your best to attend or vote it could make a difference in the future plans for the club.

16/04/08 - Staines Late Show At Folkestone

Tonight it looked like Staines would drop the points we needed them to, so that the race for second place could be in our hands. Staines were trailing 1-0 with 87 minutes on the clock but then were awarded a penalty for handball which they scored. With this Folkestone appeared to collapse with Staines taking the lead on 93 minutes and then a3rd goal in the last minute.

Staines are now 2 points behind us but have a game in hand currently our goal difference is 5 goals better, it's going to be an interesting last week of the season.

15/04/08 - Last Call For Sponsorship

Over the weekend I took part in the "Wombling to Wembley" walk and I must say it was very enjoyable all proceeds raised are being donated directed to The Dons Trust. On Saturday we walked 8 miles and Sunday was about 7 miles.

If you would like to contribute to the fund please click the link below, This will enable me to hand over all proceeds to the club on Saturday at the Harlow game. Thanks in advance.

    15/04/08 - Ryman Round Up

On Monday night Staines were due to play Folkestone but due to heavy rain the match was called off at 19:15 and with all games having to be completed by Saturday week, and both teams already having a game next midweek it has now been re-arranged for Wednesday night.

Tonight Ashford won 3-0 against Carshalton, this victory has moved them into 5th place in the league. This weekend Staines host Hendon and Tonbridge host AFC Hornchurch so the playoff picture could really be mixed up going into the final week of the season.

    15/04/08 - Photo's From Wembley

I'm sure if you went to Wembley on Sunday you took a camera but one of the things I have enjoyed since Sunday have been looking at other peoples photos.

If you have a face book account their are some great pictures that have been posted in various people's profiles so go to photos and search for AFC Wimbledon and you will get everything from the coach arriving click here, behind the scenes click here, and of course on pitch action click here these are just a few of what is available so have a search.

    14/04/08 - Mazza At Wembley

If like myself you were at Wembley you most probably had a cracking day but one supporter who had an even more incredible day was Mazza who of course got his 20 minutes of fame on the pitch.

If you want to see pictures I took of Mazza during his day please click here. I will post some more pictures tonight

13/04/08 - Reduced Updates From Wembley

At Wembley this afternoon I will only be doing a reduced Matchday service of Major incidents and goals. With the game likely to have loads of substitutions it will be hard at the best of times and with it just being an enjoyable game I'm going to relax and enjoy it and maybe take a few pictures that I can post later. To check the score please click the matchday link above.

    13/04/08 - Wombling To Wembley Day 2

This morning 4 of us will start on our second day of the Wombling to Wembley course we will also be joined by a few more people who are only doing day 2, but after setting off from Kew Bridge at around 10:15 we are aiming to be at Wembley for around 12:30 or at least in the pub by then.

Don't forget we are raising funds for the ground fund, so if you wish to donate to our sponsorship fund please do.

13/04/08 - Truth is stranger than fiction: (3)

In a complete rip off of an SW19 Army feature I thought I should record this one.

Picture the scene 5 minutes before the PA crackles into life and an announcement comes over "Will the owner of the following car please move it" nothing unusual in that but if your a regular at Kingsmeadow it may have rung a few alarm bells. The reason being at the time the owner of the said car was currently marshallings our defense as it was Marcus Gayle's car.

Some people may suggest that Ashford decided they need to get Marcus off the pitch for a few minutes so put the announcement out, I wont be so harsh :) Apparently after the Match Marcus was a bit confused as to how his car had been moved from where he originally parked it.

13/04/08 - Victory Even With Update Problems

Yesterday was a very strange day after a lovely morning stroll for Wombling To Wembley Day 1 in brilliant sunshine we arrived at Ashford Town to be greeted by a huge hail storm which soaked me unfortunately this resulted in my phone also getting very wet and half the keys on my keyboard wouldn't work.

This obviously made updates very difficult and I must admit I was trying to get my phone to work when Robin Shroot hit his wonder strike for our second so although I saw it hit the net I missed the original strike.

Either side of halftime their was another torrential downpour but our spirits were kept up with a brilliant on pitch display Robin scored a very nice hat-trick and then in the final 10 minutes with Ashford still trying to get back in the game by removing a couple of midfielder Romoane Rose scored the 4th of the day.

With AFC Hornchurch and Staines winning a win next week should see us secure a minimum of 3rd place and home advantage for the Semi Final playoff game.

    12/04/08 - Ashford Matchday Updates

    09/04/08 - In The Playoffs

Last night Staines and Hendon both dropped point's with Staines get a 2-2 draw at Heybridge thanks to a last minute goal for Staines. Hendon Lost 4-0 at Tonbridge and this moved Tonbridge into the current playoff positions. Hendon's defeat means we are guaranteed a top 5 finish now and therefore a playoff spot.

07/04/08 - Darren Hoping To Get To Beijing

Away from Football at the weekend you will be more than aware that preparations for the 2008 Olympics are in full swing and one person who hopes to be involved is AFC Wimbledon fan Darren Langley.

This week Darren is boxing in the final qualification competition to gain a place in the British squad. To get into the team he needs to reach the final, I'm not sure how the qualification tournament works but what I have been able to find out is their are 12 other opponents and the eliminators are from Today until Wednesday, then the Semi-Final on Friday and the final on Saturday, if I am able to get any updates on how Darren is doing I will post them on here.

But I'm sure everyone will want to wish Darren good luck this week.

    06/04/08 - Approaching The Playoffs

Yesterday last minute winner has made our playoff situation a bit more easier to calculate. Unless a very bizarre set of results take place we are now have a playoff place this is as the only teams that can et more points than us are Staines, AFC Hornchurch & Ashford. Hendon can match our points total but at present we have a better goal difference than them by 13 goals.

If we pick up 4 points from our remaining games we will be guaranteed a home game in the semi finals but if we draw at Ashford and AFC Hornchurch draw at Home to Wealdstone that should be enough to secure 3rd place for us.

For us to finish in 2nd place we need Staines to drop a minimum of 3 points in their remaining 6 games and with them playing every midweek and weekend to the end of the season with 5 of these away it's possible they may drop some points.

Chelmsford yesterday secured the championship with a 1-1 draw at home to Ramsgate.

    03/04/08 - Sponsor The Walkers

    03/04/08 - Wembley Match & Lottery Tickets

With The Wembley match just over a week away demand for Match Tickets is going Well, remember we are only being given a fraction of the stadium capacity and tickets might not be on sale on the day of the game, so the easiest way to get the tickets is via the ticket Hotline or at the game on Saturday, whilst buying your tickets why not get some lottery tickets and even if you don't want to win the prize I'm sure you will know someone who does.

Lottery Tickets are £5 each with the prize being playing for part of the game as a member of the AFC Wimbledon team.

As well as the normal daytime hours that the hotline is open the ticket line will also be open tomorrow night from 6pm to 9pm for additional sales.

    01/04/08 - Playoff Update

Tonight 4 playoff rivals were in action, Staines beat East Thurrock 3-1, Ashford beat Horsham 3-0 and Boreham Wood beat Hendon 1-0.

With Horsham and Hendon losing it now means that 4 points will guarantee us a playoff match although the situation for a guaranteed home game hasn't been changed.

Staines are now 6 points behind us but have 3 games in hand.

    31/03/08 - What's Needed for the Playoffs

After Saturday's disappointing defeat to Horsham the playoff picture is once again made a bit more complicated.

With Staines still having 8 games to play by Saturday 26th April of which 6 games are away from home they now have the potential upper hand on 2nd place as they can get 3 points more than us if both us and them win all their games.

The simple indicator is that if we get 7 more points from 4 games we are guaranteed a playoff spot no matter what thee other teams do. In terms of where we will finish is a bit more complicated to calculate but I will try and give it a go: -

As it currently stands the teams we are challenging for playoff spot's are as follows Staines, AFC Hornchurch, Ashford, Horsham, Hendon, Ramsgate and Tonbridge Angles. I have assumed that Chelmsford who only need 1 point even if Staines win all their remaining games will win the league and Billericay who need to win all their remaining games just to equal our current points total wont finish above us.

With us still to play two of the playoff rivals victories over both Ashford and AFC Hornchurch would almost guarantee a home time in a playoff semi-final as Hendon & Horsham could only match our points total.

A number of fellow rivals still have to play each other and therefore may mean that we don't even need that many points. If we are looking to finish second we need Staines to drop points and their current run in looks like this.

Date Against Venue Date Against Venue
01-Apr East Thurrock Away 14-Apr Folkestone Away
05-Apr Folkestone Home 19-Apr Hendon Home
08-Apr Heybridge Away 26-Apr Billericay Away
12-Apr Harlow Away T.B.A Boreham Wood Away

If they can get through this run they would then go straight into the playoffs the following midweek and a possible final the following weekend.

I will update the situation as it changes.
