The Man Of The Match vote is now open for todays game against Oxhey Jets please use the link beelow to cast your vote: -
We went into today's FA Cup match hoping for a victory which we got but this was a special day where both clubs could appreciate the other, Oxhey didn't disgrace them self or get blown away by us and maybe the 3rd goal may have been a bit hard on them.
The first goal was from Darren Grieves with a header although at the time some people thought it was Scott Curley. The second goal was a move started and finished by Steve Butler, with the finish being a calmly taken shot. and then in injury time at the end of the game Michael Haswell finished a lovely end to end move with a shot across the keeper and into the back of the net from the corner of the box.
The Oxhey players, supporters and officials got an excellent post game reception and they all seemed to go home very happy and pleased with their overall FA Cup run which has extended to 4 matches, They are still in the FA Vase and let's hope they have a good run in that competition as well.
This afternoon we are in action in the FA Cup against Oxhey Jets, if you cant make the match the matchday service will be in operation with the team news from around 14:30 and then all the action from kick off at 15:00. To follow the action please click the matchday link at the top of the page.

Tonight we left it late, very late but came away with a huge 3 points. Once again we have lots of chances hitting the bar and inside of the post but not the back of the net, then with 7 minutes to go Ashford took the lead and it looked like we were going to have our first defeat of the season.
A couple of minutes later we were awarded a penalty for handball and Roscoe stepped up and scored again then in about the 3rd minute of injury time Steve Wales fired home to send the traveling supporters wild along with all the players and the AFC Wimbledon bench. So a very important result in consideration to how other result went tonight although we slipped a place to 6th but the gap with the top of the table is 4 points.
Tonight showed a great team effort and we never gave up and our first midweek league goals of the season.
Tonight we visit Ashford Town Middx in a league game I will be doing thee usual text service so if you cant make the game you can follow all the major points via the matchday link at the top of the page. Team news should be posted at about 19:30 and then all the action from kick off at 19:45.
I took a number of photo's on sunday of Haydon at the Mascot Grad National if you would like to view them all please click here
It's easy to understand why Haydon is loved by everyone at Kingsmeadow he's one of us and we all know what he means but today was only what I can describe as an incredible event, it was an event that if you weren't their you wouldn't believe but I spent today traveling to and from Cambridgeshire to watch 70 people in mascot outfits 'run' 220 meters whilst jumping over 6 small hurdles on a horse racing track! When we arrived a lot of the mascots were already changed into their outfits these seemed to be light t-shirts and some even had running shoes on all the well known premiership and championship mascots were present, including Arsenal's, Everton, Ipswich and Crystal Palace.
Kids present all wanted to go and shake thee mascots hand but then Haydon appeared and kids everywhere rushed to greet him and you could hear little voices saying "it's a Womble" and Haydon did his bit even the Arsenal mascot was pleased to see Haydon and had a big Mascot style hug and as they paraded round the ring and then walked to the start line Haydon was the name on everyone lips.
As for the race it's self this event should be nominated for the 2012 London Olympics this was clearly "It's a Knockout" at its best first we had a false start by one cheeky mascot and then they all set off and chaos ensured some didn't even make the first hurdle either due to falling over or being pulled over. As for Haydon let's say he didn't come last infact 11 people finished after him even though he did try and run through the final hurdle and then did a belly flop on to one of the other other mascots at the finish line.
The aim of the "Mascot Grand National" is for everyone to have a great time but more importantly money to be raised for a national charity, this year it's the Children Trust who are based in Tadworth a prize was awarded for the person who raised the most money, and apparently when Haydon registered and said he had raised £640.00 they looked at him as if he was mad yes this was the largest sponsorship that had been raised and helping a great cause.
Their was also a prize given out for best turned out and when Haydon asked how he had done was told the rules said the same person couldn't win both awards I think that says it all Haydon was best turned out as well even if he didn't get the award. As we took our places on the rail we spotted BBC Warwickshire & Coventry local radio who were doing a live outside broadcast, I kid you not, so we introduced our self and we were asked if we would take part in an interview their was only one person who could do this so we nominated Ivor Hellor and Ivor did a great interview with a very knowledgeable interviewer who wished AFC Wimbledon all the best and said she hoped to see us and her team Coventry in the premiership in the near future.
So a great day spreading the word both verbally and visually and next year we will be back for a great day.
PS in the Horse racing that followed I almost came home with profit thanks to "Plough Mate" getting a 3rd @ 10/1 if only it had won.

This afternoon we did all we could but couldn't get past the Margate Defence and mainly, the goal keeper as we finished 0-0 in the Ryman League clash. Their were few clear cut chances for either side but the best of them fell our way but on the two best occasions the Margate Keeper managed to stop them getting into the back of the net, the first was a Byron Bubb chip at the very edge of the box but the keeper got a hand to and diverted it out of the area, the second saw Richard Butler break through and from close range the keeper made another good save to this time turn it round for a corner. Meanwhile at the other end of the pitch our defence played very well to ensure that Margate's strike force didn't have ny opportunity to get a clear cut shot in.
This afternoon the matchday service will be in operation as we face thee tough challenge at Margate. I will post the team news as soon as I get it which may be around 14:45 and then all the action from kick off via the matchday link above.
Thanks to everyone who voted again for the Man of the Match vote for last Saturday's game against Horsham you can view it by clicking the Man of thee Match ling above then latest. Over 50 people again and this time we had different people with most votes for star player compared to the highest average rating and the team mark was very high again. The Margate match will open when I get home tomorrow night and will remain open until Tuesday evening when we play Ashford Town
last night it was a good run out for Simon Sweeney and Steve in their final stage of rehabilitation before possibly making the first team squad. The line up was a mixture of first team bench players, or current players returning from injury, regular reserve layers and also some youngsters.
One player who it was good to see involved and who scored our goal was Mark King, let he remains at the club because he could definitely be involved in some of the county cup games. The final score was 1-1 and the North Greenford keeper pulled off a couple of very nice saves. One change at the ground was behind the goal at the club house end was a small stand which probably holds about 150 people.
Fingers crossed tonight and I will be bringing a mini matchday service to you, I am planning on making the trip to North Greenford for the reserve Friendly that has been organised and will hopefully see Simon Sweeney and Steve Watson get some much needed game time in their long awaited first team appearances, having seen them both at games they are both desperate to get a run in the team and help us in our league campaign.
Any updates will be team news, goals and major incidents.
Well anyone who made the midweek game at Margate last season wont be rushing for the sun cream and straw hat for this weekend's trip to Margate but the suggestion is that the weather is meant to be nice. Margate are one of pre-season teams that people thought would be in amongst the teams in the play-off positions and had started very well this season, and then they had a very strange result at the time against Boreham Wood. margate currently sit 3rd in the league.
On Tuesday night they progressed into the 2nd qualifying round of the FA Cup when they had a 1-0 victory at Fleet Town in a replay. Margate's goal was scored by Danny Hockton who most people will expect to end up leading Ryman League goal scorer for the season, he has already scored 9 league goals this season, and last year scored 16 goals in 20 games for Margate.
So this could be a real test for us on Saturday but we clearly have the players to prove that we want to be in the end of season mix and although this wont decide anything for the season it could be an early marker.
After all the excitement of last weekend's game and then the draw on Monday you may have forgotten to vote for Saturday's Man of The Match, if you haven't vote yet and wish to please click the link below: -
At this stage of the FA Cup most teams are hoping for a couple of things, first a home draw and then the possibility of playing a club from a team in a lower division, so if you get both of these you have to think yourself very lucky. So when the draw was announced at lunchtime today and match number 44 came out as AFC Wimbledon vs Oxhey Jets F. C. we could be really happy.
Oxhey Jets are based near Watford and have a really nice official site front page today which can be viewed here, Oxhey play in the Spartan Midland league which is a level 5 club, that is the same as Combined Counties League is and so far this season, they have played 3 league games, and have aa won 1, Drawn 1 and lost 1 record, they have already played 3 FA Cup matches and won 3-0 Vs Concord Rangers, 1-0 Vs Aveley and 1-0 Vs Ruislip Manor this coming weekend they are also involved in FA Vase action so it's a busy time for them on thee cup trail at the moment.
After Saturday's game I could of spent the rest of the weekend watching re-runs of the goal, from the header by Steve Butler to the move up the pitch and the final execution it was a great goal. If you stopped watching the action there you may have just thought great goal but continue watching and their are potentially two moments that you may have missed first time round.
The obvious one is as the players run to the touch line to celebrate Richard Butler joins in and during the celebration Darren Grieves seems to land on Richard Butler's foot and you can then see Richard Butler hoping, sure Richard didn't find it funny at the time, but in the long run he would be pleased with a bit of pain. The second one was spotted by me and is a bit on the obscure side, as Roscoe crosses the ball Wes Daly get's in position to get the ball, but as Darren gets his head to it Wes' shoulder seem to drop as if to say that was my ball and then as the ball hit's the back of the net his arm's go into the air to celebrate and show he had no doubt about Darren putting it into the back of the net.
With the goal being filmed by Sky Sports and shown on Saturday night and Sunday morning it's possible it may reach the Soccer AM studio and another showing, but if you have missed it go to the Excellent Dons Online and have a look at the goal clip and all the other footage they excellently provide. The Draw for the Second qualifying round of the FA Cup will be made tomorrow and apparently announced on the FA Web site by 13:00, in previous years the FA have had a live premium rate phone number that you can phone into and listen to the draw live, this doesn't appear to be in operation this year and can be very long winded as with the draw being regionalised you never know when once section will end and who will be next, so most people will be tuned to the web site for full details.
For the 2nd Qualifying round teams from the Conference South and North join in, this means we could be drawn against the likes of Fisher, Braintree or Sutton but also we could get either another Ryman's side or maybe even a Southern League side.
Next weekend we are off to Margate who have had a good start to the league campaign, although over the past week result's have changed a bit and yesterday the were held to a draw at home against Fleet Town so will have to play a replay during the coming week. If you fancy traveling by coach next week the please contact the club on the main office number early this week, departure times are 10:30 from the Woodman pub in Wimbledon Park and 11:00 from Kingsmeadow. the cost is £12 for Adults and £7 for concessions.

In today's programme supporters put together 4 pages of memories of FA Cup games and I'm sure if you were to look through them i'm sure a number of them would involve games which you maybe didn't expect a result, last minute goals to get a victory or snatch a draw from a defeat or just all round exciting games, well in my opinion this game had all 3 things.
Last night I was struggling to sleep looking forward to what I thought would be a good game, but also concerned that we could go out at this first stage and I really hoped we could progress to who knows what. Arriving at the ground early as usual their was a definite buzz around the ground and just before the game as the players went onto the pitch the nerves really hit me, this was a game I really wanted us to win (like all them) but an understandable respect for Horsham meant that it could be potentially difficult.
We started really well and it was an end to end game but with few clear chances, and we went in level at 0-0 we hoped that the second half would be a continuation of the first but with maybe a few goals. Horsham started brightly but the game seemed to be played at lightning pace and continued to go end to end although very few clear cut attempts for either side.
With all four sides of the ground in good voice cheering on their team the atmosphere was really smart then with it looking like plans were needed for a replay on wednesday night the ground was sent into chaos as a Roscoe cross was met by Darren Grieves header that powered into the back of the net, it was like the 1980's all over again with flashbacks to Alan Cork scoring goals and the Batsford Boys in full effect.
Although the goal was very late the ref managed to play 8 minutes injury time but we continued playing well to wrap up a brilliant result, and although not as high scoring as previous weeks but a very entertaining game and see's us progress into Monday's draw for the game to be played on the weekend of September 30th.
In a big house it may be good and makes you look smart to have two Taylor's but if you don't have a couple of Butlers you might not get the future opportunity to look smart.

FA Cup this afternoon and let's hope for a cracking performance like we have had recently at Kingsmeadow. Lets hope for a really good turn out to hopefully get our FA Cup Campaign under way. If you are unable to get to Kingsmeadow this afternoon the matchday text commentary will be in operation with team news at around 14:30 and then all the action from Kick Off at 15:00 through to the final whistle to follow the action click the matchday link at thee top of the page.
The Man Of The Match result for Tuesday night's game against Hasting's can be viewed by clicking here as you can imagine the goal scorers did well and the votes for star player were mainly shared out by 4 players, Steve Goddard and Byron Bubb tied for 1st place with 7 votes each then Darren Grieves came 3rd with 6 votes and Wayne Finnie 4th with 5 votes. The vote for today's Horsham game will reopen after I get home from the game today.
The first game you play each season of the FA Cup is always a special game, their have already been 293 games before any replays that have taken place. so obviously 293 teams are already out of any chance of making the final at Wembley / Cardiff / or where ever it gets played, in fact after this round over half the scheduled games in this years competition will have been played.
Looking at the games that are to be played in this round our game is clearly the pick of the Southern Section of the draw with our level being the highest that teams can be in the fact that two teams from the same division and in the top 10 have been drawn against each other can be seen as a bit unfortunate, But to progress in any competition it is likely that you will need to face tough opponents.
Horsham travel to Kingsmeadow currently 2nd in the league in the past 5 league games they have conceded 1 goal in every game but scored 4 goals twice, 3 goals once and 2 goals on the other two occasions. We all know about two of their players in Jamie Taylor who has been scoring goals for fun this season and also Lewis Taylor who is playing on the left side of midfield and has also been on the score sheet this season. So it's easy to see that Horsham are an attacking side.
This will be a really good chance for us to see how we are progressing this season, and with Horsham likely to bring a decent number of supporters including the famous 'Lardy Boys' it should be a great afternoon.
The draw for the 3rd round of the Westview cup has been made and we are still waiting to have confirmed who we will play, and wont do until the night of Tuesday 26th September as we have been drawn away to the winners of Wingate& Finchley (who we lost to last season in the London Senior Cup or Burgess Hill Town.
If we are drawn against Burgess Hill Town it is due to be played on Tuesday 3rd October but if it's Wingate & Finchley it will be on Tuesday 10th October.
Thanks to everyone who voted in the Hendon Man of The Match vote, in the end 72 people cast their views in one way or another. You can view the full result by clicking here it was a high scoring match on the mark side of things with 8 of the starting players scoring over 7.5.

Tonight we won 2-1 against Hastings in the westview cup after being 1-0 down we scored 2 late goal thanks to Steve Goddard and Darren Grieves.

Tonight our search for cup glory get's underway and in reality is a warm up game before the main event get's under way at the weekend when we face Horsham in the FA Cup, tonight's visitors are Hastings United who have had a slow start before a fine 2-0 victory at early pace setters Dartford in the Ryman League Division One South.
The man aim tonight is to progress into the next round but a chance to see a few of the youngsters would also be nice, so could we possibly see a team that includes Paul Smith, Steve Butler, Simon Sobihy, Joe Paris, Wayne Finnie, Steve Goddard and Darren Grieves.
The Matchday service will be in operation from around 19:30tonight with the team news and then all the action from kick off at 19:45 through to the end of the game, which could also include extra time and penalties.
Last week three people at AFC Wimbledon left the roles that they were involved in at our club, it's fair to say that they have all played important roles over thee past 3 and a half season's and even longer.
Kris Stewart - It's easy to talk about Kris as he has always been at the front of things and no doubt about it has done a real lot for us all. Now Kris can take a back seat a bit, recharge the batteries a bit and then we don't know we might even see back on the stage with a mic in his hand and belting out the classic's, go on Kris you know you want to.
Dennis Lowndes - Anyone who has been a fan of Wimbledon over the years will know Dennis and what a great chap he is, memories of his are the amount of times Den would pass the trophies round full of Champers, yo think every time the team has turned out in home or away shirt's and looked really smart our den has had a huge part to play in it, I did really well not to mention the Godalming & Guildford combination, opps just did :).
Vicki Lowndes - A lot of people might wonder what a "Matchday Secretary" has to do but to ensure the smooth running of events on a matchday. as you may appreciate some officials can be very picky about what happens and with certain things that have to be done it's important that the matchday secretary get's them done right and on time the club can be fined and some times it can mean working to a tight deadline. So once again Vicki has played a large part in our success over the past four seasons.
So to all three of you thanks for what you have done and we look forward to seeing you continuing to enjoy watching the club in the future.

This afternoon we completed a well deserved victory over Hendon by 3 goals to Nil. In what had been an strange week in the life of AFC Wimbledon and it was so nice to see so many smiles abut the place. For anyone that usually misses kick off for one reason or another it's a large possibility you will have missed the first goal. After Hendon had kicked off and the ball was intercepted near the 18 yard box Wes Daly played the ball up field, and Roscoe gambled that the defender may try and head it back to the keeper, this he did and Roscoe picked it up to put into an empty net, with just 33 seconds on the clock we were 1-0 up.
No further goals followed in the half but just 10 minutes into the second half a nice bit of work by Byron Bubb saw a cross fired into the box and a nice header from close range by Steve Wales saw the ball diverted into thee back of the net. Just as quick as the first goal came about so did the move that led to the final goal Richard Butler was pulled down in the box and Roscoe stepped up to take the penalty which he put into the back of the net and with that the ref blew the final whistle.
So a good performance and with a few 'strange' results going around it was a nice end to the week.
This afternoon the matchday service will be in operation as we take on Hendon in the Ryman league. Teams news should be available from around 14:30 and then all the action from Kick off through to the final whistle.
Following Kris' statement on the official site he has an interview with the Wimbledon guardian which is well worth a read and you can view it by clicking here.
The full result of the Folkestone Man Of the Match result is now available and can be viewed here as you can imagine their were some high marks awarded and over 75 people took time to cast votes. So thanks to all that did.
Tonight a 0-0 draw at Slough where we were unable to break down a team that looked like they were out for a draw. at half time we bought on Paul barnes for Byron Bubb in a 4-3-3 formation but this didn't really produce many clear cut chances.

The initial Man o the Match result is that Frankie Howard came first with 8.22 whilst in second and third place was Roscoe Desane and Wes Daly, The full result will be published on Wednesday evening.
Well today was a very strange day, to start with mid afternoon the news broke that two of AFC Wimbledon Matchday volunteers in Dennis Lowndes and Vicki Lowndes have both stepped down from the roles that they do at the club, if this wasn't a surprise enough the news then broke about an hour later informing us that Kris Stewart had also stepped down from his role as CEO of the club. I will cover these stories in more detail over the next few days but for now a big thanks to all three for all their effort and time and dedication they have put into our club.
Tonight we visit Windsor for the match against Slough Town. Slough have started the season with 1 Win and 4 Defeats and that single win has come on their travels.
If you cant make the game the Matchday updates will be in operation, being an away game it's always harder to get team news early but as soon as I get it I will post it followed by all the action from Kick off through to the final whistle.
With a full midweek programme taking place tonight and tomorrow we have a chance to have a look at Hendon ahead of Saturday's game as they are in action tonight as they host Ashford Town (Middx). Also in action tonight are Chelmsford vs Leyton and Folkestone Vs Bromley at half time in each of these games the score was 0-0.
In tomorrow night's game the big question is can Boreham Wood make it six 1-1 draws on the trot when they host Horsham. I will of course be at Windsor to see our game against Slough Town.
The Amazon link on the site continues to do well and so as well as getting a bargain you can also help the Stadium Fund as each purchase that is made results in commission being paid to the club.

The official site technical guru has managed to fix the problems that were existing with the official site and therefore it is all back up now.
Today was a great result with a 4-0 victory but was the performance very different to previous games? speaking to several people after thee games it felt that as we expected today clicked and with the couple of early goals we could relax and play the ball round well.
Even with the game wrapped up we were batting for every ball and trying to get as many goals as possible, we even had one goal disallowed from a great move which from one end to the other for offside and Roscoe hit the post with a penalty and wales hit the ball over the crossbar.
Let's hope the players have now clicked into gear and we can go on a great run now.
The Official Site is currently down to a Technical issue this means that people cant get on to any part of it, I understand this is being looked at and will bee back as soon as possible.
If you couldn't make the game today we Won 4-0 with goals from Roscoe desane, Scott Fitzgerald, Howard and Daly, and Roscoe even managed to hit the post with a penalty
As always the match updates will be in operation from around 14:30 with the team news followed by the action from kick off to the final whistle, so if you have access to a computer but cant get the Radio Wdon Audio feed, you can follow the text details by clicking the link above.
The initial result of Monday's Man Of The match vote is as follows: -
1st - Wes Daly 7.08
2nd - Steve Wales 6.62
3rd - Andy Little 6.60
The full result and graph will be posted on Sunday and the Folkestone Man Of The Match vote will open when I get in tonight.
Sorry for no updates over the past few day's it's just things's have been really busy for me and therefore I haven't had a chance to do any.
