At the start of the meeting it was announced that AFC Wimbledon Financial Guru Erik Samuelson will be stepping down once this years financial accounts have been completed, this was a shock to everyone present.
Erik explained that he felt he had come to the end of his part, from assisting in the early days on the club, to overseeing the purchase of Kingsmeadow, the Share Issue and the current healthy position he thought it was time to start enjoying his retirement that he started 3 years ago rather than currently volunteering around 70 hours a week at present.Erik did confirm that he will still be involved in the club in some way. As with so many people involved in the club Erik has played a huge part in the club and cant say thanks enough for all he has done.
Well tonight that was the question that was being made and in the end it was a clear case of taking what the banker offered, in this case the Dons Trust Membership and then the AFCW plc shareholders both unanimously voted to accept the proposal to seek out a loan facility from Barclay's Bank plc, first for the value of £400,000 to pay off Mr Khosla and potentially an additional £200,000 for additional use for example the second lease and other potential ground improvements that will be needed to help us reach the ground grading requirements that may be needed for higher leagues.
It is expected that the final paperwork will be completed by the middle May this year, and it's possible that the amount we borrow could be lower than the current level of £400,000 as any early season ticket money proceeds will go towards the current "Mr Khosla" debt.
The deal will mean we start paying 2.5% less interest and within 10 years the debt will be paid off.
The club were also handed an additional £20,000 in Dons Trust Bonds Tonight which yet again shows the commitment of our club. A big thank you to all the members of the Financial Working Group who were involved in all the aspects of sorting out the details of the arrangement.I have received a request to help someone with their Dissertation, it's from Toby Armstrong who's a 3rd year student at Exeter University and am undertaking a dissertation on the importance of football in the construction of local identities. I am using AFC Wimbledon as my case study.
His survey is very easy to complete and should only take a couple of minutes to complete, if you would like to complete it and possibly help someone in their education please click here. If you pop by Toby good luck hope it goes well.
Thursday night see's the big Dons Trust / AFCW plc EGM where the subject of the proposed Barclays loan will be discussed and voted on. Lets hope that we have a good turnout for the meeting at Kingsmeadow which starts at 19:30.
I have made a couple of changes to "The Final Countdown 2006" spreadsheet and it now take's into account goal Difference, Goals Scored in placing teams in the league table and then in Play-off's it will now allow you to add in extra time result and penalty results, the option appears if the score at the end of normal time is level.
To Download the sheet click here.
This weekend the World Cup will "officially" get under way and you can have a sneak preview in advance. On Saturday the Dons Trust will be launching a summer fundraiser based on predicting the scores in each of the world cup games, it's based on an Excel spreadsheet again and you can read the rules and the idea by clicking the link below, if when it loads it asks about "Macro's" select disable.
Everyone seems to be asking questions about what do teams need to do to get in the play-off's, when are the play-off's and who will go up, well now is a chance if you have Excel to play predictor with the remaining games for the top 8 teams, all you need to do is download the very small file here and then enter each of the scores for the remainder games in the box and it will show you the league table as the results go in and the teams in the play-off's enter the play-off scores for the time being you will need to put a higher score in for the team who will win the game even if you think one side will win in extra time or on penalties, I will try and solve this on Wednesday night, and also it's doesn't consider goal difference if teams are level but that will also be looked at.
If you have any questions or suggestions please drop me a line, and I will answer them. Hope you enjoy it and we will see how good everyone is.
Three games tonight and one very popular result tonight.

Following the success of the last survey that I ran on the site I have been asked to run a second survey, it should take a couple of minutes to complete and doesn't require any personal details, so if you would like to help the club by completing it please click here
Tomorrow evening I should be issuing an Excel Spreadsheet that will allow you to work out every permutation of results and how it could change the Ryman Premier Table at the end of the season. It's in the final stages of testing and smarting up a bit but I am sure you will enjoy it and find it of use.

The Man Of The Match vote for today's game is now open please click the link below to cast your vote: -
This morning their was a very disappointed supporter sitting on the other side of the world, although he had just won a silver medal in the commonwealth games, lets hope that this evening he can raise a smile at not only what he has done but the fact that the team he supports won 5-1 and are now sitting 4th in the league.
With the top four being involved in games involving each other we knew that a positive result could see us progress up the table. It didn't take long for us to get our first goal and it was Paul Barnes who was on the score sheet on just 10 minutes and just 15 minutes later he had got ours and his second of the afternoon. Wealdstone got a goal back 10 minutes before half time and the teams went in at 2-1 to us with us well on top.
In recent weeks it has been discussed about the "four" count and this was in evidence at the start of the second half, basically when ever the other side kick off the players are told they mustn't allow them more than "Four" passes before we win the ball, it's put out of play and as Wealdstone kicked off the second half you could hear our bench shouting the command and within four passes we had won the ball.
3 minutes later and we were 3-1 up when Antony Howard connected to a Wes Daly corner and as the defender tried to clear it off the line it went into the back of the net and meant almost another £100 to the ground fund.
This meant we could relax but their was still almost half the game to play but with just under 19 minutes left we got our fourth goal of the afternoon and Paul Barnes became the first AFC Wimbledon player to score a league hat-trick in almost 2 season. Even before we had time to finish celebrating this goal and it was Shane Smeltz's turn to be on the score sheet as we got our 5th of the season.
As the full time whistle went we knew we had done what we needed and then the scores started to come through from the other grounds and the news of Fisher beating Heybridge, Braintree beating Hampton and Walton & hersham drawing with Chelmsford meant we moved up to 4th place.
Unfortunatley Darran Langley was beaten in the final of the light-flyweight division of the Commonwealth games boxing, this is the second time this has happened to Darren after he got the silver medal back in 2002 in Manchester, but it's an incredible achievement one for anyone to win a medal at a Commonwealth games but to do it at back to back games really does deserve respect.
We look forward to seeing Darran at Kingsmeadow before the season is over so we can show our thanks and respect for what he has done.
This afternoon the Matchday Service will be in operation and after I missed the away game in midweek I fully appreciate how much people are in the dark whilst waiting for any sort of news from the game, so I will try and provide regular texts all the way through the game. To follow the action please click the matchday link above.
The result of Tuesday nights's Man Of The Match vote is as follows: -
Shane Smeltz: 17 votes 38.64%
Luke Garrard: 11 votes 25.00%
Anthony Howard: 6 votes 13.64%
Dwayne Plummer: 4 votes 9.09%
Scott Curley: 3 votes 6.82%
Andy Little: 1 vote 2.27%
Dave Sargent: 1 vote 2.27%
Tony Battersby: 1 vote 2.27%
Tomorrow afternoon we make the trip across London and most of us will be departing late morning to get to the game for Kick Off but rather than having a nice lay-in why not get up early and cheer Darran Langley on in the Commonwealth games Boxing as he fights for the Gold medal. The fight will be live on BBC and is due to start at 08:00 UK time. I'm sure we all wish Darran the best.
A number of games of note on Saturday with the top 4 involved in games involving them in a 1st vs 4th and 2nd Vs 3rd Battle.

Although the information I have provided on the proposed "Barclays Loan" has proved very popular, and I hope of some use, the club has now issued a very in depth document over on the official site, as you may be aware part of the delay for this being issued was the great news that Barclays have removed one of the requirements that we would have to achieve each year in terms of cash flow, It's a long document but well worth reading and also includes some estimates of potential financial performance over the next few years. The story is in the news section of the official site but the actual document can be downloaded and read at the by clicking here.
On Saturday we are back off to North West London for the game against Wealdstone who currently play at Northwood F. C. if your going by public transport it's a bit of a messy journey as a number of engineering works are taking place this weekend, the best route from South London is to get to Waterloo although please not less trains than usual are running on the Wimbledon to Waterloo Over ground service.
From Waterloo pick up the Bakerloo line to Marylebone you then need to move back to the over ground service that Chiltern trains runs to Harrow on the Hill, although you will now be aboveground you must return to the London Underground service on the Metropolitan line to Northwood Hills. From Waterloo this should take about 50 minutes the ground is then about a 10 minute walk, come out the station turn right and cross the road walk to the main road junction and turn left then take the chestnut Avenue turning about 4 turnings on the left down and that takes you to the ground.
Although thee trip isn't nice as straight forward as some we have had this season it would be great to have a nice large number of supporters making the trip and cheering the lads on at this major point of the season.

Tonight we won 2-1 at Harrow Borough after Shane Smeltz scored after just 3 minutes it looked like the points were wrapped up when Wes Daly scored with around 20 minutes left but straight away Harrow scored and it was a nervous final 20 minutes for those of us not at the game, but with Walton & Hersham losing at Heybridge Swifts 2-1 we have now moved above Walton as well as staines to 5th place.
Sorry to report that their will be no Matchday Service tonight as I am unable to get to Harrow. I will be informed of any goals and will post details of them but they will be all, I expect the Matchday service to be back in full operation on saturday for the trip to Harrow's near neighbours Wealdstone.

If you are making the trip to Harrow on Tuesday night the Harrow site has some good instructions for getting to the ground and you can view them by clicking here. If you are attending the game please remember that kick off is due to be 19:30 and not the usual 19:45 that we are used to.
Earlier in the week I added some comments that may help you decide which way you will vote in the upcoming AFCW plc / Dons Trust EGM. You can read the article here. Since I have put this up a couple of people have pointed out that if we weren't to pay the monthly interest under the current "Mr Khosla" loan we could also have the ground reclaimed.
Yesterday afternoon around 32 people took part in the Donor session at Kingsmeadow Fitness Center and signed up to possibly be able to help people who need in the future. Well done if you took part in it and also to the people who were involved in arranging the session.
Don't forget if you are looking to shop online you can always find a good bargain over at amazon.co.uk and if you click any of the links on the site and then buy any items you will also be helping the Dons Trust Stadium Fund as a commission is paid on every purchase.

This afternoon we came away with a brilliant 1-0 victory against Heybridge Swifts, Heybridge should of taken the lead in the opening minutes when they had a brilliant chance from just 3 yards but somehow the striker managed to miss his shot which would of been into an empty net.
The goal came in the final minute of the half and good link up play by Paul Barnes and Simon Sobihy saw a cross come over to Dwayne Plummer who calmly placed the ball into the back of the net.
The second half saw us continue to battle away and play well and we made sure we kept a clean sheet and therefore the 3 points.
After two games away from the action i'm pleased to say that the Matchday service should be back in full swing this afternoon for the big game against Heybridge Swifts. The team news should be posted by about 114:45 and then all the action from kick off at 15:00 to follow the action please click the matchday button above.

The Surrey FA Web site is suggesting that both Semi-Final's will be played on Tuesday 4th April 2006, the games are: -
Ashford Town (Middx) Vs AFC Wimbledon
Kingstonian vs Carshalton Athletic
This may be a provision date for the game but with the games due to be played between 20th March and 4th April. Once the game is confirmed for this date I will add it to the fixture list.
On Saturday lunchtime you could play a big part in potentially help save someone's life, an AFC Wimbledon Fan has arranged for a clinic of the "Anthony Nolan Trust" to be held at the fitness center at Kingsmeadow, the clinic will run from 11:30 to 14:30 as you may be aware the Anthony Nolan Trust deals with people who are suffering with conditions like Leukaemia and they try and find people that have matching Bone Marrow and could possible be suitable to transfer some Bone Marrow to an infected patient.
As well as providing information on Saturday if you would like to be considered to be added onto the register, you will first need to complete a form, that will confirm if you are healthy and if so you will need to provide a Blood sample this will be taken by a specialist for later examination.
The people that are most required to join the register are as follows: -
The criteria for joining the register is very important, please publish New donors must be aged between 18- 40yrs old, and in good health, weigh over 8 stone, not be severely overweight and be willing to donate stem cells to ANY patient they may ever match.
Key target groups: male donors, young donors and donors from all ethnic minority backgrounds. More donors are sought due to shortages from these vital groups. So if you fall into any of these groups and would like to be considered or just get more information, please pop over to the Fitness Saturday on Saturday before the Heybridge Swifts game.If your an AFCW plc shareholder or have read the official site you will be aware of the special meeting that has been scheduled to discuss the proposed "Loan facility from Barclays Bank" if your a Dons Trust member the information should arrive with you in the next day or so. It a very important matter and I have put together some information on how I understand the situation and you can read it by clicking here. It's important that everybody votes on this subject so please make sure that as well as reading this you read all the documentation supplied.

Once again I am not at Kingsmeadow tonight so we wont have any text updates.
As mentioned yesterday I have detailed below how the 56 participants have predicted the League Table could finish at the end of the season, Most teams so far have played 2 games but we have played 3 games and Worthing have played 1 game. I have shown them in the initial order they were in at the start of the competition and then added in the average for everyone, the Minimum and Maximum score that people have predicted, one person didn't predict any Worthing results and that is why the Minimum score is so low.

Following yesterday's results the chance of people getting a full house of correct results were very slim with only two people getting the Staines Vs Maldon Town draw correct. The standings now show 1 person on 12 points, 1 person on 11 and then 8 people on 9 points. Tomorrow night I will be posting the pre-competition predicted standings and this week I am working on getting a match-by match update figures produced so we can see how much change the results are creating to people's predictions.

After we completed the double over Fisher just two weeks ago it's was our turn to be on the end of home and away victories when Chelmsford won 1-0. From listening to the Radio Wdon commentary it appears that the major incidents were a penalty claim in the first half for us that wasn't given. Then in the second half a penalty was awarded to Chelmsford but Andy Little saved it and then 9 minutes later Chelmsford got the only goal of the game.
The Matchday service will only show goals this afternoon as unfortunatley I wont be at the game. I know my service is used by a lot of people especially overseas who cant make the games but i'm not well and unable to get to Kingsmeadow.

Last night was one of them occasions that the supporters their will talk about when we look back on the season, not necessarily for the action on the pitch, but for the conditions off it.
With segregation in place we were initially given 1 block of 32 seats which you had to pay an extra £2.00 each for or a open flat bit of tarmac behind 1 goal and about 30 yards down one side of the pitch. The wind made the temperature seem about minus 5 and of course for the whole 90 minutes was blowing in our faces and everyone behind the goal had the same look on their faces, it was freezing and we must be mad to be standing their.
In the first half Margate had the wind behind them and it was really strong so for us playing into it was really difficult, the half had few chances but it was almost a case of playing out the half and using the wind in the second half.
At half time everyone behind the goal rushed to the tea-bar not to buy anything just to get some of thee warmth that was being generated, in fact a few people offered to help out behind the counter to get even warmer, two questions about the Tea Bar, why did they advertise Candy Floss when it wasn't available and why were they trying to sell ice creams? I don't think they had much demand in that department.
The second half we used the wind really well, and on 73 minutes the ball was played to Dwayne just inside the box and he composed himself and hit the ball under the keeper and into the back of the net, it looked like the keeper got something on it but the power took it in, with us behind the goal going mental Dwayne was rightly over the moon and it looked like he was going to run round the back of the goal to be with the fans but he ran across the goal and when the celebrations finished the ref booked him, typical.
We had a couple more chances and the rest of the team all did their jobs really well and made sure that the points were coming back up what seemed like every motorway in the south east of England.
The nicest touch of the evening was on the final whistle the players came straight over to the fans and then down the front of the terrace someone was high fiving all the supporters as he approached it was Dave Anderson he made sure he thanked every body behind the goal and I am sure that if he could of he would of thanked everyone in the stand as well, after a freezing cold night it was a great way to finish a memorable night, and then we were back on our lovely warm transport to thaw out and the journey home.
The Matchday service should be in operation from around 19:30 tonight with team news followed by all the action as it happens from kick off.
To follow thee action please click the Matchday link above.

As at 15:00 yesterday I had 56 valid predictions for the competition and although Worthing's game was called off 4 people managed to get 6 out of the 7 games right, although technically everyone should get a point less as us and Braintree obviously played each other.
The 4 people with 6 out of 7 were Jack Chesterman, Jon West, Tintin and Soundman all four of them were caught out by the Bromley vs Heybridge result one way or another. 30 people so far are on 5 points, 11 people on 4 points and 7 on 3 points and 4 on 2 points.
Later today I will produce a table that shows the average predicted final table.
The Man of The Match vote for this afternoon's game is now open please click the link below to cast your vote, with us being in action on Tuesday evening the vote will close at around kick off time and the Margate vote will open on Wednesday evening.
This afternoon I think we have viewed the 2005/06 Ryman Premier League Champions in action although we matched them during the game and had as many good chances as them I think they will remain at the top of the table until the end of the season.
Like most teams they were very organised but unlike other teams we have seen this season they didn't seem to have any spell in the game where they switched off. A point could end up being better for them but the large traveling support left talking about what a good performance and if luck had been a bit kinder we maybe could of come away with all 3 points.
The past two games have seen very good performances against the top two sides and we have ended up with 4 points out of 6 it's important that we take this good level into the remaining games starting at Margate on Tuesday night.
This afternoon I hope to bring you a matchday service from Braintree, the reason I say hope to is that for the home game I planned to and then didn't even get to see the game as was struck down with the bug going round at the moment.
The service should start around 14:45 with team news and then all the action in this vital match.
To follow the action click the Matchday link above.
I have now added the prediction verdicts for the Braintree Vs AFC Wimbledon game this afternoon, please see the full list below.

For the past week I have been inviting you to predict the remaining results for the current top 8 teams, well although the deadline for entering the competition is 15:00 UK time on Saturday I have already received 50 entries and therefore I will post the predictions for 6 of the teams, the other two is the game involving us and Braintree and I will post these just before I depart for the game tomorrow morning.
Some of the current figures don't add up to 50 as some of the entrants made slight mistakes on their forms, I will try and sort these out with the people before kick off. I have listed the predicted outcome in the order of the current table, and the predictions are the outcome for the Featured team (in Bold) in that line.

It's not to late to join in as long as the e-mail reaches me by Saturday afternoon you will be included
With just a couple of day's left to enter the Run In competition, already over 35 entries have been submitted so if you wish to have a go at predicting the remaining games involving the top 8 teams click here. Please make sure you enter your name and e-mail address.
If you submit your entry by Friday evening I will produce a weekend prediction league for each of the games showing how many people predict each result so you can have an idea what the other people taking part predict.
Although our Surrey Senior Cup game has been postponed this week, due to the ground having very high terrace steps, two of the quarter final games have now been completed, this first saw Kingstonian's progress after winning on penalties on against Leatherhead and last night Carshalton Athletic won at Walton & Hersham and will now visit Kingsmeadow to play Kingstonian's in the Semi Final.
In our half of the draw Working and Ashford Tow (Middx) meet on Monday night and so when we get round to playing Guildford either team know who they will be visiting in the Semi Final.
If your heading to Braintree for this weekend's game involving the league leaders and ourselves like I hope a lot of us are, you can find a lot of information regarding the game on both our own official site and also Braintree's official Site.
