The figures for "Target Top Six" have been updated and still make nice reading, you can view them by clicking the link above.
On Monday of this week the first stages of a New Library got under way in Raynes Park, The Mayor of Merton was present to put a time capsule into the ground with various current day memories of the Merton Area. AFC Wimbledon were asked if we would like to place anything in the Capsule and we sent along a pennant that reads "AFC Wimbledon - 2004/05 - Ryman League Division 1" it was placed into the Capsule by Rob Ursell and Chris Gell and below you can see them in some new headgear.
Click on the picture to see a larger version of the picture and the text that was in this weeks Wimbledon Guardian.
For people not aware of what a Time Capsule is the idea is that items from the current day are buried and then many years down the line people can look back on the history of the area when it is dug up.
The Man Of The Match poll for today's game is now open please click below to vote: -
The Major point of note in the 0-0 draw with Bashley today was the fact that we had a penalty around 10 minutes from the end and although the keeper did well to block Rob Ursell's shot the rebound was somehow forced wide when it looked like it was an empty net. I thought the awarding of the penalty was a bit harsh as it looked like a clear handball by Ursell just before he was fouled so perhaps justice was done? So after the disappointment of the 0-0 draw the results came through and once again we were still 11 points clear and a game in hand on the teams directly behind us as Horsham and Met Police had a 1-1 draw but this snippet from the game caught my eye from a Horsham point of view "We then had a penalty with 10 mins or so to go. Maybe a bit harsh on the Coppers, but Jamie Taylor saw his effort saved and the rebound went wide."
The full results can be seen below and the league tables and animations have been updated. The text update service is in operation for this afternoon and should start around 14:30 once I get the team news.
You can access the updates by clicking the matchday button at either the top or side of the screen.

On Monday of this week Jake was interviewed for the "QPR Official Site" about life at AFC Wimbledon and you can watch and listen what he has to say by clicking here the file size is around 5.7mb but worth seeing.
I have managed to update everything on the site after this weeks including Target Top Six and also the animations which people seem to be enjoying.
Very Quick update as it's now almost 3am and i need some sleep. Top day that saw us end up winning 2-1 after an own goal and a Richard Butler special, before Newport pulled one back.
A full update will be up on Thursday at some point but for now the Man Of The Match poll is open so please click below to vote: -The Matchday service will of course be in operation tonight and in fact from mid afternoon as I plot our journey over land and sea. If you haven't used the updates before click the matchday button at the top and side of the screen and follow the action as it happens.
I will also be taking my camera over to the island so watch out for a few pictures as well on my return.Well this afternoon a mini invasion of the Isle of Wight will take place. It's not the date we all wanted but now it's here those of us lucky to go will enjoy it.

Just advance warning on the week, at the moment the Dulwich Man Of The Match vote is still open and will be until around 19:45 on Wednesday night. With us playing on Wednesday night the text Updates will be in operation and I expect that the number of people reading them could be above the normal high levels. Once I get home at Silly o'clock (around 03:00 Thursday morning) I will start the Man Of The Match vote that will run to Saturday morning, Add in a couple of league games tomorrow night and you have another busy week.
I have updated the figures on Target Top Six for this week and you can view them by clicking the link at the top of the page. This afternoon I have been working out the projected points for the complicated system since the start of the season and I will add them in during the week, for all to see.
Following a request on the message board I will also be adding a table to show what games match what number on the chart, this should appear during the week. The Man Of The Match Poll is now open and you can vote by clicking below: -
Not only one of the catchphrases of Del Boy but also the motto of the "S.A.S" who's aim is to get in get the job done and get out again, well that was clearly what today was about and although not as good a game as last weeks Bromley Match we ended up with the same result.
If you look back through the history books the mark of a good side are teams that can grind out results when not playing at their best and also win with the 1-0 score line. Well we have managed that in out last two games so lets hope that is a good sign. The two major talking points of the game was the award of a penalty for Dulwich given by the linesman which Jake Cole saved low to his right. This seemed to change the game in that dulwich were deflated by it and we were more out to get the victory and then in the 84th Minute Richard Butler finished one of his trademark goals where he just keeps running all game then fires past the keeper. This afternoon we make the trip to Dulwich. The text update service will be in operation from around 14:30 when I get the team news. If you haven't used the matchday service click either of the matchday links at the top or side of the screen and you will get live updates in text format as the game progresses. The page will also refresh for you.

The official site has news of the signing of Mark Cooper, at the end of last season Mark got a really bad injury whilst playing in a cup final for Hendon and Mike Rayner the club phyiso has been making sure Mark's rehabilitation had been going well, once Mark was ready to play again he went and played a few games for Chertsey and now he is back to match fitness he has signed for us.
As well as being a boost for us and him it could also be a boost for Matty Everard as he can see how a player has come back from a major injury thanks to Mikes watchful eye.If you haven't visited the new Animated section of itmustbedons you wont have seen the new people who from now on will be part of the service well here is the group photo of them: -
The Man Of The Match Poll for Tuesday Night's game against Kingstonian is still open and will be until Saturday morning so if you haven't voted yet and wish to please click below: -
On Saturday we travel to Dulwich a ground AFC Wimbledon played our second ever game at. It's a nice simple journey if you are going by train with the journey taking about 25 minutes from Wimbledon. Trains depart from Platform 9 at 23 and 53 minutes past the hour you will need to change at Tulse Hill where it's about a 4 minute wait and then get off the train at East Dulwich, come out the station and turn left walk up the hill and then turn left into the road that leads into Sainsbury's and the ground is next door to it. For trains on the Journey home trains depart at 21 and 51 minutes past the hour and after changing at tulse Hill again and you should be back in Wimbledon at around 29 or 59 minutes past the hour.
If you are planning to drive although a large sainsbury's car park is next to the ground it is apparently for shoppers only and they do have a clamping operation in force, the roads in that area can be very busy on Saturday's as well.Time to add a new fun feature to the site. By clicking on the link here you will be taken to the animated part of itmustbedons.com. Over the next few days I will be making a few changes to it to improve it, including the speed and other features.

After tonight's 2-1 victory over Kingstonian we now face the winners of next Tuesday's Chipstead Vs Crystal Palace and we will be at home. All the goals came in the first quarter of the game. First Gareth Graham had a shot on 7 minutes from the edge of the box that seemed to take a deflection through a crowded box and ended up in the back of the net. Kingstonian's were level on 11 minutes when a free kick on the half way line was played into the box a bit of confusion allowed the Kingstonian player a shot and he leveled the score. On 23 minutes Michael Woolner scored a lovely goal after a strong bit of persistent running and riding challenges, it was a similar finish to Richard Butlers against Bromley.
The game was eagerly fought on both side with a few crunching tackles but both keepers made some good saves to see no further goals added and a 2-1 victory for AFC Wimbledon. The result of the Man Of The Match poll from the weekend's win over bromley is as follows: -
The Whole Team 34 Votes 26.36%Tonight we take on Kingstonian in the Surrey Senior Cup with the winners being home to Crystal Palace, the team will have a couple of changes from Saturday's line up as both Jake Cole and Mark Jones were not registered before the deadline for the game, so it looks like Paul Smith and Ryan Gray will return for the game.
The text updates will be in operation and these will start from around 19:30 with the team news, so if you cant make the game hope you enjoy them.Three other games tonight are due to take place across the ryman league and FA Trophy 3rd round Replay. The Trophy match sees Tonbridge Angels visit Walton & Hersham with the winners away to Stamford. Two league games due to take place and they are below with predictions: -

Over the weekend this website celebrated it's 6th Birthday, it was launched on 15th January 1999 and you can read what was happening back then by clicking here. As ever thanks to everyone who visits the site and hope you find it of use.
U am always looking for add-on to put on to the site that will improve the AFC Wimbledon experience for people who either are not able to get to games or people who use the site alongside going to games, and with this in mind I should have a big announcement later in the week for people to enjoy so keep the eyes peeled.I know I have been plugging the Amazon Link on the site for the last couple of months well today you might understand why. Today Amazon.co.uk Paid £143.60 into my bank account and therefore a cheque for £143.60 will be handed over tomorrow to the The Dons Trust For "The Stadium Fund" so to everyone who has purchased something thank you very much and I have put the link below in case you want to have a look around and help contribute to the ground fund.
With the game against Kingstonian on Tuesday evening the current man of the match vote for the Bromley game will close then so if you haven't voted yet and wish to please do so by clicking below: -
One of the best sites out in Internet world if you like stats is Tony Kempster's Site this site has results from almost every game played in football in England and is a work of art but every now and then Tony comes out with some mind blowing information, this time last year he was predicting where clubs would end up following the reorganisation in non league football, well he has started the same for next season already and the predicted results can be seen here. The results are not as straight forward as you may think as 3 three teams from each of the step four leagues replace 3 teams at each of the step 3 clubs so a couple of teams may even have to move from for example Southern Prem to Isthmian Prem, confused you will be.
Over the past couple of days various sites have had discussions about the Hastings United game on the 19th February about the prices that they had announced for Admission to the game. The discussion started On Wednesday 12th after Hastings United stated on their website that prices would be increased for the game "in line with the admission prices in evidence when United played at Kingsmeadow" but the prices for concessions and under 16's would be £6 and £5 plus an additional £2 for everyone to stand. They also announced that home supporters who attended the home matches in the run up to our match would get a voucher for normal price admission.
Then on Friday they explained the reason for the price increase and stated that "providing extra facilities and staff costs money, as does the extra security, policing and other facilities that will be needed" they also corrected the prices to say that prices would be the same as at Kingsmeadow for concessions and Under 16's. Then on Saturday they issued a new statement and confirmed that the prices being charged would now in fact be the normal matchday prices that they charge. As we haven't had a Poll for a Few weeks I thought I would do one on the Hastings "price changes" with the question "Would Hastings Increased Prices have affected you decision to go to the game?" to cast your vote please click here. The figures for Target Top Six have been Updated and can be viewed by clicking here.
To give you an idea the six teams currently projected to finish in the top six (in no particular order) for each system are as follows: -Simple: - Bromley, Met Police, Horsham, Walton & Hersham, Tooting & Mitcham and AFC WimbledonJust the weekly remind of the Wonderful Amazon store which by making purchases will in most cases save you money but also earn money for the Stadium Fund. As well as Books, CD and DVD don't forget amazon have loads of electronic products so if you are looking for a purchase don't forget to click on the Amazon Button on any page and have a browse.
They are the two words that have to be used with regards to this afternoons game. It was a game that everyone knew would be a tight game with Bromley being top of the form guide and us being second in the guide. With two players making AFC Wimbledon Debuts in goalkeeper Jake Cole and left back Mark Jones it was going to be a tough afternoon but Jake Cole showed his quality when he pulled off a stunning save what went out for a corner when Bromley had a shot from about 15 yards that was heading across goal and he dived to turn round the post.
Action took place at both ends of the pitch but at half time the score was still 0-0. with AFC Wimbledon having defended the West Bank end of the ground the majority of supporters were already in place to cheer the lads on and the second half continued to be a top rate performance. On 62 minutes the ball was played out to Leon McDowall on the wing he then played the ball in front of Richard Butler and Buts managed to beat the defended his first shot was parried by the keeper and richard could then fire into an empty net. The whole place went mental and rightly so. The final 30 minutes continued a entertaining game but with no more goals so we moved 8 points clear and still have 2 games in hand on second place. The man Of The Match vote is now open and this week one of the options is "The Whole Team" please click below to vote: -Another of them strange days in Ryman 1 where at the end of the games today only 1 of this morning's top 7 won, that was us although Walton & Hersham drew in the FA Trophy. The full results are below and the league tables have been updated.
The nearest team that have played the same number of games as us is Walton and they are 12 points behind us, all the rest we have game's in hand on.This afternoon we take on Bromley in a really big and important game, although Bromley are currently 6th in the table they have won 7 of there last 8 matches only losing 2-1 to Tooting & Mitcham last Saturday. So lets get behind the lads and get one of them cracking atmospheres going at the Meadow. The text Updates will be in operation from around 14:30 this afternoon so if you cant make the game I hope they will help in keeping you in touch with what's going on, click on the matchday links at the top and side of the page.

Three player changes have been announced today, First Wes Goggin has rejoined Walton & Hersham, would like to wish Wes all the best. On the inside of things we have signed a replacement for Wes as Ryan Gray is suspended tomorrow in Mark Jones, Mark started off in the Wimbledon FC youth team and then moved to Kingstonian and also staines Town whilst at Kingstonian he made 114 appearances with 77 starts his complete record for them can be seen here, Dave has also been able to bring in a keeper by the name of Jake Cole and although only 19 years of age he has made a number of appearances on the bench for the Queens Park Rangers first team including last weeks FA Cup match against Nottingham Forest. His profile from Queens Park Rangers can be seen here.
Sorry about no update on Thursday but as I am sure you will have noticed AFC Wimbledon will host Cray Wanderers in the 3rd round of the cup and it looks like the game will be played on Tuesday 1st February 2005. The full draw is as follows: -

Tonight we went out of the London Senior Cup 4-0 against a strong Fisher Athletic side. Fishers goals came either side of half time, on 41 and 48 minutes and then 2 in the final 5 minutes of the match. Although Disappointing to go out and miss out on a possible chance of revenge over Hendon I am sure most people would prefer us to get a result Saturday rather than tonight.

This afternoon the Ladies lost 2-0 to Arsenal in what was a brilliant performance the fear before the game was that it could be another heavy score line but to keep the current cup holders and one of the best teams in the country down to just 2 goals the ladies deserve a lot of credit.
So were you hoping for that DVD box set or CD for Christmas but it hasn't been delivered? Well don't forget that the Amazon store has loads of bargains and also a bit of a January sale going on at the moment so if you fancy buying them for yourself click on one of the links below and you will also be raising money for the stadium fund. Amazon of course do more than just DVD and CD but the banners below give you a bit of an idea.
It also looks like in the build up to Christmas just under £150 will be raised for the stadium so thanks to everyone who bought something and the money will be passed on once it's paid out at the end of the month.
I have updated the figures for "Target Top Six" and you can view the projections by clicking here.
After the shock result in the Men's FA Cup match yesterday where non-league Exeter had a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford against Manchester United this afternoon sees a similar type match up when current Ladies FA Cup holders Arsenal take on our Ladies side, the last couple of times they have played in friendly games the score line has been very 1 sided but good luck to the ladies this afternoon and sorry I wont be at the game which kicks off at 13:00.
The Man Of The Match vote for today's game at Fleet Town is now open and you can vote by clicking below: -
After the obvious disappointment last weekend we got back to winning ways in the league thanks to a 3-1 victory away at Fleet Town in a ground which bought back a number of memories of visits to CCL grounds over the past couple of seasons, in fact for people who walked from the station they would of seen a sign pointing out that Hartley Wintney is only just over 3.5 miles away.
Our first goal was a brilliant chase down by richard Butler who forced the keeper to fire the ball against him and although it was heading out towards the throw in line Richard caught it and fired up hill towards goal and into the back of the net before the keeper could get it.Although the score was only 1-0 it was always going to be interesting to see what part the huge slope that we had been playing up would have in the second half as the game progressed it seemed like it was having an impact on the game and 2 quick goals inside a minute for us confirmed the victory first Robert Ursell fired in and then Martin Randall also got on the score sheet in a similar move. Fleet stepped it up a bit and should of had a penalty around 4 minutes from the end from where I was standing where from a free kick it looked like the goalmouth scramble was eventually cleared by at least 1 or 2 AFC Wimbledon players hands. Fleet got a goal when a minute later a shot from close range just went under Paul Smith to give a final score of 3-1.This afternoon we visit Fleet in Ryman league action the text updates will be in operation and can be viewed by clicking the matchday buttons at the top or side of the screen, they should start around 14:30 when I get the team news, so if you cant make the game I hope it helps in passing the afternoon.
The result from the Man Of The Match Poll from Monday's game at Dover is as follows: -
Paul Smith: 21 votes 50.00%The information I put up yesterday regarding train travel to Fleet has now proved to be incorrect so I am reprinting a post made by "Soundman" who knows everything about the running of South West Trains that explains what trains are running and the best ones to get: -
Due to Engineering works between New Malden and Esher there will be a reduced service and diversions on Saturday for Fleet town. To get to Woking from Wimbledon you must travel to Clapham Junction and change to platform 5/6 for trains to Woking. Fleet trainsBelow are a list of the Fixtures which will be played in Ryman 1 tomorrow and I have now added the predictions that have been given by the two bits of software I use The football Database, League Pad and the soccer Spreads Spreadsheet, will be interesting to see how they perform.

This weekend we travel down to Fleet where by the sound of it they are putting on a number of facilities for us both pre and post match. They are providing an heated outdoor marquee where they will be showing the FA Cup game between Sheffield United and Aston Villa. More information can be found on the Fleet Town website and can be viewed by clicking here.
If your traveling by public transport it's important to be aware that engineering works are taking place in the Surbiton area and therefore the normal train service isn't in operation, looking at the online table that seems to reflect these changes it suggest a train from Wimbledon to Surbiton departing at 22 minutes past the hour and then the 00 from Surbiton to fleet to arrive at 38 minutes past the hour, so the total journey time is 1 hour 16 minutes, based on this information I would recommend the 12:22 or 13:22 at latest as the ground is about a mile from the station. I may have some updated information on Friday night and will therefore put this on if I get it.The Man Of The Match poll for Monday's game is still open and will be until Saturday morning so if you haven't voted yet and wish to please do so by clicking below: -
RESULT NOW IN - Croydon FC 0 Met Police 2
Just one game tonight in the Ryman League Division one as Met Police travel to Croydon F. C. With the two clubs being an almost opposite ends of the table, Met 3rd from Top and Croydon FC bottom of the table it should be a game that the Met win fairly easily, and a game Met need to win with it being so tight at the to end of the table and will mean they have played a game more than the other sides.I was planning to go to this game but now wont be but will post the score and updated league table once it's over. After the quick games a chance to get back on track with Man Of The Match polls now and launch the Dover Athletic Bryco Cup Man Of the match Vote, please click below to vote and this will remain open until Saturday morning.

This afternoon we won 2-1 at Dover in the 3rd round of the Bryco Cup thanks to goals from Andy Frost and Robert Ursell but the bad news is that Chris Gell was badly challenged and required to be stretched off, initial reports are that although their was concern about Chris breaking a bone in his leg this may not be the case and it could just be very bad bruising.

Whilst I am sure that the premiership clubs will all be congratulated for the amounts collected it's interesting to see some of the figures donated at Non-League level these include (all approximate figures) £500+ at Wealdstone, Tonbridge Angles £450, Slough Town £800 when you think of the crowd levels at non league games this most probably averages out at over £1 per person. So well done to people at non-league clubs as well.I have updated the "Target Top Six" figures and it now has it's own page and I have added a graph. To Vote for the whyteleafe Man Of The Match please click below: -So a new year starts but not too well on the pitch today with a 2-1 defeat to Whyteleafe and our first home league defeat in 22 months. In terrible swirling conditions we took the lead on 39 minutes when a brilliant cross from Leon Mcdowall was headed in by Ryan gray. We should have gone in 1-0 up but with the last kick of the first half Whyteleafe via Paul Scott leveled the score. The second half saw more of a tight game but after Danny Naisbitt had to be replaced in goal by Paul Smith following an injury a mistake in defence game Mark Tompkins an easy chance to give Whyteleafe the points on 81 minutes.
So a disappointing performance and result but I don't think anyone thought we would go through the whole season undefeated at home so lets hope in May we are looking as this being our only home defeat.Happy New Year everyone, this afternoon we take on Whyteleafe at Kingsmeadow in a 3pm kick off. Radio Wdon will be in operation as well as the text updates which can be viewed by clicking either of the matchday links at the top or side of this page.
