30/09/04 - SGM & Accounts
At Kingsmeadow tonight a Special General Meeting is being held to discuss various issues and also the possibility of looking into selling additional shares to individuals. Documentation regarding the evening can be read by clicking here.
On Wednesday the Latest Management Accounts were issued and they can be read
here a couple of things make interesting reading on the Accounts but the main one is in the commentary regarding Player Bonuses, this states that the budget has been based on us getting 84 points. I have made some assumptions on this figure I would presume that this is a figure that the Team Management and the Board feel can get us at least a play off place at the end of this season. It's hard to do a direct comparison on Last years Ryman 1 League as they played 46 games, but doing some basic calculations I have worked out the following: -
84 points over a 42 game season equals 2 points per game.
We currently after 10 games have 28 points so 2.8 points per game
The Champions Of Ryman 1 South last season, Lewes got 94 points in 46 games or 2.04 points per game.
3rd place or presumably the top play off place were Windsor & Eton on 91 points or 1.97 Points Per Game
Lets hope that come the end of the season we are paying out over the Budget for both League and Cup Games.
30/09/04 - Under 18's In Action
The Under 18's are at home tonight when they take on Bedfont in a 19:30 kick off at Kingsmeadow, they are currently sitting top of the league and we have already beaten Bedfont 2-0 away this season.
29/09/04 - Victory At Casuals
A comfortable 3-0 victory at Corinthian Casuals tonight with 2 goals from Rob Ursell and one from Richard Butler, but once again a well worked team performance. This now gives us a 2 week break from League action as the Cups take the Main Stage.
If you wish to vote for the Man Of The Match please do so by clicking below: -
29/09/04 - Wednesday Round Up
The results today continued the strange pattern of teams not winning at Home well almost, the only team to win at home Was Croydon Athletic who beat Fleet Town 5-0. Bromley continued there residence of the play off places with a 2-1 away victory at Croydon Whilst Dorking and Newport had a 2-2 draw.

Corinthian Casuals 0-3 AFC Wimbledon
Croydon 1-2 Bromley
Croydon Athletic 5-0 Fleet Town
Newport IOW 2-2 Dorking
29/09/04 - Friends Re-United
As mentioned yesterday I spent the evening Watching Dulwich Hamlet play Whyteleafe and the final score was the same as the number of ex-AFC Wimbledon players on the pitch, Dulwich 2 Whyteleafe 3. Kevin Cooper put Dulwich in front after just 52 seconds before Whyteleafe leveled shortly after by the 6th minute Mark Dulwich were back in front when Kevin scored his second with a looping header. Whyteleafe leveled again before half time and then scored the winner in the second half.
The nice part of the evening was the fact that everyone met in the bar afterwards and a number of AFC Wimbledon fans who went along had a chance to have a chat with the players, So to Danny O, Lewis, Sid's, Coops and Wade cheers and it was nice seeing you all again.
29/09/04 - Hastings Man Of The Match
Just a remind this is your final chance to vote for Man Of The Match from Saturdays game as the vote will close tonight at around kick off, so if you haven't done so yet please vote by clicking below: -
28/09/04 - Ryman Watch
After watching Tooting & Mitcham in there FA Cup Replay last week tonight I am off to see Dulwich Hamlet take on Whyteleafe in a match that could see 5 ex AFC players on display. The suggestion is that as well as Cooper and Falana playing up front for Dulwich Whyteleafe could have added Lee Sidwell and Danny Oakins to there line up along with Lewis Taylor who has played in Whyteleafe last few games.
28/09/04 - Tuesday Fixtures
A full midweek programme this week with 7 games tonight and 4 on Wednesday the list of tonight's games are as follows: -
Banstead Athletic 0-3 Burgess Hill Town
Bashley 1-3 Metropolitan Police
Cray Wanderers 2-2 Ashford Town
Dulwich Hamlet 2-3 Whyteleafe
Hastings United 0-3 Horsham
Leatherhead 1-4 Walton & Hersham
Molesey 1-3 Tooting & Mitcham United
The top clash of the evening from a table point of view is The Met Police visit to Bashley where 6th take on 2nd.
27/09/04 - Casuals On Wednesday
Wednesday night sees us make the trip to Tolworth to take on Corinthian Casuals. Parking is restricted at the ground but the ground is only a short walk from Tolworth train station. Although tickets have been sold by Corinthian Casuals people at the last couple of AFC home games I understand that plenty of tickets will be available on the night, and although they have a small bar there will be a number of refreshment tents for the game.
27/09/04 - The Dons Draw
If you were at Saturday's game you may have seen at half time 3 names and numbers being read out for the first Dons Draw the first person won £600, the second £300 and third £100. The nice thing was that all three winners were at the game and therefore left with the cheque's in there pockets.
The next draw take place on 16th October so make sure that you have entered to do this and see more information about the draw scroll down on the following
link.
27/09/04 - Dons Trust Newsletter
If you are a Dons Trust member you should have received by email or by post over the next few days a copy of the latest Newsletter which brings people up to date on everything that is going on at the moment both on and off the pitch. If you are a Dons Trust member and have access to email make sure you contact the dons trust if you haven't already to make sure you get an email copy of the newsletter as this reduces the cost of producing and sending out.
26/09/04 - Review & Preview
Two things of note first of all a nice report on the Hastings game from Hastings site and you can read that here. Next weeks FA Cup opponents Dunstable Town had a 2-0 home league victory over Team Bath and it looks like one of the danger players could be Tony Francis who has scored in there last two games. Dunstable are not in action this midweek and therefore have a full week to think and plan for our visit next weekend.
26/09/04 - U18 Call Up
This lunchtime Surrey FA U18's play a friendly game against The Army and Antony Myers who plays on the Left Side for the Under 18's is in the squad for Surrey so I would just like to wish Antony (or Freddie as he is known) all the best, and it shows how well the Under 18's are doing as well to get selected at county level after just 6 games.
25/09/04 - Hastings Review and Man Of The Match Vote
As expected Hastings took a long time to ware down but in the end we came away with 3 important points. Prior to the game starting Hastings were hit by a double blow first the goalkeeper who would of started was ruled out with a hamstring injury so Greg Nessling had to start and then Chris Honey who should of started at number 9 "was stuck in traffic" and didn't make it to the ground in time so started on the bench but didn't come on, it was later reported that he was fined £120 for his late appearance.
The first half was fairly tame but we had three good chances to take the lead the first saw a good chance for Robert Ursell but his shot was saved. The second was a Gell effort that was tipped over the bar and then just before half time a Richard Butler effort was also denied us. so the score was level at half time at 0-0 and we started the second half attacking the west bank end of the ground.
Our first goal arrived on 62 minutes following an excellent Robert Ursell pass Richard Butler broke into the box and fired home. 2 minutes later we were 2 up when an Ursell cross saw Butler challenge the keeper and the ball come out to Joe Sheerin chip the ball over the keeper and into the back of the net in an almost identical goal to the one he scored against Walton and Hersham. although we were 2-0 up a bit of the jitters went round the ground on 74 minutes when Hastings pulled it back to 2-1 and everyone began to think "not Leatherhead" again, but this time not only did we manage to keep the goal just to 1 but we also added our own in a last minute "Heading Master Class" from Martin Randall, well I am sure that is what he will say but to most of us it looked like he had dived over the ball and then managed to connect between a combination of his head and face and force the ball over the line, so well done Martin a great goal.
The Man Of The Match Poll is now open please click below to vote: -
25/09/04 - Ryman One Round Up
A strange series of results today with us being the only team in the top 6 to win and only one of the bottom 8 teams failing to pick up points. The full list of results are further down the page but the interesting game was the local derby between Tooting & Mitcham and Dulwich Hamlet where Tooting leveled about 2 minutes before the end (2-2) and then dulwich were awarded a penalty Kevin Cooper stepped up and it was saved but the ref said the keeper had moved so it had to be re-taken, Peter Garland stepped up took it and that was saved as well so it finished 2-2. The results today mean we are 6 points clear of 2nd place and 11 points clear of 7th place.
25/09/04 - Hastings Matchday Service
This afternoon we take on 4th place Hastings in what looks like will be a very tough game, Hastings have only conceded 4 goals in the 8 matches they have played so far and also look useful in attack.
This afternoon
Radio Wdon will be in action live and direct from the meadow as well as my text updates via the links above. From today the added feature has been included that should mean by going to the main updates page you can see updates from Dorking and macclesfield as well.

24/09/04 - Big Change to Updates
Darren who is the geek behind the updates I provide has made a couple of changes and the major one is now the fact that other teams can also provide live updates, this weekend we are expecting updates from the Dorking vs Bashley game as well as the Macclesfield vs Darlington game. The link above and at the side will give you exclusive AFC Wimbledon updates but also provide a link so you can see all the updates on one screen. I hope you enjoy them. There is also a big possibility of other teams joining the system as well so you can keep updated in one place.

24/09/04 - Good Luck & Thanks Lee
The Official Site has announced that Lee Sidwell has left to go to Whyteleafe. Lee Sidwell was voted Player of The Year by itmustbedons.com readers in the 2002/03 season. Good luck Lee
23/09/04 - Travel News For Dunstable
As mentioned the other day Dunstable will not be the most easiest of places to get to next week with the nearest train station being Luton approximately 10 miles away, and then you would need to get a bus to Dunstable. So why not let the club coach take the strain, this will depart from Kingsmeadow at 11:30 and take you straight to the ground and then back to Kingsmeadow afterwards. If you wish to book on the coach please contact the club offices as soon as possible as it looks like we will need to arrange for at least one additional coach.
23/09/04 - More Room At The Meadow
It might only sound like a small increase but the official capacity of Kingsmeadow has been increased from 4,262 to 4,500 with the extra spaces being allowed at the athletics end. As it explains on the official site the decision to increase the capacity isn't one that just the club makes but has to go through several stages of various authorities, so well done to everyone who was involved in proving that we can cope with larger crowds at the Meadow.
22/09/04 - U18 Table Top Victory
Tonight the under 18's were involved in a top of the table clash with Corinthian casuals and the game almost had everything, Two own goals (one for each side), a Sending off and a quality goal to win the game.
The match started well when we took the lead early on after a free kick in our own defending half was flicked on by the defender and over the keeper to put us 1-0 up, before half time we were 2-0 up when Bradley Drake scored and at half time the game looked safe.
Corinthian who were unbeaten going into the game started strongly second half and a misunderstanding between AFC keeper Michael Nicholas and the defence allowed the Corinthian striker to run through and score. the second own goal this time went Corinthians way when a cross was deflected past our keeper and the scores were level.
Before the next goal AFC Wimbledon striker Niall Connery was sent off but this was to see a great battling performance by the boys in yellow and allowed Bradley to score a wonderful goal where he went round about 6 players before firing low into the net. In the end an additional 10 minutes injury time was played before the full time whistle was blown and Nicky and Keith could rightly be proud of the players.
22/09/04 - Good result for Ladies
When you have had a slow start to the season you could do without facing the league leaders who have just won 10-2 in there last game but tonight we played Chelsea away, the game was played at Hampton & Richmond's ground and the result was a 1-1 draw, So well done to everyone involved in this good result.
21/09/04 - Tuesday Night Football
With us not having a midweek first team game this week it a chance to view some other teams, well tonight i am off to see Tooting & Mitcham take on Didcott Town in a FA Cup replay. The Didcott teams include 6 ex Wallingford so it will be interesting to see what both teams are like.
Elsewhere Bromley take on Fisher in a cup replay whilst in the league the game that was abandoned the other week between Met Police and Croydon F. C. will be replayed.
Results - Tooting & Mitcham won 2-0, Bromley won 1-0 and Met Police won 4-0 League table has been updated for the met police game.
20/09/04 - Trophy Ticket Information
Some important news has been announced about the trophy game against Met Police on 9th October 2004 over on the official site and this also includes ticket news. I think the majority of people will be very pleased with this announcement and could mean a long day all round.
20/09/04 - D Is For Dunstable
The FA Cup draw was made this morning and a just after 11am we were pulled out of the hat/bag/bucket just after Dunstable and therefore that is who we will visit on Saturday 2nd October.
Dunstable is just past Luton but apparently the public transport is difficult to get to so once again the club will be running coaches information on this can be found on the official site. Over the next few days I will provide more information on Dunstable who are currently mid table of the Southern Premier League (the out of london version of Ryman Premier).
20/09/04 - FA Site Watch
It looks like The FA Website could be an interesting place to lurk today as two events will be happening. You can find the FA Cup section of the FA Website by clicking here. At 11:00 the draw for the 84 ties will be made it is expected that the full draw will be on the FA Web site by 11:30 I would also imagine that once the draw is known it will be posted on our official Site.
Also on Monday the FA will be launching a Player of the round poll with the prize being £1,000 worth of kit for a local school or local club and the player will also be invited to the FA Cup final next May. If an AFC Wimbledon Player is listed I will of course provide details on how to vote for him over the next week.

As well as the usual donsonline footage of the game that you can find by clicking the link on the left of the screen you can also get a reverse angle look from the film that Dover Athletic recorded from the TV Gantry by clicking here. The Dover footage includes a slow motion replay of one of the disallowed goals and is well worth downloading.
19/09/04 - Thanks From Dover
In all the build up to yesterday's game the Dover Fans came across on various guest books as a really nice bunch and following the game they confirmed that. One of the nicest messages I saw was on Weird and Wonderful World and was as follows: -
Well done. Your team was the best on the day and you deserved your win. If you'd taken your chances the score could have been much greater. Good luck for your next FA Cup game & for the rest of the season. Well impressed with the following today, personally I think you filled the Town End better than Cheltenham, Aldershot, Barrow & even Oxford. It was nice to hear you give the Dover players a hand at the end of the game too. You're a good sporting/vocal set of supporters. WELL DONE - Kicker DAFC
A Big thanks has been also given to everyone who contributed to the Dover Fighting Fund the collection between supporters raised over £1,200 the raffle an extra £120 for each team around £300 from the badge sellers and an AFC Winner of the half time draw also donated £20 from the winnings. It nice to hear praise for the supporters on what turned out to be a brilliant day all round.

18/09/04 - Newport Off
Following today's 1-0 victory at Dover thanks to a 25th minute Richard Butler goal the trip to Newport on 2nd October has now been called off due to the fact that we will be playing in the FA Cup that weekend. No new date has been announced yet and may not be for some time due to all the potential cup action coming up.
Talking of Newport they were in league action today and secured a 2-0 home victory over Whyteleafe.
18/09/04 - What Dave Wants Dave Gets
On Friday Dave Anderson made the following comment on the official Site about today's trip to Dover. -
"Before I came to this club I thought I was aware of how special Wimbledon supporters are, but I've learned so much more about the fans since then. For a cup game, away from home and against a team from a higher level, the team will need everything from the crowd, for as long as possible during the game. So please make it as loud as you can, I'm convinced it could make a difference."Well Dave Asked and Dave got Around 1,000 were in the covered terrace that was behind the goal and the team got 90 minutes noise. And at the end of the game Dave and the players really seemed impressed with the 90 minutes effort that the supporters had put in. So well done everyone who was at the game and cheered the boys on to an important victory.
18/09/04 - Dover Match Day Service
This afternoon I will do my best to keep the updates flowing for anyone who cant make the game but word of warning on these cup games I have a habit of losing it, remember Herne Bay & North Greenford so if it happens can I say sorry in advance. The updates should start from around 2:30. To view them click either the Matchday link at the top or the side and they should make the page auto re-load every 2 minutes.
18/09/04 - 131 Bus Vs The Ferry
Although the FA Cup is very much a regional thing at the moment it has still thrown up a few strange fixtures for today. With us Visiting Dover, Ramsgate Visiting Kingstonian and Folkstone Invicta visiting Raynes Park Vale it has thrown up a strange combination.
Although no games were due in the Ryman League today with both Whyteleafe a Newport IOW being knocked out they have arranged to play the game at Newport tomorrow.
18/09/04 - Leatherhead Man Of The Match Result

17/09/04 - Dover Details
The squad for Dover has been announced on the official site for Tomorrows big FA Cup game and a couple of other things to inform you of. Dover's ground is a decent size ground that holds well over 6,000 people so everyone will be able to get in. Dover have elected to put in segregation partly because they are expecting around 1,000 supporters of there own, therefore you will be unable to switch ends at half time.
As you may have read Dover are in big financial trouble and it is suggested that they need £23,000 before the end of the month or may face closure. To try and help against this they are holding a collection, Golden Goals and Raffle. The Raffle is believed to have at least 2 prizes being a signed ball by each side.
If the game is level after 90 minutes a replay will be played on Tuesday evening at Kingsmeadow with a 19:45 kick off.
17/09/04 - Under 18's On Form Again
On Thursday night the Under 18's came away with a 2-0 victory when a goal after 20 minutes from Chris King who scored the winner last week converted a very good Garry Dennis cross. Just before half time Chris King had to be replaced. In the second half both keepers performed well and in fact ended up being men of the match but with 4 minutes to go Bradley Drake scored our second to wrap up the points.
17/09/04 - Dave Dials Dowie
As you may have heard a couple of weeks ago the club announced that we had informal tie-up with Crystal Palace we have a bit of an injury crisis ahead of the weekends trip to Dover, and therefore Dave needed to get a couple of players in with FA Cup games starting for all but Conference teams, most clubs wouldn't be prepared to lose players But Bob and Ian Dowie came to the rescue by loaning us Jay Conroy and Glenn Wilson.
Both of these players are respected players and Jay has already had part of the AFC Experience when he played for us against Barnet. I have been having a look round the net and found the following comments about Glenn Wilson from Palace fans -
"Glen Wilson featured in the second half of last seasons friendly vs Brescia. He won the most improved youngster in 2002/03. He's a centre back, who has been in the reserve team for about 2-3 seasons now. Jay Conroy I think was originally a right back, but has since moved into the centre."
- "Glenn Wilson is quite a handy young defender by all accounts, a lot of potential there." - "I've been impressed with Glenn Wilson, who's coming along nicely.
This will do him some good (playing in front of a crowd) and will get him a bit more experience under his belt. Hopefully he can then spend a month or two at a lower league club afterwards."
So it looks like we have two good players to help us out over the next few weeks. Although neither of these players are likely to play for Crystal Palace 1st team this season if they play Saturday it will also mean that they are unable to play for any other team in the 2004/05 competition so it is also a big commitment by both of these lads.
16/09/04 - Under 18's Tonight
Just a reminder that the Under 18's are in action tonight when we play Cobham a team we beat 7-2 just a couple of weeks ago. So if you have nothing planned come down to the ground for a 19:30 kick off and hopefully it will be a nice evenings entertainment.
16/09/04 - Where Are They Now?
A number of ex AFC Wimbledon players have been making headlines for Non League clubs this week here is a round up of where they are and what they have been doing.
Lewis Taylor has joined Whyteleafe and on Saturday played Right wing.
Andy Sullivan is currently at Carshalton Athletic and has been on the bench for there last two games.
Lee Sidwell and Danny Oakins - Both appear to have gone missing after work and holiday commitments so don't know where either of them are at the moment.
Kevin Cooper - After Kevin's much publicised move to Carshalton he on Tuesday afternoon signed for Dulwich Hamlet and apparently set up there 86th minute equaliser that evening.
Ross Standen rejoined his local club Ringmer and on Saturday was involved in FA Vase action when they took on Cove. Ringmer won 10-0 yes TEN but Ross appears to have had a busy afternoon as he had to keep running the full length of the pitch and back again to take penalties! Yes he scored two and missed a third a match report of the game can be found
here. Well done Ross and it was good to see you at Kingsmeadow the other week.

15/09/04 - Tuesday Night Reflections
First of all sorry for the problems with the updates in the first half my phone died on me but managed to do a quick charge on it at half time. The game was a very tight fast game with especially in the first half a lot of the action taking place either side of the centre circle as both teams played 3-5-2. The best chance of the first half was a Ryan Gray free kick which he sent over the wall and with the keeper expecting it to go wide crashed against the post. Once again saw more crunching tackles saw a number of our players needing treatment and Matt Everard ended up leaving the pitch just before half time for around 5 minutes, but during the interval he was replaced by Nick Roddis.
Our first goal came o the 66 minute when Steve Gibson won us a corner it was played in and it looked like it was forced over the line by Jamie Taylor. On 73 minutes we went 2-0 up when a nice passing move involving around 5 players saw the ball reach Robert Ursell who found the back of the net.
With Leatherhead being 2-0 down they seemed to attack us more than they had done in the previous 87 minutes and two goals in the final two minutes saw a final score of 2-2. To be fair to Leatherhead they battled to the end, they could of given up or just settled for the 1 goal and the backing that there supporters gave them all night deserved a point. I spoke to a couple of players after the game and they said "It feels like we have lost." Although we didn't get the maximum points we thought we had we are still unbeaten and 3 of the other 9 games were also draws tonight.

13/09/04 - Shop Review
The shop seemed to be very popular on Sunday and all comments I have heard have been very positive. The shop should be open from around 6:30 prior to the game tomorrow evening and the flow of people is controlled by having volunteers on both the in door and out door. If you get a chance tomorrow pop into the shop and buy some of the new merchandise on display. Well done to everyone involved in it.
13/09/04 - It's Only 16 Years Too late
It was fair to assume that at some point during Sundays game Liverpool would be awarded a penalty and with us leading 1-0 it came a few minutes before the end and John Aldridge stepped up in front of the west bank and managed to just get it past Dickie Guy in goal To level the scores. Dons Online will be putting up some video footage soon of the day but it was really nice to see some of the old face at Kingsmeadow these included Terry Burton, Warren Barton, John Scales and Alan Kimble. A review of the day was published in Monday's times and you can read what they said here.
12/09/04 - Croydon Review
As mentioned yesterday the game wasn't the best but we came away with the three points. With the news in the morning that Lewis Taylor had moved to Whyteleafe there was an element of disappointment as we arrived at Croydon, also with a number of players missing due to injury or suspensions it was a bit of a changed team. Steve Gibson came in for Woolner, Jon-Barrie Bates for Matt Everard and Joe sheerin for Richard Butler who was on the bench after having a reaction following the Ashford game. On the bench we had Paul Quinn, Nick Roddis who had signed in the morning and Leon Mcdowall.
The Croydon arena is a strange place for a game it was a bit of a cross between Feltham and Newport County's ground mainly due to the running track round the pitch, the Main stand on the changing rooms side of the pitch had a lot of Dons fans in and the terrace on the opposite side while the grass banks had people sitting down enjoying the sunshine.
The Game started with us defending the steeplechase water jump end of the ground and attacking the hammer circle end but for various reasons we seemed to struggle. Joe had got on to a couple of passes though to the box but the keeper came running to the edge of the box and on at least 1 attempt they clashed, but nothing was given to either side. a minute before half time another change was needed as Steve Butler was injured and was replaced by Nick Roddis for his AFC Debut.
The second half saw us playing with the wind so that may have been part of the problem, as time ticked on we seemed to have efforts that went everywhere but in the back of the net, we hit the cross bar at least twice including a richard butler chip that somehow didn't go in after he came on as sub. then on 68 minutes Robert Ursell took a free kick in front of the dugout it was headed across goal for Richard Butler to force over the line from about 3 yards we were 1-0 up but more was to come. With just over 5 minutes to go Robert Ursell played the ball to Ryan ray who crossed the ball was about 3 yards away from the goal with the keeper and two defenders right by it but richard Butler managed to get himself between the two defenders and headed the ball in 2-0 and the match was safe. The final bit of the game saw debut goal for prolific reserve striker Leon Mcdowall the ball came to him wide of the box with an open goal he composed him self and fired into an empty net and another victory was ours. As dave walked off the pitch he wiped his brow to imply that was a bit close but the lads perceived and got the result in the end. Next up is Tuesday night when we play Leatherhead at Kingsmeadow.
12/09/04 - Shop Opening
After lots of hard work the new AFC Wimbledon Merchandise area will be being opened today. If your not aware over the past 2 and a bit years prior to every game the merchandise volunteers have had to put out all the merchandise and then pack it away before a game, this can often mean they miss the part of the match so the new area that is situated just by the West Bank turnstiles will be greatly appreciated by them if not anyone else. On Thursday night they were working until around 11 pm and I believe the same on Friday to get it looking brilliant and being fortunate enough to have a look on Friday it does look really smart. Although we now have a shop on site it will still only be open on matchday's.
Today looks like it will be really busy at Kingsmeadow so please be patient with everyone and remember the turnstiles open at 1pm with the first game starting at 2pm. A Marquee will also be in the car park so that people can get a drink. I wont be doing any updates today from the games so don't wonder why any are not coming through.
11/09/04 - Man Of The Match Vote
The man Of The Match Vote for today's game at Croydon is now open please click below to vote, this will remain open until Kick Off on tuesday night when we play leatherhead.
11/09/04 - Target Plus One Reached
At the Dave Anderson Question & Answer session dave made the comment "If the team hasn't got 20 points after 10 games you can call for my head" Well have a look at the new table and you will see we have 21 points from 7 Games yes a 100% record. It wasn't the best of games today but the 3 goals were well worth the trip. The Goals were Scored by Richard Butler who scored two and the second was a "in the trenches" style goal and the last goal a last kick of the game one for Debut boy Leon Mcdowall.
The results have been updated below as well as the tables.

On Thursday night the Under 18's picked up another victory in an end to end game which we had the best off and although Godalming & Guildford Came back from behind twice the AFC Winner came in the last 5 minutes.
10/09/04 - Saturday's Team News
Dave Anderson has named his squad for the trip to Croydon and as you can see over on the Official Site a number of names are missing for various reasons, but as Dave says the team is good enough to get a result and lets hope we get one on Saturday.
09/09/04 - Under 18's Tonight
The under 18's are in action tonight at Kingsmeadow and Nicky and Wardy have named the squad in advance of the match tonight over on the official site. The game tonight sees the two highest scoring teams meet and they have an almost equal defensive record so it should be a very good game.
09/09/04 - Travel To Croydon
Saturday afternoon we take on Croydon FC at the Croydon Arena and the team will have at least one change to it, with Matt Everard serving a suspension from the end of last season, also reading the injury update on the official site it looks like one or two other players may be missing. With regards to traveling to the game the easiest way is to get a tram on the Elmers End or Beckenham Junction route and get off at Arena from Wimbledon this should take about 40 minutes at most. Walk across the car park and into the ground. I understand that prices are £6 adults £3 under 16's a map of the area can be found by clicking here
08/09/04 - FA Cup Replay Result
The only result of note from Tuesday night was the fact that Walton Casuals won 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. This means that were we not to progress against Dover Athletic on 19th September we would face Newport IOW in the league on 2nd October 2004.
One other result last night was Raynes Park Vale's 3-2 victory at home to Southall in which Darren Dobinson scored 2 goals for Raynes Park, well done Darren.
07/09/04 - Sunday Tickets Thursday
Tickets for Sunday's 1988 Re-Match Day have been selling very well and I understand all Seat have now sold out nut Terrace Tickets are openly available the best time to purchase them will be on Thursday night at Kingsmeadow when they will be on sale between 7pm and 9pm in the bar, But if you get to Kingsmeadow early you can also watch the Under 18's in action when they take on Godalming & Guildford in the Southern Youth League Eastern Division.

07/09/04 - Dover Watch & Travel
On Monday evening I along with a number of other Dons including Dave Anderson and Jon Turner went along to Kingsmeadow to watch Kingstonian's play Dover Athletic in a Ryman Premier bottom of the table battle and although it ended 0-0 it was a game that Dave and J.T would of picked up some notable points. Dover were very fast, Physical and especially in the first half kept having a go at kingstonian players when the ball wasn't around. The important thing when we play them is that the player keep their temperament and shape and we should be ok. Dover and Kingstonian's were clearly teams lacking confident's in the attacking end of the pitch and lets hope it stays like that for Dover for the next two weeks.
The coach information has been released by the club on the official site with coaches departing Kingsmeadow at 11:30 and leaving Dover 45 minutes after the full time whistle. The cost is £13 for Adults and £7 Concessions and Under 16's the train fare I have seen has been over £22 for Adults and also the main Dover station is 2 miles away from the ground and there is a very big hill as you approach the ground. For further details on booking please see the Official Site.
06/09/04 - Times Match Report
The Newspaper The Times today has a match report and player ratings for Saturdays game and you should be able to read the report by clicking here.
06/09/04 - Sky TV Report
Thanks to Jon at dons Online we have two versions of the SKY TV report that was shown over the weekend. Unfortunately at this stage both versions are very big, but they include the interviews and goals from the weekend, and the clip last for just over 2 minutes.
The first version is 10 MB but comes up in screen size as very small and you can watch or save it in MPG format by clicking
here. and the better version which is 26 MB can be viewed or saved by clicking here
here.
05/09/04 - Hover Speed For Dover
I know the game is just under 2 weeks away but just to let you know the time will fly and so I will try and get as much information to you in the next few days. Dover have had a terrible start to the season with 1 win in 7 and that was i understand first day of the season. they are 2nd bottom of the Ryman premier league, and in fact last night sacked there manager.
With regards to the ground it can hold over 6,000 and I understand has a 1,000 seater stand and 4,500 covered terrace places. With regards to crowd although there attendances have dropped off they have had over 1,500 in the past so it looks like it could be a huge attendance on the day.
I will let you know how Dover perform on Monday night when they take on Kingstonian in the league, and as soon as we have any details of any ticket information, the game is unlikely to be all-ticket or travel information I will pass it on.
05/09/04 - New Poll Question

04/09/04 - Destination Dover
So we now know that in 2 weeks (18th September 2004) time we will make the trip to Dover to take on Dover Athletic in the 1st Qualifying round of the FA Cup. Although we didn't have the same score line as the first game of the season this was down to the fact that the Ashford keeper stopped at least 6 efforts so it could of ended up with double figures. But in very hot conditions that needed each side to stop for water breaks we came away with a 3-0 victory. The first goal was scored by Richard butler on the 25th minute, the second was a Rob Ursell penalty after the Ashford Town defender punched the ball away after 67 minutes and then in the final minute of the game Rob Ursell scored another wonder goal. Donsonline who film highlights posted the goal but the link was wrong, but I have managed to find the goal and you can view all 4.5mb of it by clicking here more highlights will be up on Sunday so keep an eye out for them.
As we can now talk about dover we have a golden chance to see them in operation on Monday night when they play Kingstonian at Kingsmeadow in a league game, these are the bottom two in the Ryman premier so both teams will be desperate for points so could be a good idea of how well they can play.
04/09/04 - Man Of The Match Vote
If we are being fair about today's game the Man Of The Match today would go to the Ashford Town goalkeeper but it's a vote for the AFC Wimbledon Man Of The Match so I have started the Man Of The Match Poll and you can click below to vote: -

Well you may have seen this morning a couple of the national papers had good bit's on AFC Wimbledon and the FA Cup match today, The Daily Mirror had a bit on us and Jim White in the Telegraph did a brilliant bit and you can read that here Tonight a bit including the three goals are being shown on Sky Sports News it includes interviews with Dave Anderson and Kris Stewart. I am trying to get a copy of this for the site. A number of other journalists were present today so more stuff could be in the media in the next few days.
04/09/04 - FA Cup Matchday Service
On the day of our Semi Final last Season Football Focus did a feature on us that was shown the following Saturday and on it I was interviewed and I remarked "But Next Year We Have the FA Cup, and that will be Huge" well today it has arrived and I still stand by that comment. This is one of the days that I have looked forward to for more than the past 2 years.
As we are well aware the FA Cup brings about it the true national competition where on there day any team can be giant killers and although teams at today's stage are 5 Wins from possibly meeting a League team and 8 from possibly a Premiership team we can all dream.
Radio Wdon and the Text Updates will be in operation today Radio Wdon should start at about 14:00 and details can be found by clicking

03/09/04 - Under 18's Hit 7
Having watched the Under 18's through trials and pre-season and being aware of how capable they are as a team it was no surprise that seeing I wasn't at the match on Wednesday night away at Cobham that they put in the performance I knew they were capable of. At this stage all I know is that they won 7-2 and at the end Nicky and Wardy were still urging them on to go forward. The Under 18's are next in action on Thursday evening when hey take on Godalming & Guildford in a 19:30 kick off so if you fancy watching them pop down and have an enjoyable evening.
02/09/04 - Youngest & Furthest On Saturday

02/09/04 - Help Needed Sunday
As you may be aware we will be shortly be opening up a permanent Merchandise area at the ground which will make it a lot easier all round for both supporters and the merchandise team, as at present over an hour is spent before and after opening of the area getting ready and packing away.
To speed up the opening of the new area the Merchandise team need some help on Sunday if possible to get the area finished off. So over to Mark Lewis -
As part of an on going effort to get the AFC Wimbledon Megastore open as
soon as possible, the Merchandise team will be hard at work in the shop at
Kingsmeadow on Sunday 5th September.
From 11 am, we will need help with fixture cleaning, painting and assorted
odd jobs.
We estimate we will need 15 people on the day to achieve our objective.
So the more volunteers the better.
The more volunteers, the quicker the jobs will be done, the earlier the
shop will be open and the quicker we can sell you a shirt !
To volunteer, please contact
Mark Lewis - email mark.lewis@informa.com.
Many thanks for your support
Mark Lewis on behalf of the AFC Wimbledon merchandising team.
If you are able to help don't forget that in the afternoon the bar will be open and the Ladies team are in action when they take on Cardiff City Ladies in a 2pm kick off.
01/09/04 - Good Luck Dobo
Darren Dobinson has left the club it was announced this morning, Darren was a good player and all round nice guy so it will be a shame that he is leaving and I wish him all the best. I am sure we will see him down at the ground during the season and it was nice to read his comments on the official Site.
