Welcome To The Hundred Club - Tonight for the second season
in a row AFC Wimbledon reached a Hundred points, 102 to be precise
following a 2-0 victory over Horley Town. After the brilliant performance
at Southall at the weekend it wasn't as good but the main thing was
getting the 3 points.
With Kevin Cooper and Ryan Gray out injured Shane Small-King and George
Snee started and George Snee put us 1-0 up on 36 minutes. 2 minutes
later we had doubled our lead when Gavin Bolger found the back of
the net. We had a few other good chances but in the end we didn't
get any more goals. Shane Small-King had a very impressive debut and
seemed to win a lot of balls in the air and also hold the ball up
well.
The Man Of The Match Vote is now open please click below to vote: -
In the only other game in the league tonight Feltham beat Cobham 4-1 and the league table has been updated. |

Southall The Movie Version 1 (Updated)- Right below is the first version
of the Southall Highlights. It lasts over 3 minutes and I have made
3 versions. As it stands at the moment I think I only have 2 of the
goals. Lewis Taylor's goal wasn't caught on film. If I get sent Kevin
Cooper's goal I will add it in for everyone to see. THIS HAS NOW BEEN ADDED Also I have put
a "12" rating on this as there are two bits of swearing in the clip's
sorry if anyone is offended about this.

28/03/2004 AFC Fans Get Thanked - AFC Wimbledon have received two thank you's one of them is a sad one as it is regarding Mr Jim Bacon who was the fan who had the heart attack at the Coney Hall game and subsequently died. The message was sent to Club secretary Trevor Williams and was as follows: -"I would like to thank all the AFC Wimbledon supporters for their
kind messages, it has been a great help at this very sad time.
Jim was at a place he would have wanted to be at the time of his
death-apart from with his family Football was his life. I am
glad he was able to share a short time with such nice people.
Thank you and good luck to you AFC Wimbledon. Anne Bacon, 26th
March 2004."At such a sad time how nice it is that she took time to send such a nice comment.
The second comment was posted on weird
and wonderful world.com by Geoff Harrison - Secretary Southall Football Club and was as follows: -
"Well done to AFC Wimbledon - your display yesterday was impressive
and worthy of a team about to be crowned champions. I'd like to say
thank you to your large traveling support who made their way into
picturesque Buckinghamshire and hope that you enjoyed your short stay
with us. Thanks also to those people who bought tickets for our raffle
- it took me nearly an hour to get round the whole ground selling
them. To the AFC Wimbledon fan who donated his Easter Egg prize to
the Southall Mascot - superb! Good luck for the future."

Quality Performance Sees Dons On Road To Victory - In a game
that looked like it could be problems for us the Dons came away with
a 4-0 victory thanks to goals from Kevin Cooper, Gavin Bolger, Jamie
Taylor and Lewis Taylor. The game was played at Chesham Football Club
and it was a lovely ground Southall put on a curry that seemed to
be very popular again and the large bar overlooked the pitch. The
terraces on three sides of the ground were banked and covered and
meant that the AFC Fans in the crowd of 648 could make lots of noise
and be heard well. In the opening minutes Southall had the better
of the game and showed that we would need to be sharp but some nice
touches by our players showed that the game was all to play for.
On 21 minutes Kevin Cooper put us 1-0 up and it was only 5 minutes
later when Gavin Bolger fired in a brilliant shot that ended in the
back of the net that made it feel comfortable.
The next goal was on 70 minutes and was a lovely goal by Jamie Taylor who curled it in from the edge of the box. Then in the final minutes Lewis Taylor scored his first goal for the first team when he put the ball past the keeper in a one on one situation.
This was a brilliant all-round performance and could be seen as one
of the performances of the season. |

table and will make changes to it if needed. |

27/03/2004 Southall Preview - This afternoons game against Southall could be a very tough one as they are a team that has always given us problems. At present they are 3rd in the table and top of the form guide over the last 6 games. Also in home games they have scored almost 3 goals a game and conceded less than 3 goals a game. |

What Now? - As you may be aware tonight's Semi Final Match
was abandoned by the ref 5 minutes into extra time with the score
at 2-2 when fighting broke out on the terrace behind the dugouts.
Once again this is not a good time and over the next few days I am
sure a lot of questions will be asked. A present we don't know what
will happen with the game. On the pitch we twice took the lead first
through Matt Everard then Kevin Cooper but both times Coney Hall pulled
it back to force what should of been 30 minutes extra time.

in a service where you can check the score if you are away from your

To
check the latest score send a text message with the text

to the short code
83248.

League Cup Semi Final Tonight - Tonight we play Coney Hall
in the Semi Final of the league cup. Coney Hall are in the 1st division
of the Combined Counties but are believed to be a very good team as
they have shown on the way to the semi final they have already beaten
Sandhurst Town, Reading Town and Southall so it's important that we
don't just think they will be an easy team to beat. Although Joe picked
up an injury on Saturday he wouldn't have been able to play tonight
as he has got a suspension for 7 days that started yesterday, so it
looks like it will be Scott and Cooper up front. Also to play in the
semi final you must have played in atleast 3 league games so it could
well rule out the new players like George Snee and Jamie Taylor.

Would You Be Interested In On Demand Text Score Updates? -
I am trying to find out if people would be interested in a service
where you send a text message to a specified number and by return
you would get information on AFC Wimbledon games. For example the
team line up or score. The score message would also say how long has
been played. The problem being is that each text message you request
would cost you 25p but all profits would be passed on to the stadium
fund.
If you would be interested in using this service please click
here.
If you wouldn't be interested in using this service please
click hereIf between now and tomorrow night the view is yes I will try it tomorrow night at the semi final game against Coney Hall.

Travel To Coney Hall Game - On Tuesday evening we play our
semi final league cup game against Coney Hall at Bromley FC Ground.
Bromley was of course the historic venue where Trigger scored the
first ever AFC Wimbledon goal although I missed it as I was in the
burger bar queue. The Easiest way to get to the ground is to get a train to Bromley South Station with the best route being get a thameslink to Herne Hill and then a train to Bromley South. The journey should take about 30 minutes. The train times from Tooting are as follows: -17:25 arrive at Herne Hill 17:36. 17:40 to Bromley South arrive at 17:58 18:01 arrive at Herne Hill 18:14. 18:22 to Bromley South arrive at 18:32 18:32 arrive at Herne Hill 18:44. 18:55 to Bromley South arrive at 19:06
Once you get to Bromley South Station its about a 10 minute wall to
the ground and you can see a map of the area by clicking here The station is just to the north of this map.

informed that Nicky was going to do it. To read the questions and
Nicky's answers click here.
Nicky has said he will try and do a few of these so if I know about
the next one I will post details on here so you can ask questions

Goals From Saturday - Having been out of action for the past
two weeks it was great to come back and be able to watch the goals
thanks to Woking Jon of Dons
Online. With a bit of playing about I have put together a lower
quality film of yesterdays clips it is just over 700kb and the film
last for 2 minutes so if you want to watch it please click here
and I hope you enjoy it. If you do I may do the other ones as well.

14/03/2004
Stat Time - I have been looking at some Stats today and they
make interesting reading.
We need 22 points to win the league even if the teams that can finish above us win every game.93 points would of had us finishing 4th last season.Only Withdean scored more than 129 goals last season. If we were not to play another game and the other teams in the league were to complete there fixtures winning them all we would already have enough points to finish 8th in the league.
Based on current projections of goals scored and conceded we would
end up with For 180 Agi 30 Diff 150.

Coney Hall Watch - With us playing Coney Hall in the cup semi
final on Tuesday night a poster on weirdandwonderfulworld.com went
to there game yesterday and made the following observations : - "Went
to Coney Hall (v Merrow) today, 4 ö 3 to Coney Hall after being 3
ö 0 down before half-time. Spoke to some of their players and staff
and they are Îreallyâ up for the game on Tuesday. They even had a
large advertising banner displayed outside their ground. I have to
say that their forwards could do us some damage, especially if Mark
Nicholas (ex-Dons player) gets to play just behind them. Apart from
Mark the midfield didn't impress much and the back four, although
big, were quite slow (one had the nickname ÎSumoâ) and defended poorly
from corners and set pieces. Keeper made some good saves but as you
can see from the score, he can be beaten. Manager quite vocal and
like to sing songs from the touchline - I kid you not! Their club
emblem is the famous bunny from Playboy. To summaries: what ever happens
these lads are going to make a game of it - Good luck to Coney Hall
& CâMon you Dons :o)" I will be posting information on how to get
to Bromley FC later today. |

Godalming & Guildford Quick Report and Man Of The Match Poll -
This afternoon we had a 4-1 victory over Godalming & Guildford. Although
not the best performance the pitch had very little grass on it and
a strong wind made the conditions difficult. We started well when
Paul Scott managed to put us 1 up as he poked the ball past the keeper,
at first it looked like the defender would get to it first but it
just went over the line. Godalming were level with a nice finish and
the score was 1-1 at half time. In the second half we had two goals
from Joe Sheerin and one from Matt Everard to seal the points. Just
before the end Joe Sheerin had to go off after he twisted his knee
so we finished with 10 men on the pitch. Meanwhile Chessington & Hook
drew 1-1 with AFC Wallingford so we are now 15 points clear with a
game in hand.
