Victory In The Cricket - I understand that we won the cricket yesterday with Dave Towse hitting the winning runs. We scored something like 178 off the 25 Overs to beat the target of 174. The crowd was in the region of 2-300 and therefore made a nice bit of money for both the stadium fund and Malden Wanderers Cricket Club.

Cricket Today - Just a reminder that this afternoon sees the Cricket Fundraiser take place. As well as the cricket there will be lots of things for the Junior Dons (Who get in Free) to do as well as a BBQ so if you get a chance pop along the gates open at 1pm and the action starts at 2pm details of getting there are just a few stories down.

Make A Stand - Most people this morning should of received the prospectus for the share issue. I have read through it and hope to put something up on the site about it tomorrow.

The advert is currently listed on Lycos 'Viral' Chart and when I last looked we were 4th on the current list and 1st on the new release list so if you wish to get us top of both lists please click here and vote for us.

Marc Jones has created the following banner which if you click on will take you to the Make A Stand Web Site don't forget to pass on details to all your friends as its important we get as many people as possible involved in the buying of shares.

Last Nights Party - Last night was a really good evening and lots of people turned up to enjoy the evening sunshine and have a few beers. Although not expected Kris made a short speech to say how well the day had gone and it had been received well by the media present. He confirmed that the prospectus would be sent to all season ticket holders and Dons Trust members in the next few days once it has arrived I will try and summaries details in it but if you are thinking of purchasing shares it is important that you read the whole document and even get financial advice before purchasing any shares.

Ivor spoke to inform us that for the past year we had been approached by a brewery about changing the beer contract at Kingsmeadow but as we didn't own it we couldn't do anything now we do own it the beer next year will be supplied by The Scottish Courage brewery. The advert was then shown and it went down really well with everyone saying what a brilliant job everyone involved had done.

Fund Raising Site Goes Live- At 4:30 this afternoon the latest AFC Wimbledon Site went live with the launch of The Fans Stadium this is the main campaign site to raise the £3 million pounds that is needed to complete the purchase of the stadium. Also on the site you will be able to watch the 'TV' advert that has been made by the people at TBWA I think you will agree that it is very good.

Don't Forget Party Tonight - This morning at Kingsmeadow was the official press conference to announce the deal of our purchase of Kingsmeadow Stadium and also the share issue that is needed to finance the deal. From the feed back I have heard it all went very well and over the next few days we should get some good press coverage out of it.

A lot of people have been asking what is happening tonight in terms of will there be any questions and answers? I understand that it is just a chance to have some drinks and celebrate the purchase. The advert that has been produced will also be being shown so if you get a chance come along and celebrate with other fans.

A Few More Photos Up - My season review in Pictures has a few new additions to it today with another 10 pictures added if you wish to see them they start here. I will be adding the rest of the season photos very soon.

Kingsmeadow Deal Signed Now Time To Party - At just after 11:30 this morning it was confirmed that all the paperwork had been completed and the ownership of the Kingsmeadow Stadium had been purchased by AFCW Stadiums Ltd. We must congratulate everyone at The Dons Trust and AFC Wimbledon for the hard work that has gone into this and especially Kris, Ivor & Erik who have done such a good job.

On Thursday the official press launch of the share issue will be made and following that at 7pm all AFC and football fans are invited to the bar at Kingsmeadow to celebrate us getting the ownership of a ground for the first time since 1991.

League Cup Draw - On Monday night the league Cup was drawn for the first two rounds of the contest. In the first round we have been drawn away to Merstham (remember the cheese rolls last year) and in the second round the winners will be home to Walton Casuals (who we played in the league cup last year). Other ties that I have been able to find on sites are: -

AFC Wallingford Vs Ash (2nd Round)
Raynes Park Vale Vs Farleigh Rovers (Not Sure what Round)
Southall Vs Cranleigh (2nd Round)
Hatley Wintney Vs Staines Lammas (1st Round - Winners Away to Ditton in Round Two)

Once I have the full draw I will post it here. In other news Horley were elected to the Premier Division and I understand that next year the substitutes will be a case of three from five named subs.
23/06/2003
Five Aside Result - Although I didn't attend the five aside competition on Sunday I understand on the whole it was a good day in the end the "Northern Monkeys" team beat Raynes Park Vale in the final.

A number of people picked up injures during the event but most serious was to "Tall" Mark Lewis who organised the day who has ended up in hospital and has broken his ankle. I hope Mark gets better soon and we see him back at Kingsmeadow very soon.

Another Pre-Season Game - On Wednesday 30th July the night after the Neil Robson Testimonial at Carshalton we will play Dulwich Hamlet away in another pre-season game.
22/06/2003
Sean Daly - Its been reported on Weird and Wonderful World.com guestbook that Sean Daly is currently in hospital following an incident on Friday night, as someone who has just been in hospital can I (and I am sure all of you) wish Sean all the best and a speedy recovery.

Kingsmeadow Deal Signed This Week? - It looks like that in the early part of this week the deal for the hand over of Kingsmeadow to AFC Wimbledon will be signed. A couple of changes have also been made with the introduction of an overall board for the new holding company, more information on this can be found over at the official site.
21/06/2003
Sundays Five Aside Competition - Sunday sees the first AFC Wimbledon Five Aside competition although no one apart from the organiser knows the make up of the 40 teams involved it is believed that there is one team of AFC Players and Two from Raynes Park Vale. The day will be all about having fun and raising money for the stadium fund. If you are driving it will cost £2 to park your car and this will go to the stadium fund and if your playing or not I would recommend taking a lot of water as it looks like it will be another hot day. The games start at 10:30 and the final will be around 16:00. All the action takes place by Raynes Park Vale Football ground just along from the David Lloyd Center.
21/06/2003
Wimbledon Village Fair - Well done to everyone involved in Wimbledon Village Fair today once again it was a very good success with both the AFC Stalls doing very well and spreading the word. The new Calendar's were also selling very well and a few were even signed by a couple of the people in them.
20/06/2003
Weekend Start Times - Just to confirm the start times of this weekends events. Wimbledon Village Fair that takes place on the first part of Wimbledon Common starts at 10:30 and goes on all day. On Sunday the five asides take place by Raynes Park Vale Football Club and start at 10:30 with the final being at about 16:00 if you can get to either of the events you are sure to have a good time. Players should be at both of these events.
19/06/2003
Good-bye Viking Greenford - It looks like Viking Greenford have resigned from the Combined Counties League after finishing bottom this season. Everyone will admit that one of the best moments last year was Vikings sub at Kingsmeadow the guy knew he wasn't the best player but enjoyed himself. Reports indicate that Horley Football Club will replace them. The Combined Counties will also have a proper 1st Division next season as the Surrey Senior League will be joining it and there will be a cup competition for clubs in both the premier and 1st Divisions.
19/06/2003
Season Ticket News - People have been asking about the season ticket situation and I understand that on Wednesday season ticket 1,000 was recorded on the database. Last season we had just short of 1,500 season tickets but as most of this years so far have been for seats we could once again very close to that level. I believe that the plan is to send out the season tickets at the start of August. If you haven't purchased your terrace season ticket yet please don't leave it to the last minute and give the people who volunteer in the office as much time as possible to get everything ready.
19/06/2003
CCL Next Season - On Monday evening the Ryman league held there AGM and as expected no teams from the Combined Counties were elected as neither Withdean or AFC Wallingford reached the ground criteria. This means that next season we will once again be up against both of them but a few changes could be happening at Withdean as it looks like there owner has moved to Worthing and may well take a few players with him.

With regards to the fixtures for next season they will be about round about the middle of July but once the Ryman fixtures are out we will be able to work out when we are home or away due to not being able to clash with Kingstonian Football Club.
18/06/2003
This Weekend Events - Last weekend saw Mitcham Carnival take place and report I have heard said it was a brilliant event and the AFC Stall ddid very well. This weekend sees two big events on Saturday is Wimbledon Village Fair this is a chance to show the people of Wimbledon there football club and what we can do for the community, so if you get a chance to pop along please do and don't forget wear your colours so people can see and remember us.

On Sunday there is a huge 5 aside competition taking place at Grand Drive the home of Raynes Park Vale all money is going to the Stadium fund and about 40 teams are involved including a couple that may include some surprise people I will get more information on start times and post them once I know more.

Martin Samuels In Today's Times - In Today's Times Sports Writer of the Year Martin Samuels has done a brilliant write up regarding us and "Wimbledon FC (In Administration)" it includes the following quote: -

Now the owners scandalously assert that Wimbledon crumbled because its supporters deserted the club. We know the opposite was true. The club ran away from its followers and has got what it deserved.

Big Thank You To Everyone - As you may or may not have known for the past couple of weeks I have been in hospital having an operation. I am pleased to say I am home now and would like to say thanks to everyone who forwarded messages on to me visited me or was just thinking about me. It has helped me during my time in hospital and I hope to be fully recovered and ready to go by the start of the season.

Once again Thanks - Paul R

Home Sweet Home - Today being the first of June is the date that we should take over the running of Kingsmeadow Football Stadium. There is a possibility that the signing of the paperwork may be delayed for a few days but it will be going through very soon.

Kris Stewart was talking the other day and saying that there is a lot to do before the documents can be signed he said "If you imagine buying a house and times that by 10 that's will give you an idea of what is involved."

On Thursday of this week sees a Dons Trust Special General Meeting where changes to the constitution are being proposed.
