28/02/2002 More Trond News - Just like to say thanks to Rob Aitkenhead who has sent me the following from the Birmingham Evening Mail. Norwegian international Trond Andersen has rejected a £1 million move to Blues from Wimbledon. The 27-year old midfielder's rebuff has dismayed manager Steve Bruce. "It's a big disappointment", he said. "We've worked extremely hard the last three or four weeks to try to get him here. The clubs had agreed everything and it was down to the player in the end but he refused." Blues even tried to persuade Andersen to join on loan until the end of the season to get a feel of the club. Bruce said: "I'm sure he has his reasons, good luck to him. We will just have to press on and see who else is available." It is thought that Andersen wants to stay put for the time being to discover if there is any Premier League interest. Andersen, a Norway regular, is a key if often unheralded member of the Wimbledon team. He cost £2.5million from Molde in August 1999 and can play at centre-half, where he has spent most of this season covering for injuries. Bruce also likes Andersen's team mate Damien Francis, the powerful midfielder who turned 23 yesterday, but Wimbledon want a huge fee for him." |

Trond Says No To Birmingham? - At the weekend their was a story
out of Birmingham saying that this week they would sign two players
one from the premiership and another from a division 1 club. With
Steve Bruce being in charge at St. Andrews people thought he would
go back to Selhurst for Dougie Freedman, but during the week rumor's
have started to appear that he was going back to Selhurst but it was
for Trond Andersen. Although nothing appeared in the media it would
appear that a fee was agreed and Trond had talks with them. The outcome
as it currently stands is that Trond turned them down, they may come
back with a better package but I don't know the reason that Trond
said no. |

brilliantly taken goal lets hope he can bring his goal scoring boots
to the first team. |

Roberts Loan Extended - Andy Roberts loan at Norwich has been
extended for another month (until 26 March 2002) He will be suspended
for their midweek game this week after reaching the five bookings

it for another month, could be interesting when we play Sheffield
Wednesday next week. |

against Watford at Kingstonians, but with the weather being on the
poor side at the moment the game may be in doubt. |

24/02/2002
Injury Update - Yesterday their were 3 players missing and
I have since found out that Trond had a clash with Lionel in training
and hurt his ankle. Neal Ardley picked up a knock and Darren Holloway
returned back to the North East due to family reasons. I would imagine
that they will all be OK for the weekend. |

3 Points In London - A number of changes were made to the team
today with Trond Andersen, Darren Holloway and Neal Ardley all missing
and Chris Willmott, Jermaine Darlington and Jobi (pronounced yob-e
by the pa) McAnuff all starting. Mark Williams came on towards the
end of the game which was nice to see him back on the pitch. I think
we had the better of the chances and we took the lead when Kevin Cooper
had a shot from about 25 yards out that bounced just in front of the
keeper before ending in the back of the net. In the second half we
came under a lot of pressure but held on. David Connolly had a golden
chance to seal the points but from a tight angle put the ball into
the side netting. |

I Found Something To Laugh About The Watford Game - One of
the best football websites on the net is a Watford site and anyone
who has ever read Blind Stupid and Desperate will know that the guys
their know their football and in both their previews of games and
match reports they are always funny and accurate, add in the fact
that they hate Selhurst Park and you get to like them even more. To
read the match preview and two match reports for the game on Tuesday

|
22/02/2002 Saturdays Team News - It looks like we will have the same line up as Tuesday nights game when we visit high flying Millwall tomorrow. The only player who may be in with a shout of getting into the squad could be Mark Williams after he played 90 minutes for the reserves on Tuesday night. |
|
21/02/2002
Millwall Travel Information - This is possibly one of the easiest
games of the season to get to if you are in the Wimbledon area, even
easier than getting to Selhurst. You can get a train from Wimbledon
(platform 9) at xx:23 and xx:53 change at Tulse Hill for the xx:42
or xx:12 and the train should get to South Bermondsey at xx:52 or
xx:22. For the journey back trains are at xx:13 and xx:43 change at
Tulse Hill for the Wimbledon Service and you should be back at base
for xx:45 or xx:15. If you live in Haydons Road or Tooting the trip
will be even shorter. |
|
21/02/2002 Kids For A Quid - Both our games against Stockport (at Selhurst) and Nottingham Forest (Away) are games where kids can get in for £1.00. Also at Forest we are now going to be the Brian Clough Stand. |
|

Injury Update - Michael Hughes injury is only a case of bruising
on the bone and he should be back in about 3 weeks. Gareth Ainsworth
has got another ankle injury which he got in training and explains
why he wasn't even on the bench last night. He will also be out for
a couple of weeks. |
|
20/02/2002 Reserves Face Heavy Loss - The reserves lost 6-1 at Ipswich last night. Our goal was scored by Adam Nowland and both Mark Williams and Dean Blackwell played in the game. |

Another Midweek Draw - On a very wet night two teams that were
fancied at the start of the season to be in the top six positions
come the end of the season played out a mid table 0-0 draw. Hakan
Mild came in for Michael Hughes with Gareth Ainsworth not in the squad.
It was clear to see this was two teams that were lacking confidence
and to be honest it was difficult too see where the breakthrough was
going to come from, in the end their were a few chances but nothing
came of it so a 0-0 draw and neither team look play-off material.

Tonight's Team News - With both Mark Williams and Jobi McAnuff
being in the reserves for their trip to Ipswich tonight it looks like
Gareth Ainsworth or Jermaine Darlington may start on the right of
midfield with Neal Ardley in the middle the other option would be
for Hakan Mild to return to the centre of midfield.

17/02/2002 Crewe Game Off - With Crewe getting a 0-0 draw against Everton in the cup, the game that was due to be played on Tuesday February 26th at Selhurst has now been called off, as they will have the replay that week. No new date is known yet. |
|
17/02/2002
New Injury Blow For Hughes - Michael Hughes's injury yesterday
looks like it could be worse than first feared. After the game he
departed on crutches to have an x-ray on the injury but he looks very
doubtful for the game against Watford on Tuesday night. If that is
the case it may be a case that Trond Andersen moves into midfield
and Mark Williams makes a return in defence. |

Another Point But Two Thrown Away? - A game that in the first
half was played at a very fast pace but was also very scrappy. We
took the lead through Damien Francis in what was his first goal since
his injury. The header seemed to be fairly weak but Matt Clarke in
the Palace Goal missed it and in went in the back of the net. The
Dons had other chances with the best one being a header from Patrick
Agyemang from a well taken free-kick but he just got his positioning
wrong and put it wide of an open goal. Although we were 1-0 up Palace
were giving us problems with their attacks but Kelvin was playing
well along with his defence to keep them out. Michael Hughes went
in for a challenge with Curtis Flemming that left both players out
of the action as the game continued while the Palace player eventually
got back into play Michael was still down and after lengthy treatment
he tried to continue but ended up being replaced by Jobi McAnuff.
We seemed to lose a bit in midfield from this point but went in 1-0
up at half time. In the second half we once again had chances the
returning David Connolly had a 1 on 1 break on the keeper but from
a tight angle put the ball well wide and then had a header from close
range that went straight at the keeper. Still Palace pushed forward
but it looked a case of when not if Palace would score and then 8
minutes from time Clinton Morrison broke free and put the ball past
Kelvin to level the scores. Both sides had late chances but after
taking the lead it was disappointing to see us only end up with one
point. |

miss Saturday's game against Palace. David Connolly could return to

Lionel On International Score Sheet - Lionel Morgan scored
the first goal last night in a 3-1 victory for England Under 19's
against Germany. His goal came after 8 minutes but he was subbed after
64 minutes. Describing his goal the official FA
Site say "The Wimbledon winger, whose pace, skill and athleticism,
has recently attracted strong attention from Tottenham, accepted Ashtonâs
pass into his gallop before sliding the ball home low to the Îkeeperâs
left." |

14/02/2002
Football League Meeting - The Football League have their monthly
meeting today and one issue that may be on the agenda is the decision
by the Football Association to pass the "relocation of Wimbledon Football
Club" back to them. It's likely that they will decide what the next
step will be but once again we are unlikely to have an answer for
a couple of months. |
|
14/02/2002
International Review - Trond played the full 90 minutes in
midfield in their 1-0 defeat in Belgium. He had a couple of shots
one that needed a good save from the keeper. (Cheers to Vegard for
his assistance). Kenny Cunningham only played the first 45 minutes
in the Republic Of Irelands 2-0 victory at home to Russia. Michael
Hughes played the complete game and almost set up an equalizer to
put the score at 2-2 but Northern Ireland lost 4-1 in Cyprus against
Poland in front of 221 fans! |
|
13/02/2002
Selley On Loan At Southend - Ian Selley Who has only made 4
appearances for us and none this season has gone on loan to Southend.
The loan is for one month but could turn out to be either longer or
even a permanent move. |

13/02/2002
International Games - Their are International games tonight

|
12/02/2002 Shipperley Out On Saturday - Neil Shipperley is out of Saturday's game against Crystal Palace after he has picked up 5 bookings. David Connolly may be back after his injury but otherwise we will have neither of them starting the game for the first time this season. Adam Nowland was part of the squad at the weekend and scored for the reserves last night and may get his first chance in the first team. |
|
12/02/2002
Victory For Reserves - The reserves had a 2-0 victory over
Spurs on Monday night. The goals came from Gavin Bolger and Adam Nowland.

60 minutes of the match on his road back to the first team.

Point In A Dull Game - I didn't go to the game today but listened
to the webcast off the official site. The commentary came across as
a very dull performance in the first half and they said their were
more chances in the first 5 minutes of the second half than the whole
of the first half. Last year's game at Gillingham was very flat and
it seems to be one of them grounds we struggle to put a performance
out at. We had chances from Agyemang and Francis but they just didn't
seem to go in. Anyway another point on the board and also means we
wont go into the Palace game with back to back victories which in
a way is good as I cant remember the last time we won 3 league games
on the trot. |

Lionel Move Off? - It looks like Lionel Morgan's move to Spurs
is off. Terry Burton has said he is not for sale adding "He's a
fantastic talent and he's 100 per cent in my long-term plans."
Apparently David Pleat was interviewed on sky following their game
on Tuesday night and said the deal was off as he believed we were

Lionel Off To Spurs? - Reports across the Internet suggest
that Lionel Morgan our England Under 19 winger could be about to complete
a £750,000 move to Spurs. Lionel is believed to be one of the many
players out of contract at the end of the season. It will be a shame
to see him go but I'm sure that it will see him fast track into the
England Under 21 Squad. |

03/02/2002 Another Victory On ITV - We have now played 2 Sunday afternoon games on ITV and won them both. Today we had a brilliant 2-1 victory over the team that look like they will win the League. We have now beaten them both "Home" and Away and I think goes to show what we can be like but at other times are just too inconsistent. The victory was a complete team effort today with players all over the pitch being outstanding. Neil Shipperley scored two goals and worked really hard at the other end their was one double tackle from Peter Hawkins and Kenny Cunningham that showed how hard they were all playing. Patrick Agyemang caused City plenty of trouble and in the final minutes Stuart Pearce was sent off after hauling down Jobi McAnuff who was clear on goal. |

A Lovely Day In York - As you may know yesterday York City
had a Fans United Day and a fun day it turned into. When I got to
Kings Cross at 10:00 for the 10:40 train we saw that no trains were
going north. The Party of about 20 was reduced to 11 who fancied trying
the coach to Peterbrough then train to York route. All this time we
were traveling the match was subject to a 12:00 pitch inspection.
And then as we left Doncaster we got a call saying the march had arrived
at the ground to be told the game was off. (Go on laugh you know you
want to :) ) when we got to York we unloaded the "Fans United Scarf"
and were met by some York City Fans it was a case of OK we have three
hours lets find a pub. We went to a pub called the Bootham and it
was packed with fans from all over the country Brighton, Man City,
Bradford, Lincoln, Sunderland, Chelsea, Manchester United, Spurs the
list goes on. We were met by a couple of other dons who had made the
trip. After a brilliant afternoon chatting football and singing "One
Gareth Ainsworth" with the Lincoln Fans for most the afternoon we
headed back to the train station and a 4 hour journey back to Kings
Cross via Inter City a fun coach ride with an Only Fools And Horses
Video and then a local train. We didn't get to see any football but
it was a great day that shows what Football means to all Fans.
"Fans United Will Never Be Defeated"
