So it was a night of Halloween Horrors for Bryan Robson as the dons beat Boro 1-0 thanks to a Hartson penalty 6 minutes from the end.

The Grimsby game that was to be played next Wednesday has been called off due to Emergency Stadium repairs that need to be carried out. I understand that during Saturday's game against Sheffield United there was a major floodlight problem that resulted in some of the lights not comming on. This has been found to be due to a cable fault and needs to be replaced. The problem being that it will take between 2 and 5 days to sort out and with the number of games that are played at Selhurst it is needed to postpone a match and therefore the Grimsby game has been called off. No new date has been mentioned as of yet.

Congratulations Trond if you are reading this.

The match tonight against Boro will go ahead the pitch has cleared well and Boro are due to fly down today. The game will be played to a finish tonight and so could go to penalties.

John Hartson was asked by the BBC as to If he wanted a move from the Dons his reply was There's no reason for me to move on and I've never been happier

30/10/2000
There is the possibility that the game against Middlesborough may not go ahead due to the current conditions on one side of the pitch on Monday was about 3 inches of rain. As soon as I here something I will try and get something posted on the site but it may only be in the guestbook so please check there for news.

Interesting story with regards to the game on Saturday in the bar afterwards from the legendary Weird & Wonderful World Guestbook it was posted by Timbo and the edited version is as follows: -

Did anyone notice the 4th official yesterday was the same linesman who gave the penalty against us at Bradford? After the game yesterday at the bar as this official was leaving with the others, I call out from the bar 'We still remember the penalty at Bradford' Instead of continuing out the door he was nearly through , he turned round came to across the lounge to me & my friends put his kit bag down to explain his disision that fateful day in April. Before he started I made the point that penalty is very likely the reason we had to watch the "entertainment (my word)" that was served up today. However he said that at the time he thought Thacther's arm went up before the ball was crossed, but after seeing it on tape he made no bones about the fact that he was wrong !! Doesn't make it any easier to take but fair play to the man for 1) talking to us & 2) admitting he was wrong.

If the cup match against Boro goes ahead Tuesday will be the last chance to vote for a Man Of The Match for the Sheffield United Game as a new poll will be opened late Tuesday evening.

Also on Tuesday see's the last chance to vote for the Away Kit for next season just to remind you the choices are as follows:-

In the bar after the game Trond came over to let me know that his homepage has moved he has now joined the "ICONS" group and his Website can be found at http://www.icons.com/andersen/?player=%2Fandersen%2F the site will be updated every couple of days and just looking at the reports he has put up it seems a lot better than the old site. He has even done a write up on the Sheffield United game already.

The Man Of The Match vote for the Sheffield United game is now up.

Sorry about the brief update yesterday but was a bit under the weather.

Last night (Wednesday) the reserves managed their first win of the season with an away victory at Charlton. The score was 3-2 to the Dons.

For anyone that hasn't seen Weird & Wonderful World in the last couple of days it is well worth checking out the comments from John Hartson about the West Brom game.

To allow people who don't see the programme a chance to be included I have printed the designs below and if you click the picture of the kit you like and complete the e-mail form to say the kit you like I will make sure that your vote is passed on to the club.

Please only vote once and the deadline is the end of the month.

The picture quality of the yellow kit is not quite right it is in fact the reverse of this years kit and the Tiny logo would be in Blue.

In today's Sunday Mirror Chelsea Supremo Ken Bates has said that John Harley has only come o wimbledon to get match practice and he seems to rule out any possibility of the move being made permanent.

John Harley admitted that towards the end of Saturday's game he did get a bit on the greedy side as he went in search of his hat-trick. he also added that it was the first time since he played in the under 11's that he has scored two goals in a game.

21/10/2000

First of all thanks to everyone for taking the visitors to this site past the 50,000 mark.

John Harley has gone straight into the squad for the game at Crewe on Saturday and is likely to play at left back for the game.

When Harley first heard about our interest he was against the idea of joining us but he came to the Blackburn game and was impressed by the way we passed the ball so has joined us for 3 months but Chelsea will have an option after a month to re-call him.

19/10/2000
With Peter Hawkins out injured and Alan Kimble still not fully fit the club have elected to take John Harley of Chelsea on loan. Harley is a promising left back who was one of the rare english players in the Chelsea side.

Terry Burton was none too impressed after Wednesday nights game and said "that he struggled to take anything positive out of the game"

18/10/2000
So a 2-0 defeat to Blackburn in a disappointing game Damien Francis was substituted at half time due to the fact he was injured.

The winner of the Gillingham Man Of The Match vote is given below: -

Darren Holloway 21 votes 44%
Damien Francis 11 votes 23%
Jonathan Hunt 6 votes 13%
John Hartson 3 votes 6%

The Man of the match vote for the Gillingham will close tomorrow night (Wednesday) once I get home from the Blackburn game. If you haven't voted yet please do.

The reserves have just lost 1-0 at Pride Park tonight. Derby won the league last season. Karlsson sounded like he played well in the game.

For people who are reading this on Tuesday evening prior to about 20:45 Uk time I would point you in the way of the Derby Web Site that is offering Live Audio coverage of the reserve game at Pride Park tonight. Click here to listen I have just checked and there is also live video!! Top site.

The latest Dons player to have had a presence on the web added is Damien Francis his home page can be found here

Alan Kimble should return on Wednesday night to replace Peter Hawkins who has an injury.

16/10/2000
There seems to be some confusing over the date of the Blackburn with some places saying it is Tuesday night. I can confirm that the game is on Wednesday evening.

The Journalists at the Gillingham game when Terry Burton turned up with Tony White and Tony White announced that Terry would only answer questions if they were asked in French or German. As you would expect no questions were asked and Terry left the conference. Terry claimed this was done as the FA were only prepared to consider someone who spoke French/German or Italian for the England Job.

On Tuesday night the reserves are in action away at Derby.

15/10/2000
Neal Ardley was missing from the squad on Saturday after he went down injured in training on Thursday morning.

Terry Burton was none too happy after the Gillingham game saying that the Defending was "a debacle.". He also added about the third goal ""I was particularly upset with the third goal, which occurred from a corner because it was an area we had talked about prior to the match. "We have struggled to deal with high balls all season and it is an area we need to work on. He did praise the performance of Kelvin Davis and Darren Holloway.

The Man Of The Match Vote is now up for the Gillingham game.

Another Saturday another boring draw! Well not quite for the first time in our League History we played out a 4-4 draw today and what a game it was as well goals from Francis, Hartson x 2 and Euell but two points were lost in the final couple of minutes as Gillingham snatched an equaliser.

Checking the Gillingham FC web site it seems to be that they normally play a 5-3-2 formation but may change it for this weekend. They also see a threat from our wide players.

If you would like to be sent a demo issue of the "Goals On CD" CD click on the following link "Goals-OnCD"

13/10/2000
On Saturday the dons take on Gillingham at Selhurst Park the match should see the debut for Darren Holloway as Mark Williams has picked up 5 bookings and is suspended.

Alan Kimble hopes to play for the reserves next week in his comeback campaign from the hamstring injury that has kept him out.

12/10/2000
It looks like we wont see Kenny Cunningham in the first team much before the end of this year. His return to full training is on hold and he reckons he will need a month of training before he is ready for first team action.

John Hartson was reported to be Man Of The Match for Wales in their 0-0 draw in Poland. He was the only Dons player to have a run out.

Reports are linking Robbie Earle with a potential move to Portsmouth as Joe Kinnear's Assistant if our ex manager get the Portsmouth job, although the Portsmouth job may not even be available as it has been offered (possibly only on a temporary basis) To Steve Claraidge.

11/10/2000
In last nights reserve game Coventry beat us 2-1.

In the international games tonight John Hartson is starting for Wales, Mark Williams and Trond may also be called into action.

10/10/2000
The reserves are due to be in action tonight at Coventry.

Paul Robinson's loan move has been completed.

The result of the Stockport Man of the Match vote is as follows:-

Damien Francis 22 votes 65%
Trond Andersen 3 votes 9%
Jonathan Hunt 3 votes 9%
Jason Euell 3 votes 9%
Neal Ardley 2 votes 6%
Chris Willmott 1 vote 3%

09/10/2000
Paul Robinson who joined us from Newcastle has gone on loan from to Burnley for a month. This may be a case to get him some first team games as he is currently been out of the squad, or it could be that he is not settled and it could lead to a move away.

The Under 19's lost 2-1 at home at the weekend to Aston Villa.

08/10/2000
As I mentioned yesterday I went to the Wales game and what a brilliant stadium it is it cost £11.00 to get in and we had tickets in the second row of the third tier but the view was brilliant.

John Hartson had a really good game and put the ball in the back of the net from a powerful header but it was called offside we were in line with him and it looked the right decision.

Towards the end of the game Hartson seemed to pick up a knock and was replaced just before the end.

From our seat I commented how bad the pitch looked and funnily enough on returning home John Hartson had told the press how bad the pitch was the design is cut into squares so it cant bind.

07/10/2000
While the majority of the country has had a bad day watching the England Germany game I had a brilliant day watching Wales Vs Norway live in Cardiff. The game finished 1-1 and I will write a bit up on Sunday.

With regards to the Book signing session in Wimbledon I forgot to say that it would take place at 4pm today (thanks to Jill for spotting that I had missed it.

This months Match Of The Day Magazine is quite Wimbledon Based. It contains interviews with Joe Kinnear, Sam Hammam and Charles Koppell as well as a very quick interview with Vinnie Jones well worth a read at £2.50. The Edition has Ginola on th front and is dated November 2000.

06/10/2000
This weekend is International time and we could have Hartson, Trond and Mark Williams playing for their national side.

Ryan Giggs has been quoted as saying that John Hartson could well have a season that sees Wimbledon promoted on the basis of his current form.

Darren Holloway who has joined us from Sunderland is likely to replace Mark Williams on Saturday week against Gillingham. One thing about Holloway he is already on 4 bookings so one more would see him get a one game ban.

If you elect not to watch the England Game on Saturday you may wish to pay a visit to BOOKS ETC in Wimbledon (outside the Station) Where ex manager Joe Kinnear will be signing copies of his book "Still Crazy".

05/10/2000
The game away against Crystal Palace has been arranged for Tuesday 5th December 2000.

Wayne Gray is reported to have joined Port Vale on lone for a month after scoring for there reserves on Wednesday night.

04/10/2000
The Reserves managed a 2-2 draw against Leicester tonight with Paul Robinson getting both goals (so atleast I know what he looks like now :) [/Saturday night joke] )

Lionel Morgan is reported to have Broken his ankle and will be out for about 3 months.

03/10/2000
On Wednesday night the reserves are due to play Leicester City at Gander Green Lane kick Off 19:30.

Terry Burton is saying that it will be a battle to hold on to Jason Euell. On Saturday against Stockport scouts were seen at the game from Spurs (David Pleat) and Chelsea (New Manager Raneri).

02/10/2000
The Under 19's had a 1-1 draw on Saturday against Birmingham.

Although the Richard Dunne Deal is off I found this comment from him in the Times on Sunday about how he felt "He flew from Liverpool to Heathrow Airport where he waited for Wimbledon manager, Terry Burton, to finalise a transfer that had been mooted for some time. But as he waited Burton called to tell him the deal was off. Wimbledon had made alternative, cheaper arrangements. "I'd been thinking about this move for five weeks. Will I or won't I? Then finally I said I might as well. I'd just put my house up for sale and had the removals people in. Then I'm told sorry, the deal is off. 'Jesus Christ,' I said. 'What am I going to do now'?" But Dunne was not distraught. "I didn't feel like, 'Oh no, the deal's off'. I'm happy where I am. I never really asked to leave but I know I can't really afford to wait here for Richard Gough to retire and then maybe I might get in at centre-half."

Today I picked up a new football CD/magazine called Goals On CD it features all the Goals in a monthly period and this months for us has our goal at Preston but next months should have Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield games. well worth a look it costs £4.99.

01/10/2000
All very quite at the moment after yesterday's 2-0 victory with goals from Neal Ardley and Damien Francis.
