Terry Burton came away from Maine Road on Wednesday night very disappointed he felt we played very well in the first half and lost our shape in the second.

Man of the match vote for the Manchester City game is now open please click below to vote.

Vote for Man of the Match

The youth team are in action tonight in a Youth FA Cup match at Queens Park Rangers.

I have just got back from Manchester (03:00am) after a 2-1 defeat we took the lead through Andy Roberts but City went in front about 10 minutes from the end.

Yet again another brilliant away turnout it could well have been in the region of 4-500 and once again we were behind the team all the way.

Report tomorrow but the programme had a picture of us playing in Everton's kit and the PA announcer said welcome to our opponents Ipswich!

The result of the Man of the Match vote for the Norwich game is below.

Kelvin Davis 11 votes 38%
Damien Francis 10 votes 34%
Dean Blackwell 4 votes 14%
Trond Andersen 2 votes 7%
Neal Ardley 1 vote 3%
Alan Kimble 1 vote 3%

A new vote will open tonight for the Manchester City game.

I am off to bed as I have got work on Thursday morning. NIGHT :)

29/11/2000
With the team being based in the Manchester area today I understand that the plans are for them to have a training session this morning and early afternoon prior to the match tonight.

If we win tonight we will play Ipswich after they beat Coventry 2-1 in their match last night.

I have managed to do the match report for the Norwich game and that can now be read in the reports section.

Due to the Guestbook being used a lot recently I have split it in half so it will now load a lot faster than it did, if you go to the message board right at the bottom if a link to the earlier messages.

28/11/2000
The team today headed north for the game on Wednesday at Manchester City, it will be interesting to see the line up at the game as Darren Holloway is cup tied for the match Alan Kimble went off injured on Saturday and now Jon Harley has returned to Chelsea we could have a problem on the left side of defence.

At long last Trond has updated his site the delay was due to a computer problem he has done a report into the Forest and Norwich games as well as the club shop opening.

As you can see I have done a new poll I would just like to get an idea of if people who visit my site watch the Dons away, with regards to the overseas visitors I know a few of you have seen us away this year but would also like to gauge how many of you are overseas.

The Man of th Match vote for the Norwich game will close on Wednesday so if you haven't voted yet please click below.

Vs Jamaica 65 Votes 55%
Premiership XI 34 Votes 29%
Port Vale 13 Votes 11%
Shouldn't have one 7 Votes 6%

John Hartson has yet again said that as far as he is concerned he wants to stay with the Dons, he added that his aim is to get us in to a play off position that will see us with a chance of returning to the Premiership.

Following on from the shop launch yesterday a couple more pictures, first up is the one of Terry doing th honours with the players looking on.

Next up is a shot of me with Laurence Lowne and Kris Stewart.

The above pictures were taken by Fran O'Toole thanks for that and the use of them.

26/11/2000
Wow what a day, what a return thanks WIMBLEDON we returned back into town in style.

The sun shone and fans, players, directors and staff of our club came along to open the new shop. By the end of the day Chris, Rob and Laura (the staff) had done a brilliant job.

Players that turned up and signed autographs chatted with fans and just seemed to have a good time were, Terry Burton, Neal Ardley, Mark Williams, Trond Andersen, Par Karlsson, Damien Francis, Marcus Gayle and Gareth Ainsworth. Thanks to all the people who have worked behind the scenes to make sure that today worked.

On the shop front can I add my own personal thanks to a person that this issue was very close to her Heart our Marketing Manager Sharon Sillitoe. For people that know Sharon will be aware that when we left Plough Lane she was in charge of the shop and it as so nice that she said a few words before it opened. Nice work Sharon It was a bit of a long wait but today was well worth it!

On the footballing side of things today I managed to chat to a few people one of the points that came up was Jon Harley.

Jon was recalled by Chelsea at 14:45 on Friday afternoon had this been after 15:00 he would of not been able to return to play for Chelsea. I spoke to Terry about if that meant it was the end that we would have seen of him and he confirmed that the original plan was a 3 months loan and then extend it to the end of the season in this case that would have counted as 1 loan period. As Jon has now returned to Chelsea we could do a new loan but it would mean that we would use up another loan deal (loan deals are limited during a season) and we may need to use another one in a different part of the team later in the season.

For you through the night owls and the International crew I have done a special update.

After weeks of questions we can now say

TODAY'S THE DAY OUR SHOP OPENS

As you can see from the special front page it looks brilliant and a full report will be up latter in the day with comments from players, and fans about the shop.

The Man Of The Match vote for the Norwich game is now open please click below to vote.

Vote for Man of the Match

With a game on Wednesday night this vote will close early hours of Thursday morning so please vote as soon as possible.

In the post match press conference Terry Burton yet again praised the travelling fans that made the trip up to Norwich he pointed out that part of the reason for the loud support could be because we are all together in a group.

The support up at Norwich was in the region of 700 and was really good let's try and improve the support at Selhurst to change the form there.

25/11/2000
The day started with the news that Jon Harley had gone back to Chelsea late on Friday night when following injury problems at Chelsea (Jodi Morris went down with flu) they sent a plane to Norwich to fly Jon to Manchester before travelling to Merseyside. He came on for the last 15 minutes of their match.

Another brilliant away day and another 3 points Hartson, and Francis with the goals but Kelvin with a penalty save made sure that the points came home.

Just before departing for Norwich a couple of quick updates.

The Man Of The Match result for the Forest game is below and no real surprise on the result.

Trond Andersen 22 votes 67%
Dean Blackwell 4 votes 12%
Kelvin Davis 4 votes 12%
Damien Francis 1 vote 3%
Mark Williams 1 vote 3%
Neal Ardley 1 vote 3%

On Friday afternoon Vinnie Jones was launching his latest video of football clips when he was surprised by Michael Aspel and the "This is Your Life" Team. I don't know when the show will go out but as soon as I know I will post details.

24/11/2000
New clubs linked with Jason Euell include Spurs and Arsenal and it looks like he could soon be on the move but Chelsea are still favourites to complete a deal for him.

John Hartson is in the squad for the trip to Norwich and is likely to start.

Talking about the "move" to Charlton he says on the Official Site

"I will keep plying my trade here I have never asked for a move. And I have never gone to see the manager to get a move. I am club captain here and am doing alright and am enjoying my football" he also says "Something may happen in the future, who knows. But at the moment I am looking forward to getting Wimbledon into the play-offs.I am fit for selection and hoping to start and continue our good away form at Norwich on Saturday"

For people still thinking about Christmas presents if you fancy getting a Wimbledon Season Ticket the "Santa Special" is back and I believe that an adult ticket in the Homesdale end will cost you £120.00. That works out at £10.00 per match for more details contact the club.

23/11/2000
On the Wimbledon Show tonight Reg and Tony reported that at Sunday's shop opening Terry Burton will be in attendance along with 11 players.

Carl Leaburn has said that he wants to remain with the Dons and try and get back into the team, rather than take up the offer of a move to Cardiff.

The reserves had a 2-0 victory over Southampton at Gander Green Lane on Wednesday night. The first goal was scored by Jonathan Hunt after good work by Karlsson and Ageymang while the second goal just after half time was headed home by Ian Selley.

Yet again it would appear that Par Karlsson had another very good game setting up both goals.

The poll On a testimonial for Robbie Earle will close at the weekend so if you haven't voted yet please do. I will add a new poll over the weekend.

Vote for Man of the Match

22/11/2000
The reserves are due to be in action at Sutton tonight against Southampton. I am not going to the game but will update the result latter.

The vote is also still open for Man Of The Match for the forest game if you haven't voted yet please do.

A quick reminder to keep a space in your diary for Sunday lunchtime afternoon. At 1pm the Club shop in Wimbledon open's and a few players will be in attendance for the event. Come down and celebrate our first real link "Back Home" and start the Christmas shopping.

21/11/2000
They always say in life expect the unexpected and it now looks like the John Hartson transfer to Charlton is OFF.

The last two times that a transfer has fallen through with John has been down to medical conditions but this time we understand that he had the Medical on Thursday (16/11) and agreed terms over the weekend.

Charlton originally wanted to take John on loan but were quoted a figure of between £4 and £5 Million plus Lisbie, it would now seem that they tried to push that price down to nearer the £3 million mark. and the deal has collapsed. It's reported on Weird and Wonderful World that John has been added to the squad for the weekend's game at Norwich.

On Monday of this week the Daily Star reported that there was talk of a Football Stadium being built on land at the Bluewater shopping complex in North Kent they linked the possibility of any combination of teams playing there and included Wimbledon, Gillingham, Charlton, Crystal Palace and Brentford.

20/11/2000
After the all round news of the last few days today has gone a bit quite.

Jason Euell was quoted after the match as saying that he hopes to be playing Premiership football in the near future, and if the rumours are to be believed it could well be with Chelsea.

On the John Hartson side of things W&WW reports that it is just the price that is now holding up things as John has passed his medical and agreed terms with Charlton.

19/11/2000
Match report has now been added for the Nottingham Forest game.

While John Hartson was left out of the side for Saturday's game for the Dons it would also appear that Kevin Lisbie was left out of Charlton's home 2-0 Victory over Chelsea where he could of expected a place on the bench. Reports also suggest that Hartson passed a medical on Thursday and that the deal will be completed on Monday or Tuesday of this week.

By the time you read his we will be less than a week away from the opening of the Club Shop in WIMBLEDON. The shop opens at 1pm on Sunday 26th November and a few players should be there for people to meet.

In case you thought that it might just be tucked away in the corner and no real idea to say it OUR shop I can put you right on that. Below is what I think is the first net picture of the outside and my it looks out of this world.

What a game, What a result, What a performance, What a Goal! You might be able to tell that I am Happy tonight and yes I am :)

Full Report to follow but an Early goal from Euell set us well on our way and it was a brilliant performance, first half the attacking football seemed spot on we seemed to sit back in the second half a bid but defended brilliantly with forest putting us under loads of pressure they scored in injury time to make the score 1-1. Rather than a traditional Dons performance of lets take a point we went straight back to the centre circle put the ball down pressed forward won a corner and then TROND ANDERSEN headed home his first goal for the club. 2-1 victory away against one of the fancied teams in the division brilliant.

John Hartson travelled to Nottingham but was not in the starting line up or on the bench for the match.

Just before I set off for the trip to Nottingham the result of the Fulham Man Of the Match vote.

Neal Ardley 3 votes 20%
John Hartson 3 votes 20%

Damien Francis 2 votes 13%
Dean Blackwell 2 votes 13%
Trond Andersen 1 vote 7%
John Harley 1 vote 7%
Andy Roberts 1 vote 7%
Mark Williams 1 vote 7%
Kelvin Davis 1 vote 7%

17/11/2000
Trond has updated his site and even give an "inside the camp view" on the Hartson situation click on the link on the right to read what he has to say.

The Official Site has put the result of the "Best Robbie Earle Goal" on the site and have video's of each of the top three goals. Nor real surprise in the order.

Also rumoured to be on the move is Carl Leaburn who may move to Cardiff City. Cardiff owner Sam Hammam has said that three players will be unveiled prior to their FA Cup 1st round game on Sunday lunchtime one is believed to be Leaburn.

It now looks like any deal for John Hartson involving Charlton will not take place before early next week. Charlton Manager Alan Curbishley says that it was a side comment made to Terry Burton when Terry enquired about Kevin Lisbie.

Terry Burton seems to have said yes to Alan Curbishley and all of a sudden the story has started to come out.

Alan Curbishley has also said that he hasn't mentioned it to Kevin Lisbie and Hartson's Agent says that they are still a long way off from a deal.

John Hartson has apparently picked up a knock in training and although is likely to travel to Nottingham with the squad he may not play.

Thanks to everyone that voted.

16/11/2000
After a few quite days it looks like Friday will see the Bombshell dropped that in a way we have all expected over almost the past 2 years looks like it will happen.

At about 5pm Thursday I had a call from someone telling me John Hartson will be sold to Charlton in a deal of £4 million pounds and Kevin Lisbie joining the Dons. I was asked to keep the basic of this story under wraps but at about 9pm tonight had a call confirming that the deal is likely to be completed.

From a personal point of view I am disappointed to see John leave us if he does but to an extent I can understand the reason behind it.

It's important to build for the future and we were in a catch 22 situation with John in that if he did well for us teams would come in for him and he didn't do well and we don't go up this season he could well be sold anyway.

John has always had time for supporters and on many occasions has spoken to me about stories that appeared in the press about his to "put the record straight" I would like to say thanks John perhaps it was a case of the Right player at the Wrong time.

Of course if this deal does fall through I will look silly but hey if you have a story go with it.

15/11/2000
The injury situation with the Dons appears to be easing with Peter Hawkins and Michael Thomas both back in full training now. Gareth Ainsworth is training at the Bank Of England site now and therefore with the first team while Michael Hughes is completing extensive work with Steve Allen he hopes to be back before the end of the year.

14/11/2000
Although Paul Robinson has not played much for Burnley in the first month of his loan the deal has been extended for a second month.

13/11/2000
The reserves tonight lost 1-0 Away at Chelsea played at Kingstonian's ground.

Quite a few interesting faces in the crowd, Wilkins, Raneri, Hammam and Jason Euell who stood about 3 yards away from me for the second half as we were behind the dugout and with staff from the club.

12/11/2000
On Monday night the reserves are due to play Chelsea at Kingstonian's ground with the kick off at 7pm.

A disappointing 3-0 defeat against Fulham yesterday.

The vote for the Fulham Man Of The Match is now open.

Vote for Man of the Match

Trond Andersen has done two updates on his site one before the match and one after well worth a read.

11/11/2000

Kelvin Davis 8 votes 29%
Andy Roberts 4 votes 14%

Trond Andersen 1 vote 4%

10/11/2000
A real test on Saturday against High flying Fulham and a chance to show that we can still compete with the "big" teams in this division.

I here that we have a virtual full squad for the match with no one out through suspension and I would also like to think that some of the players would be up for revenge after the cup game last season.

There are no plans for Robbie to make an appearance on Saturday but he will be at the game he is scheduled to make an appearance in centre court in wimbledon to sign copies of the new book "The Premiership Years" he will be there from 11am to 11:45 along with the author.

As you may have read most sites have tributes to Robbie Earle but two sites that are worth a look are the Port Vale site "one vale fan" or the Wimbledon Rivals site which has interviewed him. "The Big Tissue"

Dont forget to keep sending in your messages to me at thanksrobbie@itmustbedons.com

09/11/2000
Quick update tonight - Kjetil Waehler who has yet to play for the first team has broke his leg and is likely to be out for 6 months.

08/11/2000
For almost 10 years Robbie was the central lynch pin of the Dons defence. To many fans there was no better box to box player than our Rob. After a long Career with Port Vale he was tempted to move to the Dons and at first we wondered what we would get.

On the pitch Robbie had speed style and ability to score cracking goals. He always gave 100% and when you met him off the pitch he always had time for everyone.

Although recognised as one of the best midfielders in the country and tracked by many a club he never got that elusive call to the England first team squad that we all knew he deserved. So after much soul searching and knowing it was the last chance for him to prove himself on the big stage he elected to play for Jamaica in the France 98 World Cup.

And on 14th June 1998 in the French city of Lens Robbie proved what we all knew he could score at the top level and a brilliant header against Croatia gave us all a chance to turn round and say "see that what he can do"

Once Robbie had returned he set about writing his story in the brilliant book "One Love" by Robbie Earle and Daniel Davies one day i went down the training ground and asked Robbie if he could sign the book. He said sure and I gave him the book he signed it and I said thanks I took a couple of steps back to see what he had put and he had written "Best Wishes to Wimbledon's no 1 fan Robbie Earle" I was stunned I am not saying the comment is true but all I asked was for Robbie to sign the book and he went to that level.

Two brilliant occasions that I remember at Old Trafford was the last minute equaliser in the cup it went from pride of the display we had done to get a 0-0 draw to distraught when they took the lead and the fact that 3,000 people just knew it was so unfair the singing kept going and 2 minutes latter Robbie scored just pure pandemonium. Another was just after Robbie had played for Jamaica and I had seen the game at Loftus road I had purchased a Jamaican flag to show support for him and Marcus (Gayle) as the players warmed up I called out as they both came out together they both looked up and saw the flag the smile on Robbie's face was pure pride.

Although rejected by his "home" country he was recognised at the highest honour when he became "Member of the British Empire"

Robbie is now reserve manager with the Dons and lets hope he continues there before moving up to help with first team duties.

The final thing I have to say from all Wimbledon Fans, Port Vale Fans and Jamaican Fans along with a fair majority of all football Fans is

Thanks Robbie you will always be remembered As The Brilliant Footballer you were.

If you wish to pass a message on to Robbie please e-mail me at thanksrobbie@itmustbedons.com and I will assure that they are passed on to him.

Short update at the moment with the sad news that Dons Legend Robbie Earle has had to hang up his boots following the injury he suffered at the end of last season.

Too any Dons fan Robbie is a complete hero and has scored many an important goal for both the Dons and also Jamaica.

07/11/2000
The Manchester City game has been confirmed as being on Wednesday 29th November 2000 kick off 7:45 PM at Maine Road.

Wayne Gray has returned from his load spell at Port Vale. Today was also Wayne's 20th Birthday so happy birthday Wayne.

06/11/2000
From Wombling Free by Nick Draper, The club shop in Wimbledon is likely to open on Sunday November 26th at 1pm this is subject to the building work being completed.

There has been a lot of talk following Sunday's game about Rob Geir and the fact he could well have been sent off. On the first incident if the ref followed the letter of the law Rob should of gone but from where I sat I thought when the ball was played the Barnsley player was offside and therefore the free kick should of been awarded to us before the incident happened.

With regards to the second incident I think that the Barnsley launched in on the tackle on the basis that if the ref thought Rob committed a foul he would be off. The ref gave nothing and let play continue.

Just a reminder that the game on Wednesday against Grimsby has been called off so our next game is against Fulham. On Saturday when a big turn out is expected.

The Man Of The Match vote for the Barnsley game is now up please click below to cast your votes.

With the dons not being in action until Sunday lunchtime (live on sky) team news will be delayed till Saturday.

02/11/2000
The hi-tech draw for the third round saw us drawn away against Manchester City the match is likely to take place on either Tuesday 28th or Wednesday 29th November.

And with Chelsea losing against Liverpool Jon Harley will be able to play against City if he is still with us.

The reserves managed a 2-1 win against West Ham last night (Wednesday) after a slow start to the season they have now had back to back victories.

01/11/2000
We will play Manchester City in the next round of the Worthington Cup.

Quite a busy night with regards to the Dons today.

The Reserves are in action against West Ham at Sutton with about 10 minutes to go the Dons were 2-1 up with West ham taking the lead through Paul Kitson. The Dons levelled through Chris Willmott and with about 10 minutes to go Des Byrne scored direct from a free kick.

With the format of the Worthington Cup we know that we will face either Aston Villa or Manchester City in the next round. The Draw for the venue also is still to take place and I will have details as soon as I know.

Another game that holds interest for us is the Liverpool Chelsea game as this could see if Jon Harley can play for us in future games. As all the time that Chelsea are in the cup Harley cannot play for us.

The Man Of The Match vote for the Boro game is now open.

Vote for Man of the Match

The Away Kit voting has now closed and I have sent the result to the club once it is officially known I will let you all know thanks for everyone that voted and it was a well turned out vote.

Another thing that made Tuesday game special was meeting Ian Feuer's mum after I had been in e-mail contact with her she met a number of our fans who she had also had contact with and it was nice to meet her in real life.
