Before this game I asked for Passion, Pride and Commitment both on and off the pitch Today at Bradford and I can happily say it was their in bucket loads unfortunately what I didn't ask for was 3 competent official and therefore we ended up with a 3-0 defeat and are now in the bottom three. don't be downbeat be very proud of the boys more details to follow on Monday.

So this is it the day of the match against Bradford for the people that are unable to go we will give it our all . COME ON YOU DONS.

The result of the poll as to "Should Hartson play" is as follows: -
Less than 30% (2) 7%
31%-40% (1) 4%
41%-50% (1) 4%
51%-60% (5) 19%
61%-70% (2) 7%

As the countdown to the match gets closer and the Nerves increase it's all pretty quite out their regards to the news.

Most of the Papers have done their standard hatchet job on the Dons explaining why it would be so brilliant if the Dons were to go down. Any player connected with Wimbledon Football Club who reads these reports would give 150% at tomorrows game.

John Hartson has come out with the following quote. "I want to be involved. I want to be in that dressing room winding people up for it. If I'm in that dressing room I'll really whip them up" he also added "I haven't played a game for four months but I've been training hard, I've been in the gym every day so my weight is OK. I won't be match fit but if he gives me an hour, I'll give it everything."

As the game gets closer the media seem to be comming up with yet more and Dons coverage.

Today Joe Kinnear was given an opportunity to show how much he loves the club! i am not going to cover this at the moment as it is not the sort of thing that Dons fans want to read prior to the big game.

It would appear that the game may now be sold out as we only had 70 tickets left at the start of today if you do not have a ticket and still wish to go phone the box office on (020) 8771-8841 first thing on Saturday morning.

Weird and Wonderful World has said that Ben Thatcher and John Hartson will start on the bench on Sunday Hartson is not match fit but asked that he be allowed to travel and atleast be on the bench for this match.

The players are now up north and will train on Saturday this gives them a full day to sort any tactics out.

I have updated the Big Match Countdown Section.

27/04/2000
Their were mixed results for the players on the International side of things on Wednesday night. Sullivan was man of the math for Scotland against Holland and kept a clean sheet. Kenny Cunningham was involved in a 1-0 defeat for the Republic of Ireland. Badir also played for Israel apparently upfront with Berkovic!

Sully has once again confirmed that no one has come in for him with regards to his contract being up in the summer.

I have updated the Big Match Countdown Section.

With it being Thursday night (As I write this) it's the "Madam Cholet Therapy Session" and will start from 19:30 in "The Price Of Wales" outside Wimbledon Station.

26/04/2000
Want Kit news come to itmustbedons.com - Next years Wimbledon kit WILL NOT HAVE THE CRAZY GANG LOGO ON IT. After much pressure from fans the club and Puma have decided to drop it.

Egil Olsen has gone to Norway to pick up the Norwegian FA's gold medal for services to football. he will be back On Friday. This may seem a strange time to go away but with so many players on International duty not much will be going on before Friday.

Both The Sun and Sport Live (The Express) went with exclusives that Drillo will be replaced in the summer by Aage Hareide who is the current manager of Brondby in Denmark. The sun says that if we were to go down an English manager would be selected otherwise Hareide will be in charge.

The papers also picked and chose items out of the Carl Cort interview from last week and gave it as a fresh interview that seemed to say that none of the players can stand Drillo.

Tonight see's some international games taking place with the Republic of Ireland playing Greece, Northern Ireland home to Hungary and Scotland away at Holland. Other games include Norway Vs Belgium. We have quite a few player representing their countries tonight and to see a quote from Kenny Cunningham about the Bradford game check out my Big Match Countdown Section.

25/04/2000
As a start to the Build up for the big game at the weekend I have put together a page that can be accessed by clicking the graphic below.

Terry Burton has been appointed Assistant Manager, this is a major appointment as some of the best football that we played and result that we had under Joe Kinnear came when Terry Burton was his assistant and In my opinion our form started to drop when Terry was sent to Scout across Europe lets hope that he can get the result we need before the end of Season.

Their are still tickets left for the two remaining away games of the season.

For Bradford game their are Limited Numbers and for the Southampton Match their are about 200 left. Contact the Box Office as soon as possible to make sure that you are at these major games.

24/04/2000
If next weeks game wasn't big enough for us Bradford's result at Sunderland today now makes it even bigger. It's now as simple as this IF WE LOSE AT BRADFORD WE ARE IN THE BOTTOM THREE.

The reserve game against Chelsea that was due to be played at Kingsmeadow Kingston on Tuesday night has been cancelled and will now be played on Monday 15th May 2000, the day after we play at Southampton.

I have now closed the poll on should we not sign anymore Norwegians no matter how good they are? the result is as follows: -

Sign Them - 22 Votes or 61%
Don't Sign Them - 14 Votes or 39%

I have added a new poll on the front page the new question is "At what fitness level would you play John Hartson at Bradford?" The vote will stay open until late Saturday night so please vote as soon as possible.

I have now typed up a review of the Spurs match but it is not as in-depth as usual.

23/04/2000
A very disappointing performance by too many players on the pitch yesterday saw us lose 2-0 but more of that later in the Match report section.

Yesterday morning saw a group of Dons fans me included on Sky TV's Soccer AM program it was a really good show and he is a picture of us with the presenters Helen Chamberlain and Tim Lovejoy.

As well as being on soccer AM yesterday morning and BBC's Choice Row Z last night I was also shown on Norwegian TV with a mention about the Man of the Match vote on my site. If you haven't voted please do click on the link on the front page.

22/04/2000
Just a quick update as I am fading fast after a long day.

a 2-0 defeat for us against Spurs but also the same scoreline for Sheffield Wednesday so the league table hasn't changed.

Congratulations to Charlton for promotion to the Premier League for next season just hope we will be playing them!

Update tomorrow of match and also my day in TV land. Soccer AM and Row Z.

So a big day today My day starts with being at Wimbledon Station for 06:00 to meet the guys for the Sky show then after that we are off for the big game with Spurs once that is over I am off to a pub in Kings Cross for BBC On Digital's Row Z show.

The result from yesterday of Bradford 4 Derby 4 was most probably the best result we could of hoped for and if we can get a win at White Hart Lane we will move above Derby.

The result of the Liverpool Man of the Match vote is as follows: -

Michael Hughes 12 votes 48%
Trond Andersen 6 votes 24%
Martin Andresen 4 votes 16%
Hermann Hreidarsson 2 votes 8%
Andy Roberts 1 vote 4%

E X C L U S I V E

After breaking the news about our kit deal with Puma I can now revile the colours of the second and third kits next year.

The Away kit will be GREEN and the third choice kit will be White this will also mean that if we are unable to wear the all green away kit we can mix and match the Second and Third Choice kit's i.e. Green top and White Short. As soon as I get a picture of this I will post it on my site.

As today is a Bank Holiday here in the UK it gave me a chance to go to the training ground and see our players working!

The morning started with me walking through Wimbledon and Drillo waving to me from his car.

Down at the training ground I managed to grab a few words with John Hartson who is still a couple of weeks away from full fitness. I got on to discuss about his article in the programme last week and he wanted to know what the fan reaction was to it. I said it had been very good and it had certainly done the job that it was aimed to do. I the asked John the thorny question about his agent and he did say that he felt he had been let down by the comments that had been made by Mr Barnett, and was aware that his agent was also trying to increase his profile. Once again when speaking to John it is quite clear that he loves Wimbledon and is desperate to do well for us.

Team news for Saturday Thatcher and Kimble were due to be back but Thatcher limped out of training five minutes before the end so we will have to see if he can play on Saturday.

20/04/2000
Our match against Spurs will be shown live in Scandinavia by Canal+. This most probably means it's a main game on Match Of Th Day here in the Uk as well.

The Daily Mirror has reported that Robbie has had to have 10 pints of blood replaced following his blood clot that he suffered following the reserve match at Watford last Wednesday.

I can confirm that I will b one of he Wimbledon Fans on Sky TV's Soccer AM on Saturday morning. The show starts at 8:00AM UK time.

For anyone who fancies a drink or two tonight it see the usual Thursday night "Madam Cholet Therapy Session" although tonight is being turned into a celebration of the fact that we have signed the deal for Prince George's Playing Fields. The night starts at about 7:30 in the Prince of Wales pub outside Wimbledon Station and will progress from their.

19/04/2000
Not a lot going on at the mo but major news on Southampton tickets.

We had 700 to start with these have gone!! the club has now been allocated an additional 400 these should now be on sale ONCE THESE TICKETS ARE SOLD THEIR ARE NO MORE THE GROUND WILL BE SOLD OUT.

I have been informed that I have made an error in the name of the proposed site for our new training ground the site is called Prince George's Playing Fields (PGPF) and not named after my local Hospital 9St George's).

On Saturday morning their is a fair chance that the Wimbledon fans could be the fans of the week on soccer AM

18/04/2000
Tickets for the Southampton away game are going really fast now their is believed to be under 100 left out of an allocation of 400! I would presume that we will get some more but that is to be seen.

The London Evening Standard tonight had an exclusive that the Dons are aiming to have their new training ground at an area know as "St George's Playing Fields (SGPF)" This news has been know by a few of us for a number of days now and Marc Jones of Weird and Wonderful World has a map of the site and some more details.

The Standard also confirms that the Sam / Gjelsten deal has now been completed this means that Sam no longer owns any major shareholding in the club.

I have now typed up the report for the first half of the Liverpool game and also a second half summary.

Andreas Lund has updated his site and says that although it was a good performance we now need points.

On a lighter note the company that is behind the adverts for John Hartson's "Hair growing back" have had to withdraw the adverts as they have found to be misleading.

17/04/2000
Neil Sullivan has been called up for Scotland's game next Wednesday.

The Man of the Match vote for the Liverpool match is now open click below to vote.

Vote for Man of the Match

16/04/2000
Yes another defeat but this showed pride passion and a fighting spirit.

One last thing tonight must say a huge well done to everyone with regards to the minute's silence that was held it wasn't even necessary for Phillo to say anything over the PA everyone just rose to their feet and observed it brilliantly.

Today we face Liverpool at Selhurst Park it will be a tough game but if we can get anything out of it it could well see us take that step towards safety. The kick off is at 1pm.

Robbie Earle is reported to be in Hospital following his injury he received during the reserve's 2-1 victory at Watford. Robbie was kicked in the stomach and it is believed he is suffering from a blood clot.

The result of the Sheffield Wednesday Man of the Match award was as follows: -

Duncan Jupp 8 votes 73%
Trond Andersen 3 votes 27%

15/04/2000
Went down the Training ground this morning and I have never seen puddles like it. The team trained for about an hour right over on the far pitch.

I did quite a big interview with Norwegian TV and tonight sees me on BBC's choices Row Z which is on Digital.

Ben Thatcher told one of our fans that he is prepared to stay at Wimbledon he is just waiting for the contract to be put in front of him.

Also down the Training ground was Bjorn Gjelsten this is the first time I have met Bjorn and I must say what a nice man he is he had time to talk to anyone who wanted to speak to him.

He has currently been in the country for the last 3 weeks sorting out the "Sam situation" he did confirm that the story in the sun was true but it would be sorted today it regards an insurance policy and it takes time to sort out.

Bjorn also said that the club is looking at running between 20 and 30 Coaches to Bradford that would be between 1000 and 1500 fans that could make the journey. If the club does make this offer please take it up it would be a great chance to show what great fans that we have.

Today is the 11th Anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster where 96 Liverpool fans lost their lives at an FA Cup Semi Final. If you get a spare moment just take a minute to remember these fans. all football matches being played today are kicking off at 3:06 which was the time that the match was stopped on that day.

Also check out the Hillsborough Justice web site http://www.hillsboroughjustice.org.uk/

I am going down the training ground this morning so I will report back details this afternoon.

14/04/2000
Their is a lot of news about today even though we are not playing till Sunday so let's get started.

The 'Goal' that Michael Hughes scored at Sunderland has now official been declared an Own goal by the FA's Dubious goals panel.

Robbie Earle has been linked with a move to Brentford where Ron Noades says that he could do well as both a player and in helping the younger players at the club.

The WFC AGM was today and their was a story in The Sun today had a story saying that the Sam / Bjorn deal had to be completed by today or Sam could take back his 20% share in the club. It's not a mater of money but something to do with the Tax side of things.

So what did go on at the FA yesterday? the Ref's report seems to say that for a period of 3 minutes their was a huge fight in and around the Chelsea dressing room. The FA accepted Wises plea of self defence so this doesn't look good for us. The papers have said that as it has been cancelled and will re-start in full in a couple of weeks time it means that points cant be deducted. Why not? are they looking to see where we finish in the table? This story is not over by a long way.

The result of the Sunderland Man of The Match vote is as follows: -

Trond Andersen 6 Votes
Michael Hughes 3 Votes

Norwegian Second division club Ski have asked to take Martin Andresen on Loan during the Norwegian Season Lars has turned round and said that martin need to Rest and Train not play matches so the loan will not be taking place at the moment.

The Man Of the Match vote for the Sheffield Wednesday vote is now open.

The FA Hearing into the Chelsea match has been adjourned. Does this mean serious trouble i.e. points deduction?

The story is comming out that so far 3 hours worth of evidence has been heard from Wimbledon but the FA have elected to adjourn the case for an unspecified time.

Spurs are meant to be interested in Ben Thatcher as so to link up The Perry and Thatcher Defence again.

The decision on the Dons Vs Chelsea is due to be announced very soon. Chelsea's punishment has been announced and they have been fined £50K plus costs, wise has also been fined but no details on what has happened to us yet.

After the disappointment of last night (Wednesday) it is important to remember that our destiny is still in our own hands.

If you woke up this morning and felt really bad just think what the players are feeling and before anyone says it yes they do care.

With five games to go it is important that we get behind the team. We showed how well we can back the team last night and we need to put all differences aside at the moment.

While the first team were in action the reserves had a 2-1 victory at Watford.

Friday see's Wimbledon football club's Annual General Meeting and this is where I understand the completion of the change of ownership will take place.

12/04/2000Ok a 2-0 defeat tonight. This result will settle nothing tonight and it is still in our hands. a full write up will be done on Thursday.

Kenny Dalglish was at the game tonight and I presume he was their to watch Sully for Celtic.

As Lars said today's date should be marked in red on every Don's fans calendar so the text today is all in Red.

This is it the day that could well go to decided our Premiership future the match against Sheffield Wednesday allows us the possibility of increasing the gap between us and Bradford to 9 points.

No matter what your current views are at the moment it is important that as many people as possible go to the game and back Wimbledon Football Club.

We know that their is likely to be a very poor crowd their but if we can get behind the team not only could we pick up three valuable points but also could improve our goal difference.

The Players realise how important today's game is and Andreas Lund has even said that we will "Win at all Cost's" they do care and lets get behind them and Sing for all the whole game.

I will keep the current Man Of The Match vote open till after tonight's match so be careful after the game to check that the new vote is up before voting for the Sheffield Wednesday game.

Proud to be a Womble

11/04/2000
Whilst talking to Lars on Saturday he expressed concern about Carl Cort injury and seemed to indicate that he may not play again for atleast the next few weeks.

Both Trond and Andreas have updated their sites following the weekend's game and are both worth a read.

10/04/2000
Robbie Earle is rumoured to be lined up for a move as Player/Manager of Bournemouth.

The man of the match vote for the Sunderland game is now open click below to vote. The vote will only stay open until Wednesday morning (very early so please vote ASAP)

Vote for Man of the Match

09/04/2000
If we want to look at the current situation in a better way we lost away at Sunderland on Saturday while Bradford lost at Home to Southampton. This means that we are in the same position as we were on Friday but with one game less for Bradford to close the gap on us.

Bradford were counting on winning all their home games a few weeks ago to give them a chance of survival and the defeat against Southampton will really hurt them.

On Wednesday night we play Sheffield Wednesday at Selhurst Park this is our biggest game of the season it is as simple as that.

I spoke to Lars at Newcastle station after the game and he said "It's our cup final everyone should look at the calendar and but a big red circle round the date it is a game we MUST win".

At the station the players seemed pretty down about the result and rightly so they didn't let anyone down and know what needs to be done.

It is reported that Robbie Earle didn't travel to Sunderland after he was told on Friday that he would only be on the bench he is "alleged" to have said if I don't start I don't travel.

With the season fast comming to a close it's time to select the "Player of the Year" click on the banner below (or on the front page) to read my views and cast your vote. Please only vote once and leave any comments that you would like to make.

08/04/2000
So a 2-1 defeat at Sunderland but all I can say at the moment is that today's performance had a lot of pride about it. Full report on Sunday.

The result of the Arsenal Man of the match vote is as follows: -

Trond Andersen 10 votes 26%
Michael Hughes 9 votes 26%
Duncan Jupp 5 votes 14%
Kenny Cunningham 4 votes 11%
Andreas Lund 4 votes 11%
Martin Andresen 2 votes 6%
Dean Blackwell 2 votes 6%

07/04/2000
After the news that Hermann and Carl Cort should return the news just gets better Ben Thatcher is in the squad for the trip north to Sunderland.

Ben has been out since the Sunderland game on January 3rd when the now famous incident happened with Sumerbee. It will be interesting to see if he plays but I am sure that he will get a nice reception.

If everyone is back we should have a pretty much full first team and hopefully we can start to get the points that we need in the final 7 games of the season.

06/04/2000
Before I get into the Wimbledon news I would just like to add my sympathies to every one connected to Leeds United Football club and the Two fans that died in Turkey on Tuesday night. No body who goes to a football match/trip should have to face trouble like that as on the whole we all love the game.

The reserves won -0 against Southampton on Wednesday night.

Michael Hughes has said that if Olsen stays next season he is likely to leave.

05/04/2000
The reserves are due to play their last game at Gander Green Lane of the season tonight against Southampton.

Weird & Wonderful world has reported that yet again we are being linked with a move to Milton Keynes. This is one of those stories that is easy to link with us as Milton Keynes want a team and we don't have a ground.

04/04/2000
Carl Cort says he should be fit for the game at Sunderland at the weekend and has also added that he is more than happy at Wimbledon and is confident that we will stay up he adds

"I'm committed 100% to Wimbledon," said Cort. "Whenever I'm out on the pitch I'll be giving everything to get us a result.
If nothing happens in the summer then I will be more than happy to stay here. I'm not looking too much into it at the moment because I want to concentrate on getting fit and back to help us out of trouble.
"I've been a Wimbledon player for all of my career so far, and we're all confident of staying up.

Jason Euell has been given a 1 match ban for his sending off against Arsenal and will miss the game against Liverpool.

The result of the poll "If Players want to leave should we have a summer clearout?" was a resounding yes, 22 people out of 27 said yes with 5 no's.

I have added a new poll based on the story that the club didn't want to try and sign Bardsen due to the fact he his Norwegian and some fans may take it the wrong way. So do you think that it matters if good quality players are Norwegian or not, cast your vote on the front page.

03/04/2000
Andreas Lund has been accused by the Media of diving to get the Arsenal player sent off, he has said that he was fouled but didn't think the player should of been sent off.

Jason Euell's sending off has moved us down to third place in the fair play league now Sheffield Wednesday and Manchester United are above us but their are only three points between the clubs.

02/04/2000
The match report for the Arsenal game is now up.

In the Programme on Saturday their was a very good article on the Norwegian page I have produced the article in full at the following link Postcard from Norway. another very good article was the Rome in a day one and you can read that here "Rome In A Day"

The general consensus of opinion following the coverage of Match of the Day was that Jason Euell had to go for his foul which led to the penalty, at the time I thought he had won the ball fair and square.

I managed to grab a quick couple of words with Hermann prior to the game on Saturday and he confirmed that he will be back for next weeks game at Sunderland.

The man of the match vote for the Arsenal game is now open click below to vote.

Vote for Man of the Match

Derby won 3-0 today against Leicester and so they are now only a point behind us, next week they are away at Watford.
