I don't often post here, but before I leave to celebrate another year, I'd like to say a big 'thank-you' to everyone connected with the club - from the volunteers who help out on a matchday and during the week in the office, to the players and management - for helping make this one of the best years in recent memory. Cheers and here's to a great 2004,

Paul - What I assume Ripper is refering to, is a rectangular grid with all the teams going down the left hand side and across the top. The teams on the left hand side refer to the home team. So, if you want to see what the result was between AFC Wimbledon and Merstham, you look up the Dons on the left hand side and Merstham across the top and where they meet, the grid would read 3-2. If the game is yet to be played it would have the date in there instead of the score. I apologise, Ripper, if I'm wrong. Happy New Year to all Dons fans!!

Ripper - right understanding what you mean now so a couple more questions. 1) Do you mean before or After games? i.e. previous game played or like whistle goes at 4:45 a table soon avaliable? 2) If after what time would people be prepared to wait until for it? reason I ask is that it's rare that the confirmed results are in before 5:30. - Pleased to look into these but need to know what we are looking at.

And congratulations on 400,000 hits, - Monday, December 29, 2003 at 11:41:07 (PST)
Just following up a couple of the posts below over us just having to turn up to win. We can only play who is put in front of us in the CCL and for this season, no team has really been able to cope with us. However, I will never tire of seeing us win and score loads of goals as I know that the next two-three seasons will see much sterner tests and we will lose matches believe it or not! So make the most of it - season's like this come along once in a blue moon.

STD - agree with your additional comments. Have only really gone apesh*t about 5 times this season when we've scored (Merstham & Herne Bay really) whereas when supporting WFC every goal we scored was that more important IYSWIM. Still, onwards and upwards - this season, in years to come, will be looked upon as a golden era as we certainly will never win 20 games on the bounce again.

- Monday, December 29, 2003 at 03:33:29 (PST)
agree with serious a little it must be said. getting a bit (how can I put this?) predictably good. knowing we are going to win is a feeling that isn't as great as it sounds, and though there are many things i'm glad to be rid of with the old wimbledon, the feeling when the ball hits the back of the net (except on the odd ocassions this season) isn't the same, and its something I WANT back. at the moment the Vase cannot be put into words its importance for the season. i will still go to as many games as i can, but when you see dons score then 5 seconds later two people behind you carry on their conversation about last weekend, it puts into place how vital promotion is (ryman prem is a MUST) But saying that, 4000 people turning up to watch a forgone conclusion says it all really and just think how this could grow once it gets competitive...

- Sunday, December 28, 2003 at 17:32:18 (PST)
Agreed, the league is getting a bit slow now. Can't really see anyone giving us a game apart from the wallies now. Whilst us whipping teams is enjoyable to a degree, we really do need competative games (only had 1 decent game - Merstham) and speaking to lots of people the Vase is the thing that's keeping the interest going.

Another total farce except this time had misfortune to have arrived at ground. Like last week pitch was actually playable at kick off time but police seem to think this is some huge security risk to them, despite for the Salisbury match they had one policeman sitting in a chair having a drink by the clubhouse! Time is now for the game to be moved to a more suitable ground and east of Totton not West!

How terrific, I wondered how long before this pretend supporter would show his face on here. So let me get this right you would like us to visit the AskMK website, now that is the one that for the first 2 months of this hijack the dates of the fixtures were endlessly wrong, as well as the League table and you have a forum which no one but the half dozen prefabricated supporters in the club are allowed to write on. I also would not waste you time trying to raz people on this site and concentrate on the others. I would like to think that you have got the message that we are not in the slightest interested in your site and never will be.

Matt - It states 1570 at various places which would seem about right though when you see their methods of calculating this i.e. a girl with a clicker at half time it may be a bit of a guess...but aren't they all! I presume the guess of 700 at Reading was done even less scientifically.

Why not make it easier to call the game off yesterday afternoon when we could announce on websites, at the kids party etc and stop the problems of people setting off?

I think people vote for Sully, even when he plays indifferently, as a way of trying to encourage him since he is the player targetted by many fans. He does look to be a confidence player and it's quite understandable people react in this way, if not altogether logical.

Paul - Do you think that it would be a good idea to put a further reminder on the site ref: the Share issue which is still open but only till beginning of January? Since the £1m was raised in the summer all websites have been pretty quiet about it and we do need at least another £1m whilst paying £9,000 a month interest. There must be a number of people out there who do not appreciate the situation and would be happy to contribute. Otherwise we are going to have a huge debt for the forseeable future.

Dorking Don, you seemed to have missed Rule#1 of AFC Holidays. That being Paul R has to check all the locations first. So you forfeit your holiday and have to come back to the UK where it has been rain for what feels like 2 weeks, but we still have a water shortage looming.

Rich, I looked at Tony Kempster's site as well and if he is right then yes it would appear that we will would need to win promotion this year to stay put at the same level. Everyone else in the CCL will drop one level. Great thing progress isn't it!

I've just been looking at the Tony Kempster site concerning the proposed non league restructuring for next season.
At the moment we are at what they refer to as step 4 of the pyramid. After restructuring, with the creation of conference north & south below the current conference, we will still be at step 4. Is this right?

I seem to recall that there was plenty of street parking about 5-10mins from the ground last year, so can't see the point of parking at FTFC and paying £4.

Paul - Excellent Vase section. Seems extraordinary that in a season when we have so few Home Saturday games that coincidently the 7 rounds from 2nd round Qualifying to 6th Round are all due on Saturdays when we were meant to be at home. So if we got to the 6th Round they would have rearranged seven home games and when you consider we get approx. 400 more than in the week it is a bit frustrating. So we need to go and win the thing now.

Excellent. I feel that saturday was our most complete performance so far especially when considering the conditions. The passing and commitment was excellent and everyone had a good game. Think many sites have been a bit hard on WBC in that they were pretty fit and made it quite a hard game for the first 75 minutes. Though they threatened very little up front. Would put this performance ahead of away to Chipstead and home to Wallingford ( I did not go to Herne Bay). Would be interested to hear other peoples top three games so far?
