Gus - It could be the vase or it could be neither. As I mentioned in the news section on the 8th if we are in the CCL we will be in the Vase otherwise the trophy we wont be in the FA Cup until season after. no idea about lemar or anyone else.

I just called Crawley Town Football club, they said they have been waiting to hear back from AFC Dons about a friendly. When I spoke to Terry Eames on Monday he said he had been waiting to hear from them !! The chap from CTFC said he would call Trevor/the club. Now I wonder if thats the game for the 16th ?? Hope so.

Feltham beat Hendon FC tonight in the Middlesex Super Cup, which is a cup match between the winners of the Middx Charity Cup (Feltham) and the winners of the Middx Senior Cup (Hendon). Everdon - (or should it be 'Everkeynes' now?) read the messages from supporters of other CCL clubs - they are supportive of AFCW stepping up to RL. Obviously, they would like the cash generated by 1,000 or so travelling supporters (who can blame them? after all it's more than other 1st division clubs can expect from the franchise!) bringing money to their clubs, but on the whole, they wish us well.

John - many thanks for your very sincere, kind and encouraging words about our team.
Peterboro Don - you made me laugh when you asked about voting for the lion being MOTM! I did like him myself!
Paul - yes Robbo DID use that word which really disappointed me. I've noticed in the past that he's tried to calm some of the other players down a bit when things have got fraught. I know he must have been frustrated yesterday but I just wish I hadn't heard him use language like that. Maybe I should've got some soap from the machine in the loos behind me, to wash his mouth out(!):-) Do you know what Coops calls him?! A pikey!! (He told us that at the dinner on Thursday night). afc Wimbledon have been a (badly needed)shot in the arm for the Combined Counties league. Most fair minded fans wish you all the best for the future. I'm delighted you didn't run away with the league in as much as it helps demonstrate the standard is probably much better than most people imagine. I still believe a way will be found to promote you. But if I'm wrong you'll be very welcome - and better prepared - in the Combined Counties next season.

Hong Kong - Sunday, May 04, 2003 at 03:41:45 (PDT)
Paperdon - All a bit of a myth it sounds like the way I understand it is as follows: - Rymans would love to have us in there league BUT the Combined Counties Constitution states that only clubs who finish in the top two will be put forward to the Rymans AGM for possible promotion. Therefore the CCL hold our registration and if they dont want us to go we cant, the only thing that may happen is that a "deal" is agreed between the Rymans and CCL to allow us to be put forward.

Paperdon
Hong Kong - Sunday, May 04, 2003 at 03:23:14 (PDT)
Paperdon - Its been an incredible season, in answer to your questions hope the following helps. 1) Netherne Cup Final - Netherne were the local team who we used as our reserve team most of the players who cant get a run out in the first 11 play for Netherne and Trigger is there manager, Netherne have reached a cup final and therefore a lot of AFC fans will be going to watch and this site will be covering it. due to the expected large crowd they have moved the game from the proposed venue to T&M ground that can hold a lot more fans. - The Cherry Red Books Trophy is one that still annoys a lot of AFC Fans but the thing is we applied for it when we thought we would be in the Rymans 2 league this has a lot less teams and therefore a number of free saturdays when the CRBT games can be played. The team we were due to play didn't have floodlights and therefore demanded (as was there right) that the game be played on a Saturday due to fixture commitiments we couldn't play and therefore we had to withdraw from it.

As I have reluctantly not been to any games due to location problem, I have been follwing the results on this and the official AFC Wimbledon site. As this message board is more helpful, I would like to ask 2 questions:
1.What is the Netherne Cup Final? and since when were we in it?
2.Why did we withdraw from the Cherry Red Books Trophy?

Edin. Don. From what I can see the only people following Franchise now are a.)people who have only known Prem. & 1st Div. football and certainly could not bare to watch non league, b.) People who live in teh Croydon area who have semi supported them as they were local and presumably will not go to MK. C.) Friends and relatives. d.) the many thousands of MK inhabitants who are bussed in and can hardly wait for the likes of Crewe, Bradford, Wigan and Burnley to arrive in Town.

Would anyone be as stupid to wear a go-mk shirt at an afcw game?! It seems that the few who remain are following the franchise through blind 'loyalty'. Although apparently, CK has paid for tickets for some away games, so maybe that 'loyalty' isn't so much blind as bought? I can't understand anyone feeling they owe WFCLtd anything, least of all loyalty, after the way they've treated us all, but there you go. Personal differences are playing a part too - some apparently don't like Kris Stewart or Marc Jones, and perceive AFCW as 'their' club and stay away.

ED-anyone is welcome at AFC, and i hope you pass on that message to your friend. although, any GO:MK shirts would cause severe probs. i'd love to floor that ivan the blue from the franch's forum though. drag them along monday if you can, 3000+

2 comments from different letters:
a) In my opinion any Franchise supporter who comes to AFC, will be welcome back to the fold with open arms. I would not hold any grudges at all. I can understand that some would watch Wimbledon through "thick and thin" and anyone who saw the light and changed to AFC would not be abused.
b)I cant see Wimbledon going back to London now and even if they did, I think most would stay with AFC.

Congratulations to AFC Wimbledon for doing so well in the league! I like English football very much and appreciate its tradition and was very disgusted when WFC were allowed to move away from London. I have a question: Do you think that Wimbledon FC will ever return to London? I mean, one day in the future somebody will come and buy the club as it happens with all the clubs. If that man wanted to return the club to London, would it be possible? Is it realistic? And if it happened, would you guys support that club again? Sorry if this sounds provocative, but I would be interested to see what's your opinion on this.
Anyway, good luck to AFC Wimbledon! Hope to see you in professional football some day.

Dev - cheers means a lot to us fans always nice to see Charlton Fans at AFC games and we have seen a number there this year. - ED - I think most would be welcome only a couple who have continued to slag off AFCW that wouldn't be welcome.

I was recently talking to someone who still goes to Selhurst, and is considering going to MK(Please spare me the 'talking to the enemy' comments - I've heard them all before). However, the way he described a 'home' game, is that the 'CK loyalists' realise that they are being crapped on but, he feels that he couldn't go to AFCW because certain characters know him and he wouldn't be welcome. Just interested to know - if someone turns up who has been going to SP - would they get a hard time? If so, why?

Cooper 38 goals, no headers sounds the complete opposite of Eddie Reynolds who would try to head the ball even if only six inches off the ground.

Cooper header? I reckon his only chance is if he dribbles past the keeper, goes to the line, kneels down and then heads it in!

Who are these alleged 45? These tossers make my blood boil. On the subject of DVD's/ Videos I have to say I agree with u Ivor. Still we can't have it all as those who produce them do a stirling job. I think the Wallies copy was not so good as the others!

Anyone bought an AFC DVD this season? Whilst I appreciate that we do not have all the highest technology I have to say I was very disappointed with the sound quality on the Wallies copy. Any chance of having the microphones dotted around the ground rather than listening to those surrounding the camera? This I must stress is not a criticism of the great effort BUT just a mere suggestion for future DVD/ Video productions. Keep up the good work.

I had the misfortune of going to support Ipswich on Saturday, staying with a friend in Suffolk. 45 Franchise supporters and felt very strange here the dichevelled gaggle singing 'Come on You Dons'. Ipswich were rubbish and the Midlanders scored everytime they went forward. A surreal afternoon made more so when all the Ipswich fans cheered the fifth goal. Obviously would rather have been at KM.
Surely one of theese Willdive 2000 players must have been ineligeble in some way, there must be someone who can look into it for us? Anyone think Wallingford will lose to Feltham and draw at home to Ash? It is not out of the question.

Just a fundraising idea-Since they might be doing an AFC All Stars match with supporters and players why not do a match for the children. You clould have the Under14 JD's v The ones that didn't quite make it or were just that bit too old. The ones who want to face the JD's could pay something to be in the team and it would be good expeireance (sp?) for the JD's before their season...

It's a shame that Withdean's results aren't starting to wane like its attendances! Never mind - we MUST win our remaining games. As regards your announcement of "retiring", Paul, I think (and hope) it was only said in the heat of a moment, eg after reading about the debates on here or after a particularly hard day at work or something. You can't possibly leave us! See you at the game tomorrow....that is if it's not rained off!
