Apprantley Felthams pitch was vanderlised and part of the astroturf was ripped up (not true they were trying to cover the roof with it)

Can someone tell me why Felthams game at home was called off tonight. Had the stand finally been condemmed, weakened by 1300 people standing on it a few weeks ago? Life not so fantastic on plastic!!

Ian - Someone found a quote from Craig saying he had a falling out with Terry. Also remember that Craig is only 17 (I think) so would of been one of our future players it was also a time we were finding our feet. It's certinaly been a interesting year for Craig as he broke his leg just after he left us and thought he would be out for 6 months.

Craig Carley to Yeovil! Blimey. They are about to win the Conference. He'll be a pro-player soon. Good for him. Wonder why Terry didn't rate him?

Adrian, Sam the Don and aaaaaaa, the attendances this seasons have been one of the very few aggravating features about this season. We all laugh about Selhurst Park and the Koppelator but some of the official figures at away games are about as accurate. I still feel the most ridiculous were Frimley and Farnham. Anyone got any other ideas........I presume we will be giving Ash a nice warm welcome tomorrow night as they were such charming hosts in August!!

adrian-i only guessed 1200 tbh, though i reckon i was closer than the official attendance. if there was 1400 at chessington on hook there was no way only 990 at cobham saturday.

Hi Paul and all.I've asked a friend to sort out an AFC Wimbledon club badge wallpaper which is compatible with following mobile phones :Nokia 5100, 6610, 6100, 6800, 7210, 7250 which has been uploaded to following website (I've been assured that there is no charge for this other than normal wap connection charge). http://www.phonefun4u.com/gallery/ then select 'sports' to find the AFC logo. To download the picture to your phone, simply navigate through your phone using WAP to http://www.phonefun4u.com/gallery/img/afcwimbledon16141.gif I've uploaded it to my 7210 phone and it looks mighty fine...

As discussed at last night's WISA meeting, WISA is hoping to publish a booklet this May commemorating WFC's victory in the 1963 FA amateur cup final. The plan is to publish a sort of "coffee table" book with lots of big pictures. Photos can be obtained from picture agencies and from some of the surviving players. But if anyone has any photos of the team or the club that day and would like to contribute them, please drop me a line at the above email address. I'm particularly keen to get photos of things like the crowd outside the Town Hall after the game, fans setting off for Wembley or arriving (or just good crowd shots) and any photos of Sydney Black's Rolls Royce. All ideas will be gratefully received.

I read the Feltham Owners comments in the non-league paper about last saturday being the last opportunity for a large pay day. Why does he think that? and how could the Rymans justify poaching a club from a lower league. Don't get me wrong I want the dons to get promoted but how would other clubs both in the CCL and Rymans react and thus treat us in future? Is there any precedent for his beliefs?

Few questions to answer 1) Justin Skinner as far as I am aware someone said he is avaliable nothing more nothing less. I'm sure that Emo is aware of who is avaliable but he did post on W&WW that some players are on large "wages/expenses" which he is not prepared to pay. 2) The RPV game no date set yet but it looks like everyone wants it played on 7th May (Bank Holiday Monday) as soon as details are known I will let you all know.

Adrian, No you are absolutely right to pray for rain in the Worthing area especially as most of Withdean's games seem to be against rubbish teams and at home. In any case if the pitches were too dry it would make all their diving and acting really quite dangerous for them!

I think Bedfont r unlikely to b able to gain enough points 2 pip us, but RPV or Withdean r the most likely 2 b able to overtake so our 2 games vs RPV r vital!!!!!!!!
John Ivers (john_ivers@blueyonder.co.uk)

Am I the only one to feel that the two matches against Raynes Park could be a bit of a worry for us to come even third? I agree with MFF the ref was a bit lenient but far from the worst. I always think it a bit unfair when you have 22 players barely managing a decent pass to a team mate in 90 minutes and when the referee makes a mistake we all wet ourselves!!

TONY READINGS UPDATE....after losing 7 goals and three points because of too many (bloody) foreigners on the pitch,Tony was on the sideline with wife Karen and son Ronnie. The game frankly suffered without guidance from the back and North Shore lost. I had a good chat with his trouble who (again) talked hansomely of the giddy early days of AFC with an impressive fondness of all the fans and the atmosphere created by said wombles. Also, big Zac spoke of starring in MEAN MACHINE with some bloke who once played for leeds........could`ve been cantona.... Most important to remember though, if you don`t use your wombles you loose matches. nuff said

Grant, your mistaken in thinking that York City were run badly or not "viable". They had a corrupt owner who sold their ground from under them - as we had. That's why they're in trouble now. I have a lot more sympathy for them in fact than the many larger sides who blew all their money in a Premiership survival attempt and/or pay their players stupid money (e.g. Bradford, Watford, Leicester, Barnsley, soon to be West Ham - and the 6th highest wage bill in the Prem!)

More Bad News from nz. Even with no wind for the Americas Cup,which bothers me greatly, North Shore have been stripped of the 7 goals that Davis Haule scored six of! Apparently, N S Utd fielded 4 overseas players instead of three.. these include Tony and Davis and one player who HAS played for Shore before but is still classed as overseas. The score will be 2-0 to Napier City with an appeal still to come but don`t look good!!!!

Grant and preumably on the same basis hadthere been a choice of collecting in buckets for the Dons Trust to keep Wimbledon FC inMerton or going ot Milton Keynes we should have let them go? The fight York are engages in mirrored our own, difference is they caught their chairman and their supposed saviour with their hands in the till soon enough we didn't. For Craig and Batchelor read Noades , Hammam and the Norwegians who systematically helped asset strip Wimbledon long before Milton Keynes. Oh and who would decide what "well run" Confernece Club would replace them perhaps a three man comission or would that nice chap at Chester or that nice Mr Westley just try and buy Yorks place like they did Tranmeres?

Grant - But the York situation is a bit different it's not a case of bad management it's the fact that have been shafted by Douglas Craig the ex chairman. There Trust has been trying to take over the running of the club but it's been taking longer than they thought it would and at the end of last week the administrators said raise 60K by monday or your out of business I would presume that the administrators thought it was an impossible target but it has worked out not to be. If they can take over the club they should be able to get the club running normally.

If we give money to York City and they stay afloat, what would you like to say to a well run conferance club that should be in there place. They do not overspend, why surport an ailing duck.Franchise will lose money and possibly go broke ,should we try to save them.If you spend to much you go under, thats life.Start from scratch like we have ,thats life.

Silver - Thanks for your comments would be intrested to know the level of football you normally watch, If it's just a case of buying players the league would be easy wouldn't it? but espically at this level it's about players knowing how each other play a lot of these teams squads have played together for years, Matt Everard our number 5 was at Ash for 6 years because all his mates played there, Look at Arsenal they have the same players week in week out as did Man U when they were winning everything. If we dont go up we will be back next year but people forget that 8 months ago we had nothing.

I have to agree with everything u say 'Disappointed Don'. We need to sort a few things out to get promotion (next year). Maybe a couple of new stronger and harder players will help. Sean Daley looked really out of sorts yesterday. Was he injured from the start? or just not match fit? Sheerin does not fulfil his potential. He should be terrorising these teams week in week out. Right the strongest players are: Oakins, Everard, Sidwell and Cooper. One player who would be good for us is Justin Skinner (ex Don) now at Gravesend. Terry give the lad a bell.....NOW.

Silver...agree our performance was nervous and really quite pathetic but do not start talking about money, buying players etc. as it is totally irrelevant in this league. these players come from higher placed Leagues and basically should be far better. Relegation 6-pointer...well done on getting revenge over Chipstead having let in 14! As for Withdean, I really thought we might get to see how a team wins week after week as Wallingford cerainly did not do so. Without sour grapes I have to say I thought honestly they were one of the worst teams to come here. No attempt to pass the ball and the time wasting from minute 10, the twat of a referee was to blame for this and the disgraceful playing 'dead' by all but two of there players did not show them in a favourable light. If the squit of a No.4 had made any contact with Lee Passmore he would have had to have gone off or at least had a limp. No, I wish them no well at all and thought like Southall they were a disgrace. We are desperate for [romotion if only to stop playing teams like Southall, Withdean and Ash. Having said that I would be the first to admit our performances since the Feltham home game have been disturbingly poor with one of the biggest disappointments being the partnership of Sheerin & Cooper which has just never happened. Yes a big crowd can add to the pressure but as we have seen from most visiting teams and the endless whingeing captains they are pretty intimdated by it. USE IT TO OUR ADVANTAGE!!

Disappointed as I am - we still have to be realsitic and say what a 'great job' Terry has done in our 1st ever season. Okay - we lost today BUT we can get better. A few new players will make the difference. Looking at yesterday's game we were not as strong and physical as 'Wingedean 2Bob'. We need a few big guys in the side to add a bit of bite. Joe Sheerin really needs to practice his timing for headers as he lost every challenge to a 'big gay carthorse' from Brighton!

TONY READINGS FIRST GOAL IN NZ!! I`m giong to get a big slapping for that as Tone chased the ball back, the keeper cleared srtaight into him and the next thing you know, 6 old (S)Croats were giving it the national anthem. Central United won 3-1 at home which is (strangely) in central Auckland. I may sound a bit bias-like to the womble fella but played good strong football, lot of pressure and talk. Good presence and posisition, just one bad moment (which I opened with!!!) will be remembered. Davis Haule played too deep to do any damage IMO and we await next game. Good luck at home lads and be aware that the colonies are thinking of you!!!!!

If we seriously want to get promotion we are going to have to inject some serious quality in mid field and another decent striker to partner coops, sherins ok but ok will not win us games. That said the ref was f****** s**** and if thats all withdean have got its only a matter of time before their win comes to an end,and if thats all withdean have got what does that say about us :(

A Neutrals viewpoint... Today was my first visit to AFC Wimbledon, I was impressed by the level of support and general set up of your club... however not by your teams performance, it was truly awful. This came as a huge surprise as I was expecting to see footballers of a higher quality, especially when one considers the huge influx of revenue (generated by the fans) at this level compared to other clubs in your league. By scrimping on investing in better players has almost certainly condemned you to another year in this league... if of course withdean 2000 win all their games in hand, which seems a distinct possibility as they have the second best defensive record in the league, only bettered by the leaders AFC Wallingford. To progress further you really need to pay a little more for those better players; too many years of watching this sort of football, as seen today will see your support dwindle, major sponsorship dry up and revenues fall... please beware. Good Luck in your quest for a return to The Football League and may FC Franchise wither and die.

Why in the name of all that is holy can we still not beat any of the top teams ,ok the ref was crap very crap , but withdean did not do anything special today apart from whinge and fall over alot !,(iam not sulking) but based on performances against the top teams(results) the next few weeks could well see the end of promotion for this season ,its all well and good beating the teams at bottom and midtable and just above but we MUST start getting results against the "better" sides .That said matt everard looks every bit as good as reports suggest

Seems I was wrong about Readings then! Good to hear he's doing well. I was looking on the new zealand soccer site which had the squad down as follows. They also missed out the bloke that scored six goals. Not the most reliable site, it seems. North Shore United Squad: Jamie McKenna; Joshua Stick; Peter Hendriks; Leigh Kenyon; Roy Bell; Chris Mooney; Heath Dickenson; Leon Sheehan; Ric Sheehan; Chad Coombes; Mark Fulcher; Michael Varney; Ryley Webster; Robert Rhode; Jafar Alsari; Rob Ward; James Allard; Paul Seaman. :/

Actually, fifth highest attendance Non-League behind Farnborough, Morecambe, Scarborough and Kettering. It is a shame our home league fixtures seem to coincide with Yeovil and Doncaster most weeks. An update on Tony Readings. Played against Napier City (good nz side) and beat them 7-2!!! Tony was strong at the back and organized the back 3 well. Good performance all round and lots of chat. Davis Haule (also of North Shore) knocked in 6 v good goals for the first win of the season. I spoke to Tony after the match and he was regailing me with the story of the first AFC game and how much it meant to himself and the lads, he still gets goosebumps now!!! Hopefully Tony and Davis will eventuate into the Kingz squad to give us two quality players with a bit of guts. To recap, a good game by the two wombles that are getting used to the heat very quickly!
