I lived at 32 pelham road South Wimbledon from 1940 to 1947. I have never seen the dons play live, nor seen Plough Lane, but I went to school at Haydons road which I believe is nearby. I would like to see the Dons get back to their home ground. Good luck.

Paul - re your question on the 19th, yes the CCL contrived to make Ash v Wallingford the last game of 2001-02, but it all went pear-shaped when the latter won the league on the penultimate fixture. I say contrived because teh fixture was due to b eplayed earlier that season but wa pulled out and placed at the end! Back to this season, I think both teams will face a stern test this weekend with Ash at Southall (lovely team & pitch!) and the other AFC at Raynes Park, who hopefully will do as a favour.

I've seen Wallingford play this season. They may just have had an off night, in the end they were lucky to get a draw - Hartley missed a couple of 1 on 1's near the end. They are beatable, don't get me wrong they are one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the league but the season is no way over!

Ash's key centre back Matt Everard is out injured for four weeks I believe. NGU are a good side, it took one of their men to get sent off for us to get back into the game against them. Ash and Wallingford both lost 4 games last season. Ash look set to repeat that number, unfortunately at the moment Wallingford don't :(

Keith - Pleased to be of service. - Richard not bothered about crowd everyone knows that no one is watching them. - regarding Ash & Wallingford we know there going to lose a number of games this season with Ash it will interesting to see if they are missing I think it's everett who is belived to be out for a couple of months, while Wallingford's defeat was a cup one and doesn't effect the league lets hope they lose a few but Tuesday they have Cove so could well get a big win in that game.

Hello, Just a short note to say that I find this site very useful for keeping up to date on AFCW news. In particular I'm grateful for the texted updates, as I can't get to as many games as I would like and this seems to be the only way for me to get match scores on the Saturday. 1100!! Sounds like the same chap counting as at the Frimley Game. There were clearly more like 15-1600. Paul, maybe a silly idea but is it worth the club sending somebody to the Rotherham game to count exactly how many turn up? I am sure he will be allowed to leave after 10 minutes when he has counted them.

I have had to use this site because I'm not that "au' fait" with technology (ie: WISA site, all buttons and return), but I think people are losing the plot. Yes, we have to get behind AFC, yes, we have to undermine anything that CK (/nogs) are doing to undrmine OUR Wimbledon. But let's not help those foriegn interlopers by rubbishing W.F.C. Please, for the moment just let things run the course. It will all end in tears; for some people. It already has for me and there is no need for yopungsters to rub salt.

Paul, Thanks for the link and comment on the guestbook. With regards to the match with AFC Wallingford the Feltham U12's play in the Hayes & District Youth League and I am not sure which one they play in. Mind you we certainly could arrange frindlies with other SHL clubs if they were interested. We also run Under 11's,14's and 15 teams at the moment. When/if we get our new ground we hope to expand our youth set-up to all age groups.

Paul Last week I took a Man Utd mate to the Bedfont game. ( I spoke to you along with Steve and congratulated you on this web site) He really liked the game and wrote a bit for the Man Utd fanzine. They really liked it and now want a large article and more information to publish nationwide in their fanzine. Please see his email to me below:- Matt I've had a very positive email back from the editor of United We Stand (UWS), United's biggest fanzine. He wants me to add a further 200 words then he will use it as a full page in the next UWS which sells thousands of copies each month and also sells across the country in WHSmith newsagents. I'm confident I can provide what he is asking for, but if you have any links to info on the following let me know: Where players came from Exactly how fans are involved in club and setting up of club What the reaction is to AFC from other teams and fans in same league Also, can you provide any good photographs - crowd, players etc?. Cheers, Paul :- Can you or anybody from the club that can help please contact me at matt.mcgough@btinternet.com Thanks Matt

Took a mate who plays footie two leagues below us along on Wednesday night to watch the game. He was very impressed by the size of the crowd. Disappointed in some of the poor passing and our dodgy defence. He thought Cooper was good, but rather lazy. But singled out Ward, Russell, Sidwell and especially Sheerin as being very good. If we gain more players like them in the coming months then next year would be the year to aim for promotion. Terry is getting things right and seems a top manager. After only two months to be where we are in the league is I think very very good. It will take time, a club isn't born and doesn't grow over night but over months and years. And for me I am in for the years as I now feel I have a club that I can support again. I would rather us be in the CCL then being owned by some rich greedy "person" and in Prem or Div 1. It is much more fun down here in the lower leagues. AFC Dons, it's what football is all about.

Bassey did well, but his combination was wrong, should have been left, right THEN left, not right, left right. I reckon Bassey won on points. I reckon for darn good punch ups, we should introduce hockey-style sin bins - why bother sending them off when they could spark another one in the 2nd half! Or maybe not.

Simon Bassey, is a very stupid lad, certainly not denying that he has some nice touches but he is, IMO a liabillity and will be a marked man throughout the season, I think that the ref albeit he was very poor did us a massive favour by red carding both players

Last Saturday's game between Nth Greenford and Westfield in the CCL attracted a "crowd" of only 20. At last, I can crack a joke about the players outnumbering the crowd and maybe the PA announcer, if indeed there was one, would have saved time by naming each member of the crowd. Interesting, that they witnessed a cracker with Nth Greenford winning 5-4.

Tony - It's 10 points with a game in hand, if we win that it's 7. Like paul said there's a long way to go yet. 'Crowd calculator' twat - The crowd figures are hardly the main topic of conversation here are they? However I too find it annoying when for example: you stand in a crowd of 4000+ (vs Kingstonian) and they record it at 2000.

Hi Tony, with regards to Ash they have already drawn a couple of games and also have to play most of the top teams. Ash also have the problem of ground facilities I would also be suprised if they have could get promoted based on ground, even if we finish 3rd we could get promoted so there is a long way to go if we dont get promoted we will just have to give it a go next season.

Cheerz Mr Perry. Coincidentally, I passed Cove's ground yesterday on the way back and given the amount who turned up yesterday and the size of the ground, they would be very stupid not to switch the game to Fboro. Paul, re Felthams chances this year its early days yet, When they played Withdean 2000 Feltham were winning only to let in a goal right at the end. I think running a good reserves side might help later in the season, being able to bring in match fit players if 1st team players pick up any knocks. I do think they are a much better side than last year with some new key players and a good new Manager, but we will see......

Paul, can you help? I appreciate it is not your decision but maybe you can mention to someone about away matches. I am concerned that for example with only 10 days to go there is no mention anywhere re: whether vouchers or not are required for G & G fixture. I have tried to mention this to the club but the response was vague to be generous. There are a lot of people outside London who still support religiously and I cannot see why it all has to be up in the air till the last minute. Surely we want as many away fans as possible and am convinced the low turn out for Ash was due to the way it was, or wasn't, arranged in time.

Enjoying every minute of it - only problem can't get tickets for northern away games. surely with the apparent lack of movement from merton council, and the reluctance of safeway to sell the land at a decent price, it is time to look at new potential sites for a ground. although this hurts me to say this, maybe not as much as other as i was only 5 when we left, i feel it would be better for the club to get a ground of there own as soon and as cheep as poss in merton, this unfortunetly may rule out plough lane. But surely the future of AFCW is the most important thing here.

The old football ground has been demolished, I think? Haven't been down there for nearly 2 years now. The Speedway goes on at the dogtrack just down the road. It was proposed as a place for WFC to settle but depending on who you listen to, it was either too expensive or the dog racing people had no need or inclination to have a complete rennovation disrupt the season at a profitable track. Nice to see the baggies doing well anyway.

I remember Merton saying they were going to build a stadium at Plough Lane whether WFC wanted to play there or not, and if they didn't they would find someone who did. Well chaps, I would say you have found a club who want to play there so where's the stadium? Either they grossly underestimated the costs and difficulties involved and are now hoping that we had forgotten all about it, or they were talking crap. I would go for the latter - making bold statements to curry favour with Dons fans, knowing they have their share of guilt for our situation and all the while thinking they would never be called upon to act. We have been stitched up all round, by everyone involved. I warned of a carve up on this site around 18 months ago, when a friend of mine with contacts told of the football authorities acceptance of the move and that although they would make the right noises of condemnation, the deal would be ushered through the back door (at the time, certain individuals dismissed me as a know-nothing, gossip-monger) which is exactly what happened. My point is that if AFCW want a stadium they will have to do it themselves, and not rely on anyone else to help deliver. The FL, FA and the council have all pretended to be 'on our side', but when it really comes down to it, they can't be trusted.

Yes, why are FFC supporters writing on the site we would ratheer hear from another other club supporters. Are they struggling to understand the interest in supporting a team with a great atmosphere and plenty of goals and a general passion for a club and need to keep in touch just in case miraculously if after FFC is wheeled to Milton Keynes they start showing an interest?

Stu wasn't so much the standing, more the 'going fcuking mental' after each goal!! I wasn't surpised their keeper came in for some serious stick again, he handled it well though. I remember Ian Walker (what a c***) giving us the w*nker sign after some pretty tame abuse at a Spurz/Dons reserve game once, so the Brimsdown keeper did pretty well. End of the day it's part of the game, and if it puts the wind up the keeper and gives us an advantage (which i feel it did on Wed) then so be it. I think tomorrow will be tough - I think North Greenford are now above us?? Nick.

Lads, simmer down. I dont think it is funny or clever making rude rmarks about someone getting mugged. I dont see eye to eye with Ronan, but even so I wouldnt wish any harm on him either. Personally Ronan, I think you left yourself open to abuse by posting it on WISA and I would rather not tell anyone and forget the incident. And does it matter if they are 16 years old or 64 years old. Kids of today have little respect and when they hang aroud in groups are quite dangerous. Sometimes if you are that outnumbered it is easier to give something over, all these kids carry knives and sods these days. And even if you do kick em in the nuts you get done for assult. You dont win. Anyway can we talk about football now. Was anyone else knackered standing up for 2 1/2 hours on Wednesday. Someone next to me questioned wether the players would be fit for Saturday, I think you can turn that around and question wetehr the supporters will be fit.
