Thanks - on a more serious note (not that jdt isn't serious), does anyone know whether the season tickets have been sent yet. I applied for mine about 3-4 weeks ago, but haven't received anything yet, which makes it difficult to apply for the vouchers for the Fizzers game on the 17th.

Thanks everyone for your responce to my message. I have got a couple of clubs who have been tailing me in the pre-season to talk to. So you may well get to see me in action this season but unfortunatley it'll be me trying to stop the mighty dons instead of helping them win!!! Someone said footballs a funny game well they were right and nothing suprises me in football so who knows Terry might be on the phone soon!! All the best. Andy Hunt

How can I thank Wimbledon. It will be great to see a professional team playing football here. This is what Milton Keynes has been crying out for. If Wimbledon fans won't watch them, then the citizens of Milton Keynes will be happy to adopt Wimbledon FC as our own. However, I do think that Mr Koppell should change the club name to MK Dons to recognise the transistion from the borough of Merton to Milton Keynes. I wish AFC Wimbledon all the best in their new adventures and with a great set of fans like you, then they will grow in stature season by season!

Milton Keynes, - Monday, August 05, 2002 at 06:25:15 (PDT)
I was just wondering, are any of you AFC supporters gonna care about the original Wimbledon or are you just gonna imagine them as a distant memory. Surely after years of following them your not just going to forget about them? Plus, when they're in MK is their name gonna change. It will look really gay having "Wimbledon FC" in Milton Keynes. I can also recall Merton Council saying they will redevelop Plough Lane even if the Dons move to MK. Why didn't Koppell say they would move there? It doesn't make sense.

Well Paul, Feltham played Spethorne (away)on Saturday and the First team won 4-1 and the reserves 3-0. Thats two double wins in a row as both teams beat Ruslip Manor in the week. Spethorne are from the level below the CCL but they have some quite good 1st team players. Tonights the bigger test as Feltham are playing Southall Town (not the Southall from the CCL)they are from a similar level to us so it should be a good match.

The thing about sad little wind ups like Nicholls, is that they NEVER post who they support. Obviously an insecurity issue about their team, otherwise thay would have conversations on their clubs own message boards. Maybe Nicholls was neglected by his parents or something.

No Gillingham fans are not violent, injury could result from one of their caravans running over an unwary foot but that's about it. actually that's just a joke, we need to be nice to them so they will all hopefully boycott Franchise FC...

Dons might well be on for their first win against Wealdstone, as they are putting out a pretty mixed team on Thursday night. They play their arch rivals, Harrow Borough, on Saturday and a much stronger side will take the field that day.

I see from some of the posts that the green eyed monster is already rearing it's ugly head. What's up with some of you other CCL fans? Frightened that the Dons are going to do it all over again? How can Wimbledon supporters be "cruddy"? If it wasn't for some greedy foreigners and a useless FA Wimbledon F.C would still be ours and be able to continue a marvellous story that has never been matched by any other modern day non league side. But because of circumstances we are starting all over with AFC Wimbledon. Don't knock it. Give it respect and admiration, after all it could be your team next to have it's history and indentification stolen and given away to an out in the sticks, plastic parody of a new town.

ed don u are 100% correct if we win this season it will be a huge bonus as we are a young fresh and green set up, i do feel that even if we dont win it we will be in one of the ryman divisions nx season due to all the problems in acomidating our supporters in the ccl this will take time winning i mean but with the resorces ie players available we will do ok. on the point of vouchers getting a season ticket is expensive and i dont think 6500 will be at any home game so i havnt bothered yet but for away games would it not be an idea to set up a supporters club where you pay ie £1 to join then you are registered as a don and thus could get vouchers after season ticket/trust members

Everyone slagging off AFCW's early results - give them a break! You can't just put a team together in the space of a few weeks and expect them to gel straight away. You could go out and buy the world's eleven greatest players and they would still take time to get to know eachother and function as a team. I think realistically, AFCW shouldn't be expecting to win the CCL this year (I would love to be proved wrong though) but for Dons fans this season is all about enjoying football again.

Andy Hunt, sorry to hear you are no longer involved with AFC Wimbledon. I thought you had an excellent game against W&H despite the score (if you haven't already seen it there are some photos of you in action on geocities.com/afcw_2002/ and at the end of the Ks' report, I hoped you were still involved and pointed out how difficulties for a keeper playing behind a brand new defence. They can hide, but you can't. Certainly there has been no pressure from the fans about the results, I think we all realise how difficult it has been learning to play as a team as you go along. But the gaffer's the gaffer and that's life. Accept my best wishes for the future, I'm certain you have a good to look forward to, and hopefully you have some experiences of making history with us to take with you. This is Andt Hunt who has played in goal for some of the pre-season games as you might now. Being part of AFC Wimbledon has been one of the highlights of my career and i've loved every second but on Monday Terry called me to tell me that I wasn't part of his plans as he would rather have Andy Bell and Aiddy as his goalkeepers for the season. I have to admit that this has been a massive disappointment and something i wasn't expecting. I just wanted to thank all the fans for the brilliant support they gave while i was involved and wish you all the brst in the future.Cheers Andy

You have to compete in the F.A Vase for one year then the following season you can enter the F.A Cup, so next year you will be able to enter the Vase (2003/04) but not the F.A Cup until the following season (2004/05). This has happened to us this year and we have to wait until next year for the FA Cup. Good luck against Leatherhead on Saturday

I didn't do the speedway advert may have been Darren Leach - Speedway part of site has been neglected due to everything going on at AFCW but I will get it back up and running - About the FA Cup I think you have to have been going for over a year before you can enter the FA Cup Enfield Town were formed a year ago were not in the FA Cup last year but are this year. So we should be in the 2003/04 FA Cup.

The reason Feltham are not in the FA cup is because of their plastic pitch, also they cannot be in the Ryman League for the same reason. But there are FIFA moves to alow plastic pitches again for all matches. So are Mighty Feltham ahead of the game, yet again.

I watched my first, and so far only CCL game, last year at Chessington Utd to see the other AFC (or Wallies). I can confirm that the Dons have little to fear as the Wallies stuggled against, yes a former Pub side down to 10 men, to record a narrow 1-0 win. The reference to Pub side is true since the programme confirms that Chess Utd started as White Hart PH. So maybe that Other CCL fan has something to fear from Pub sides?

Zac, we beat them early in the season 4-2 two away at AFC Wallingford and then nicked the result at home 1-0. Did'nt see the away game but watched the one at Feltham. If I remember corectly they had/have a massive centre forward who was only brought on near the end of the match and made things worse for them. They did'nt actually look that good but maybe they did'nt like our 'pitch'.

Fair enough Nick, but I would not assume Nick that the other CCL teams are a lot worse than Rymans team. Ashford (Middx) who were in the CCL went up to the Rymans and more than held their own. At the end of the day we will all find out when we start real games..........:-D

To the HW and Feltham fan cheers for details of the games who you have played. On Monday 12th August we play Enfield Town who I'm sure you know are in the Essex Senior so that should give us a fair idea of how we are doing. I also think that with all the media coverage we have got clubs are going to want to put one over us. As Creanleigh are now out of the division are there any really weak teams or would you say it's prety level?

Paul.R. Your not the only ones that play teams from the Ryman premier or Div 1. We play Aldershot in 2 weeks and yesterday we played Leatherhead from Div 1 and lost 3-2 in a very close game. Ash beat Bracknell from Div 1 2-1 also yesterday. You just seem to be playing so many of them. Walton beat Godalming 9-0 so your 5-0 doesn't look so bad. Some of the Walton players came to our game yesterday and they felt that there was not much between you and us, and both of us have our main strikers missing at the moment!! should be a good match on the 31st August. Remember we came 6th last year so that should give you a rough idea of where you stand in the CCL standards at the moment. ps how are Danny Roberts and Andy Hunt doing? Keep up the good work. Quick tip Ash will set the standard.

i think someone worked out that it would be 7 years of promotion before the premiership could be reached but by then the premiership would be like the conference as Man U and others will be in the inter galatic league or someething :) - By the way to the other CCL fans out of interest what level teams do you play pre season games against. thats not meant to be anything other than a question, as we have played teams that are rymans Div 1 or above I think the players are concerned that they havent won for the fans yet but the majority of us dont mind :)

Have just come back from Swindon 1 Burger King FC 1. About 20 BK fans, 8 WISA outside and no sign of any Swindon supporters against Koppel from what I could see. Despite a worrying amount of passing to each other relegation should be pretty certain for both clubs this season. Will a decision on tickets for the Sandhurst game be made shortly?

I would very much appreciate if you could e-mail information reguarding this issue at the address given. If you could also give a price for postage and packing as well as the issues themselves that would be very helpful. just a quick note to say congratulations on an excellent site. Us Dons fans are a well organised lot - so many websites around at the moment. The excitement for this new club is palpable and it is so good to see fans take control of their own community's football destiny. Never went to Selhurst (well maybe once or twice) because they never felt like my local team. Now I've got a local team again I'm going to go to every match I can. This clubs got a great future and I want to be part of it.

Yes aside from giving up on Franchise we should of course stand aside and allow it to become a sucess so that lots of other chairman see it as a good idea I presume? Oh and the crowd was nowhere near 50/50 split at Carshalton! I counted seven Wimbledon shirts going in and was htere from 6.30, anyone got access to DVLA database cos I have their car numbwrs ;)(thats a joke btw before I get accuse yet again of thrreats and violence by some on here) The majority of the crowd was made up by curious supporters many of who were wearing others Clubs shirts and England tops. I guess having a First division club come and play is interesting to them still good indicater of the amount of interest there might be in that other non league bastion Milton Keynes!!!

Astronomers at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California have now been able to calculate where the “point of impact” of Asteroid NT7 will occur on 1st February 2019. Milton Keynes (a small hamlet in Buckinghamshire, England) will bear the full impact of the first asteroid to hit the earth since 1908. Nobel Prize Winner for Peace, Sir Charles Koppel, Laird of Milton Keynes, has sought President Blair’s approval to re-locate his estate before this cataclysmic event reduces his fiefdom to ashes. First indications suggest that a re-location to Wimbledon SW19 would be sufficiently removed from the point of impact to ensure survival. Sir Charles has previous links with this area, which he believes will ensure a warm welcome for his doomed serfs. Later, in President’s Question Time, President Blair of Europe said that whilst he was not prepared to influence the asteroid’s decision to plummet to earth on Milton Keynes, he admired it’s single-bloody-mindedness.

Im suprised that FFC got 160 in last night. Dont know what the average attendance for Carshalton was last year so hopefully it was them that turned up instead of Dons fans. I just cant wait to see the attendance for the 1st home game against Gillingham. I hope that it is below 1000 and see the empty spaces on the stands. AFAIK, Merton Council must really now get their heads out of their backsides and start doing visible stuff. If AFCW fans have merely been used as election profiteering over this, then the current rulers will get absolutely trollied at the next council elections. Stuff really needs to be done now, and Merton must be forced to show their true hand..

Hear Hear Edin. I am always sceptical of politicians, councillors ets. I know some turned up to launches and speeches but if I felt they really cared then they would do something. Notice how they appear when newspapers and camera are around. I can remember the 'overwhelming' support that Leamington FC received from the council during the 14 limbo years in finding a new ground. It was only the kindness of a farmer who allowed the club to exist again in the very outskirts of the town. Not the MP's that 'pledged their support' come every election council thingy vote.

I seem to remember Merton Council proudly declaring that they were going to build a stadium at PL wether or not WFC wanted to play there or not and that they would find a team who wants to play there. Is it not time for them to break their silence (which in itself tells you something) and put their money where their mouth is? They have a team that wants to play there - what's stopping them? Of course, the council could have been telling us porkiesas they have been known to do before.........
