I don't know if this is old news and WISA are already aware, but a friend of mine (obviously can't say who he works for) has seen documents sealing the move to MK. Apparently they contain clauses by which the MK consortium can take legal action if WFC pull out for any reason other than being blocked by the football authorities. Apparently, there is also evidence that the Premier League have secretly approved the move, so that should we get promoted, they will not block it like the FL. If true, it proves that CK is still cynically taking the p**s, setting up fans forums etc. If this is old news, however, the Railtrack site sounds great, doesn't it? Their administrators will be only too keen to flog any of their assets to recoup some of their debt.

Paul,Well don for keeping the news page updated regularly from sunny Bournemouth. How about some posting a few views of the pier, sunsets, Dene Court (rebuilding should be almost finished) and fish and chip suppers, to remind us of happy days on the South Coast. I remember a 3 -2 away win, in a promotion season, played on a freezing day in late April, typical British weather. See you at CP away. Come on you Dons.Tim

Excellent updates on the site Paul. I have just read all the reports of the Man City game and am thrilled at the way it went on Saturday, just hope we can start to do it at Selhurst as well, it was similar last season with great away form and points lost at home wasn't it. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for being the only site to put all the reports in one place. They mean a lot when you can't get the sunday papers :-)

Fantastic win today. According to all the 'experts', everyone else was only playing for second place while King Kev's boys walked away with the title! To beat them like that on their own patch will be a massive boost to Terry and the lads. Just like last year, we are staring to find our form after an unsettled start, but we appear to be doing it a lot earlier this time!

South London, It is indeed true that Speedway could be returning to it's original home at Wimbledon Stadium (Dog track). As far as I know, only the track needs upgrading. The first of Wimbledon's exiled teams is set to go home, we can only hope the second one follow soon.

i dont know if this is old news but it shocked me when i read in a speedway magazine, that speedway was being re introduced to wimbledon on a permanant basis and plough lane is said to be the venue for the track and stadium.now whether this is to be belived or not i dont know but from the article it seems that it could happen, they have the backing.whether merton council will give them permission other us i dont know.but i know what i would rather have.WombleTillIDie.

Koppout may plead poverty - but BRG has already counteracted this (almost inadvertantly) by saying we'll be breaking even next season if not sooner. So, either somebody is lying or WFC is so badly run nobody knows what they're doing. Draw your own conclusion.

Mainstander, I agree that we should have put more into protesting at the original move but unfortunately "Uncle Sam" was both charming and devious in his method. He arranged the move in secret and didn't announce it until it was too late to protest other than refuse to watch the Dons. The problem now is that the chairman, whoever he may be, will carry out the Norwegians bidding. But, following recent press/letters I can see a more sinster ploy being bought into play. Seeing as at present everybody is blocking any move to MK, Koppell is now pleading abject poverty to the point of insolvency. Does he hope that a)The threat of selling all our players will encourage the supporters to accept MK Dons is better than no team. b) The threat of Wimbledon collapsing into bankruptcy and leaving the league short will have the League to agree to MK ? I fear that all the "big business" tricks will be bought into play and we must be vigilant in not allowing our protest to become tunnel visioned. We must all stay alert to each and every possible twist and turn of these people, who call themselves owners and lovers of football. When obviously they only love the smell of money.

Agreed, Koppel is only the puppet for what the nogs want but until they have the spine to actually watch a game of the club that they own then I'll be directing all my abuse at Charlie Boy. And I'm sorry if you feel that people are adopting a "battle mentality" but we should have been doing this 10 years ago week in week out...my only worry is that now it will be too little too late. Cheers.

Mainstander, I know many people who work at WFC (as I used to myself), and they knew by 3pm, they had potential trouble. The fact remains that getting Koppell out will serve no purpose because it's the Nogs that own the club: even if you do get Koppell out, Koppell II will be in place in a few days. Before Brighton starts, I am not saying don't protest against MK, and tell CK what we think of the whole MK scheme, but don't think that ousting him will be the end of it.

Mainstander you are closing your eyes to reality. The club did know that sales of seats in that area had increased. In these days of computers the seats had registered as sold well before kick-off. The club did know you were there and had arranged for extra stewards. So far from Edinburgh Don being wrong I think you'll find he is nearer to reallity than you. Personally, I think some of you have forgotten the real aim of this campaign and have become obsessed with the "battle mentality".

Edinburgh Don, sorry mate but you are 100% incorrect. We bought our tickets in ones and twos just B4 kick off and not as a block group booking. It took Koppel and the stewards totally by surprise (as was the plan) to show him that we can (and will) turn up anywhere to give him grief. Trust me, this is only the start of getting this monkey out of our club...

I was wondering if anyone could do me a huge favour for the Man City away match on saturday. I live in Manchester so I dont get to see many dons games, so I jumped at the chance to go to this one. I rang up for tickets and the woman in the box office said I had to become a memeber to buy away tickets, which I thought was fine as I'd payed £5 last year to join the Crazy Gang. However, the price is now £12.50 and I can't really affford to pay that plus the £8 junior match fee to go to see one game. I was wondering if someone coming up from London could buy me a junior ticket in the Dons stand so I could buy it off them in Manchester. If anyone could help could you please call 0161 610 2507 or post to this guestbook. Thanks a lot, Tim

The club knew that there was going to be aggro last time when a block of people bought tickets in that area; Simply because no-one had bought tickets there all season, and WFC knew these weren't Sheff Wed supporters. That's why extra stewards were supposedly 'on standby' in the director's box area. They knew you were coming and decided to take your money anyway. CK and his crones thought they could handle a bit of stick - they've maybe changed their minds.

Thought he could sit with his grandfather, uncle, and elder brother who are all Season Ticket holders in The Stephenson (Main Stand).Advised that the Club Secretary had decided that No tickets were for sale there presumably because of the events on Saturday. Young lady on the telephone would not budge even though it was pointed out how ridiculous this stance was. Koppel's claim that we need £7 million to meet requirements for this year looks a bit silly: Currently, transfer figures alone for the period 2000-2001 show that transfers in total £1.99 million Transfers out total £21.5 million. Therefore, if the PL parachute payment is around the £3 million mark (and that's an estimate), then, over two years, gross income from transfers, television money and parachute payments can be expected, by the end of this season, to total something in the reigon of £30 million. If someone can e-mail me brightonwomble@hotmail.com with the figures for TV money for last season and this season and PL parachute payments, then we can have a full picture. Koppel is a total liar, or a VERY creative accountant

Even if the club is up for sale, Jools, who is seriously going to buy it? It would be fantastic if someone with stacks of cash came rolling in, but it's not likely. Who wants a first division club with no ground of it's own? I think this is just another bit of spin from the Norwegians and their stooge.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but temper your words with wisdom not swear words. Just stop for a moment and think. If Koppel opposes the league on the grounds that he is a businessman running a club and can move where he wants. Fine. The league, of which his club is a member simply has to tell him to play by the rules or the club will not be allowed to play in the league. Result of which, The Wimbledon players will not receive their current salaries and will join other clubs. Milton Keynes-or any other club, including Wimbledon, can start there own team from scratch. Do you really believe Koppel and his consortium will accept that? The answer is obvious if he doesn't get his way he will have to sell the club. Save your chants and abuse. Support the players on the field. If you really want to upset the club killer, be nice to him. he'll be as confused as hell!

Brighton - firstly I AM a WISA member. Just because I have lived here for the past year doesn't mean I haven't been campaigning. I wrote to the FL board members (and got some nice replies), I have e-mailed or written to members of the Department for Sport, Media and Culture including the secretary of state and sports minister. I have had contact with the FA and UEFA, the London Mayor and of course, messrs Koppell and Rokke. Unfortunately family and work commitments mean I cannot attend matches at the moment, but I have several trips planned for later in the season. If there is some other course of action which you think I may take, then please suggest one.

a couple of points- I thought that the fans in with Kopout were great. They made themselves known, hopefully embarresing CK in the process. Apart from a minor distraction when they fisrt started singing, I can't believe that they put of the team in anyway. In any event who cares - till the threat of Milton Keynes is lifted, results on the pitch are of no relevance. I personally don't care if Hughes leaves - he over playes the ball and loses it too often. Good luck to him where ever he ends up. He's a nice enough bloke, just not my personal favourite.

Not the end of the world if Hughes goes is it? Sure he can come up with the goods once in a while, but whenever I've seen him play he seems to spend 89 minutes 'hiding'. I think 'Hughesie' is one of the most over-rated players we have had. Mainstand, I think you are over-reacting to TW comments. Turning up in the director's box isn't really THAT revolutionary or surprising, - and TW is right - I thought people were opposed to giving extra income to the point of disgraceful behaviour towards people who work for the club (such as spitting at programme sellers)?

Message for T.W. in fact the bunch of people in the mainstand did not "totally ignore the game for the firt half" and I should know because I was one of them.If we did then prehaps you can expalin why the Holmesdale were reposnding to Holmesdale Holmesdale give us a song and that Terry Burton acknowledged our chants in the first hald for him and the team. The point of the protest was to show Charles Koppel we can do the unexpected and to show him that we can pop up anywhere at any time. For the record there were significantly more than 30 people involved as well and a large number of people in the main stand supported our actions, it also allowed the Holmesdale to get behind the team as was agreed although it must be stated it was not sanctioned by anybody officially. While on thatnot one person was arrested an/or cautioned despite the crap you may read on other websites about thugs and mindless morons. Its nice to know our fellow supporters think so much of us anyway.

Edinburgh Don, I didn't see any protest as such but around about thirty or so did make a vocal presence felt. They had purchased seats in the main stand (so much for not giving the club any extra revenue) alongside(to the rear) of the directors box. Throughout the first half they completely ignored the game and voiced their opposition to the board in general and Koppell in particular. All well and good but it doesn't help our team on the pitch. They moved down to the front for the second half and finnally got around to cheering on the Dons. I totally agree with their sentiments (although my language would be a little more tempered) and defend their right to express them but I do feel during the game we should direct our energy at getting behind the team.

Just realised. It's our fault. We moved ourselves from Plough Lane to Selhurst. We sold Plough Lane to Safeway and the club to a bunch of dodgy Norweigan businessmen only in it for the money. We appointed Charles Koppel. In fact, we asked for Koppel to relocate us to MK. We asked him to ignore us and send us a letter telling us we were going to MK, like it or not. We have also decided to pursue the matter in the courts because we are so desparate to get a return on our money. We've all only been watching football for a year and we think that we will all go to Fulham. That's the way some of you Don's supporters seem to see things. That or you refuse to see who's responsible for all the things that our OWNERS have done. To any of you who are pissed off with people booing Koppel etc, then go and support another team. I for one, along with the majority of others, will continue to act in the disgusting self interest of wanting to have a club to support in three years time. You will continue to unslavishly believe every word the club spins you and accuse us of being selfish. Quite frankly, we are the most selfish idiots for opposing MK and our chairman so much. we don't deserve a team. Let's just enjoy it while we've got one, then we can all merrily dismiss football when CK gets his way and playing in the land of the concrete cows.

Wimbledon manager Terry Burton threatened to walk out on the Dons after his side's 3-3 draw with Portsmouth tonight unless the club's stadium rift is sorted out. Burton believes continued talks about a move to Milton Keynes have divided the club and finally his players have been affected. He said after the Selhurst Park fixture: "I am considering my position at the club. Not everybody is pulling in the same direction and it's not happening. "Every day we are going out and working hard and even tonight when we were 3-0 up there was a bad feeling about the place. "The club disillusions me and I don't know where the support is going to come from. There is no money and there is nothing for the club to hang on to. "The whole place stinks at the moment and tonight there was a bad feeling around the ground. "This is the worst I have felt at the club since I arrived and the feeling is even worse than when we were relegated. "There are small problems everywhere around the club and there is only so many times I can plaster over a crack. "It seems as though somebody has a hoodoo over the club and every time I paper over one incident something else happens." FROM BBC CEEFAX MATCH REPORT

You really don't have to turn this into a criticism of my right to question people's (in this case Paul's) motives. I am happy that I have a right to do so, and I will absolutely defend the right of people to do the same. However, I do not want this to seem as though I am trying to turn 'Don against Don', so rest assured, although I will continue to advocate the boycott of club merchandise and assist in maintaining the picketing of the shop itself (and urge you all to continue to do the same), I am not seeking to undertake a witch-hunt. I hope this clarifies my position and puts and end to the matter.

Hello,I understand that you wish to protest about the proposed move to MK for you club next sunday against us. Would any of you mind if we joined in as WE as a club think that to move your beloved club that distance is a discrace to supports in general. We plan to make our voices heard about the ITV digital channel as well, we would appreciate your help for this too. Many thanks Graham PS I hope you do well at vicarge road................. but not as well as us :-)

Agree with the last two posts. The only way we will beat CK is if we all stay on the same side. If we are arguing amongst ourselves - that's energy wasted that we should be directing in his direction!

Brighton Womble mate - time to leave Paul alone. He's a good bloke amd is Wimbledon through and through. He's already confirmed that MK is not for him. If he wants to work in the shop, let him - its his right to do what he wants - there are more important battles to be won at the moment - The last thing we need is to be fighting amongst ourselves - everyone has their own views and we must respect them even if we don't always agree. As long as our common goal in MK NOWAY, lets stay friends. Please!

Brighton Womble I'm sure your heart is in the right place, but use your head now and again. You are allowing your emotions to cloud your thinking. Those of us who are against MK but still work for the club are not daft or stupid. We respect your point of view, please, think and look at our perspective. We love the Dons, as much as anybody, we will not let them be taken away as long as we have breath in our body. So come on son attack the chiefs not the little red indians!

Can we get off the Club Shop debate mainly because I am so bored with it. In future may I suggest that only the manager deals with talking to people when boycotting, to stop this ridiculous ridicule and then everyone get back to having a laugh once all the ANTI Milton Keynes stuff has been packed away for the night. Yes we need loads of suggestions, yes it is going to be one hell of a fight but I for one is 100% confident that Mr Koppel will be forced to resign his tenancy as Chairman of Wimbledon Football Club. KOPPEL OUT, KOPPEL OUT, KOPPEL KOPPEL KOPPEL OUT OUT OUT.Oh and he is also a liar. "WE WILL START AT PLOUGH LANE AND WORK OUTWARDS EVALUATING EVERY BIT OF SPARE LAND" Yeah right.

Stop Milton Keynes, chuck out Koppel, in order to do this you will need to stand up and be counted, one way to do this is to boycott all merchandise and to boycott the programme. Contribute to the WISA fighting fund, write the letters that need writing and join in the protesting, fight together to show Koppel he can't have what isnt his. We need to show publically and privately that Koppel has got to go and when he has his Norwegian acolytes will have to go to if they still fail to undertand where this club belongs, they are even owrse than Hammam and Noades.

Just voicing support for Paul and TW. Even from up here, I've got involved with campaign letters and e-mails etc. Stop questioning the motives of fellow Dons fans (can anyone really question the dedication of the two guys mentioned?) and concentrate on giving Koppell some stick. He is not going to let this go. We won the first, but round 2 starts here.

Brighton Womble, why on earth do you think the Club Shop staff should tell you why we choose to work for the club!! As you maybe aware, I work with Paul and Chris in the shop, I personally dont do it for money, I dont need the extra income. I do it because I enjoy working and meeting fellow Dons fans, it is more like a social club on matchdays and I would like to think the fans know they can come in a have a chat and have a discussion about Wimbledon FC. The feedback we have is good and we feel we are doing the shop justice. Please can you stop asking for a personal response from Paul, he doesn't answer to anyone ( not even me sometimes :-) ) and as your are probally aware you are an isolated opinion on this one as people understand Pauls view. And if they dont TOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!Cheers, Merry Xmas and Happy New Year, Stuart

You guys don't get it, do you? Why on earth SHOULD Mr Raymond have to "Justify" his continued work in the club shop? He doesn't HAVE to justify to you, me, or anyone else. I've been a Dons Man a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time, and would hate to see my club die. BUT (and it's a big but) what if it all falls flat? What if, in two weeks time, the idea is dropped? Where would the club shop staff be then, if they resign now? A job like that comes along once in a lifetime. As you say about these guys - they are life-long Dons. They ain't gonna give it up easy. NO ONE should doubt the integrity of these people. They don't doubt yours. Sort it out.

If anybody doubts the commitment of those of us who are true Dons supporters and are still working for the club then let them come and speak with me. I have followed the team since I was fifteen, thats forty one years ago when Wimbledon F.C was an Isthmian league side. I have been all over the country in fog, rain, snow and sunshine watching MY boys. I am totally against the move to Milton Keynes and have done my share of protesting and writing, BUT I will carry on working for the club. Because in forty one years I've seen it all. Managers, directors, owners and players come and go: the club and fans carry on. So you stick in there with all you can knowing that at the end of it all you and the club will survive. Stop using your knees as judgement and think about it. TOGETHER we win, divide we fall. Fight CK and not fellow supporters.

Can I suggest Jamie that in future you have no right to question whether people are true fans or not. And I thought that last weeks debate was over anyway and that lessons have been learnt. As I keep harping on about, the people that work in the Club Shop know why we are boycotting it. Lets make sure that arguments like this do not occur again. I had respect for your post and agreed with it right up until you started using profanities on what has been classified a family website. Sagey

Just to say I am getting a bit annoyed with people slagging off the club shop workers! Paul, don't listen to anyone that has a go (I'm sure you don't anyway!). I saw the disgraceful message posted by a Mr John Venables on WISA. All he has done is prove he is a tw*t and should not go round calling himself a Dons fan. Keep up the good work Paul R and Chris Draper. I for one appreciate having Wimbledon fans working in the club shop than some mindless Palace fans! Cheers!

Trouble is, Paul, I think people genuinely are confused as to why continue to work in the club shop. I don't condone people insulting you, but you really have no reason for continuing there apart from sheer bloody-mindedness. As for the guy that runs them, I can understand, but you, it just baffles me totally.

i have not wrote n.e. thing 4 a long time but i have kept up 2 date by readin everything on this site every couple of weeks and i hav got a few things 2 say, firstly i tthink dat these naw chairmans have done more for us than sam hammam because they have got us a neww training ground they have got rid of dat out-of date slogon 'the crazy gang' secondly i wanted to say dat i feel we r goin da wrong way about this move to mk because if these chairmans hav looked everywhere and there is no where local then fair enough we will have to move to mk but ifthey r liein ( which they probably r ) just coz it is cheaper and they will make more money we should do everything we can 2 not let this happen and lastly i think this walk and letting them black ballons off is a good idea oh yeah not buyin n.e thing and settin up r own programme but why dont we just not turn up 2 a game ( one where there isnt goin 2 b many away supporters ) coz then the press will hav a field day which will get on the backs of them chairmans and if it doasnt work the first time we sould do it every 6 or so games this sould make them pull there fingers out!!!! so LONG LIVE THE DONS

Well done everyone who wrote to the Football League board. A first round win, but we've got a long way to go before the cup final. There will probably be an appeal, but let's keep the pressure on. Now we know we have the FL on our side, now lwt's convince the FA and some government figures, starting with the sports minister. WE ARE WIMBLEDON!

I wrote to each of the 8 members of the Football League board last week and today got the following reply from Geoffrey Richmond, Chairman of Bradford City AFC, dated 15th August 2001: "I am fundamentally opposed to Wimbledon's proposed move to Milton Keynes. It is my belief that if Milton Keynes want a Football League side they should move up through the pyramid, and enter the Football League in exactly the same way as Wimbledon and others have done in the past. Please rest assured therefore that my vote will be firmly against the Wimbledon proposal when the matter is discussed by the Football League on the 16th August."
